Marker Former Bills deny Haslett's charge [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"Just because (Kent) got stronger and bigger doesn't necessarily mean that he did steroids. When he first came in, I thought Kent was a great center right off the bat. It wasn't like he wasn't going to make the team. (Assistant and NFL Hall of Fame lineman) Jim Ringo said immediately, 'This guy's good.' "He was country boy strong, and if he gained weight, it was from getting older and naturally putting on weight. And it wasn't drastic then."'

Marker Winds of Change [5:00 AM] reports: 'The Bills won’t be on the board until the 55th overall pick. Offensive and defensive lines seem to be the most pressing needs.'

Marker Haslett Sparks Steroid Debate [10:43 PM] reports: 'Haslett indirectly implicated Buffalo center Kent Hull as a beneficiary of steroid use. Hull, contacted in Mississippi by D and C sportswriter Leo Roth, denied ever using steroids. They played together for just a few weeks in training camp in 1986. Haslett was later cut by the Bills.'

Marker Haslett Admits To Steroid Use. Hull Denies He Was Involved [3:13 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Haslett said they introduced a former Bill and USFL lineman to "the pill" and he went from 270 pounds to 305. Haslett called him probably one of the all time greatest players in Bills history. He did not name the player. Kent Hull told Leo Roth of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that the accusation is false and he may have to give Haslett a call. Hull says he's never weighed 300 pounds in his life and he resents the implication by Haslett.'

Marker Bledsoe perturbed by perception that 'he's done' [2:32 PM]
ESPN reports: '"So did I get a raw deal? To a certain extent. There was a shift in philosophy that didn't include helping out the quarterback. It does bother me that a lot of the blame for our lack of success was placed right on my shoulders. But I'm never going to be one of those guys who say that I'm being treated unfairly when I'm playing a game for a living. It didn't work out and am I unhappy about that? Yeah. But I'll never say they did me wrong."'

Marker Report: Haslett tried steroids as a player [2:30 PM]
The Sports Network reports: '"Everybody wanted an advantage, so you tried it. I tried it. Everybody tried it," Haslett said.'

Marker Former linebacker Haslett says he used steroids as NFL player [2:29 PM]
AP reports: 'Haslett played in Buffalo from 1979 to 1985, and finished his career in 1987 with the New York Jets. He said he used steroids for one season early in his career. ''It started, really, in Pittsburgh. They got an advantage on a lot of football teams. They were so much stronger (in the) '70s, late '70s, early '80s,'' Haslett said. ''They're the ones who kind of started it.'''

Marker Bills' Mularkey expects to Henry to report for camp [2:17 PM]
AP reports: '''I know he's frustrated,'' Mularkey told reporters during the NFL owners meetings in Hawaii this week. ''We have done everything we can to really honor his request for a trade. ... Marker Reports: Saints coach Haslett admits to steroid use [1:41 PM]
Sportsticker reports: '"I didn't think it (steroids) was very good for you," Haslett told the Los Angeles Times. "I was hyper all the time. Got bloated, a fat face. But if you didn't (take steroids), you weren't as strong as everybody else, you weren't as fast as everybody else."'

Marker Owners vote yes for safety [8:53 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Cardinals are offering left tackle L.J. Shelton, but the Bills apparently don't feel they are getting a fair exchange with the player-for-player deal. Green is intrigued by Henry's skills. "I think he's tough as hell," Green said. "He's got exceptional balance, which allows a guy to get a lot of yardage. He's smart but powerful, compact, very difficult to tackle. I think he's a good player."'

Marker Vikings spend offseason collecting ex-Bills [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We were really pleased that they wanted to come play for us," Tice said. "Of course, Ted was instrumental in a lot of that because these guys want to come back and play for Ted again."'

Marker Something is better than nothing for Henry [8:50 AM]
Niagara Gazette reports: 'Maybe the Bills can do better than Shelton, who fell out of favor with Arizona coach Dennis Green last season. But if they can’t, getting something for Henry would be better than nothing. Which is exactly what they got for Bledsoe.'

Marker Haslett admits to using steroids [5:28 AM]
Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports: 'He described the introduction of steroids by the Bills to one of their new teammates in the 1980s. "I played with a guy who came into the league, he came out of the USFL," Haslett said. "He was 270, and he would never have made our team if he didn't get up to 300. The linemen got him together, got him a little supplemental pill for the week and he got up to about 305 and made our team. And he's probably one of the all-time great players in Bills history. He was a great player." While his description fits former Bills center Kent Hull, Haslett would not name him. Hull joined the Bills from the USFL New Jersey Generals in 1986 and played 11 seasons in Buffalo.'

Marker Voluntary Conditioning Program Underway [4:21 PM] reports: '"I was kind of surprised on how many people actually came back when I pulled up here Monday," said defensive end Chris Kelsay. "I don't believe we had this many people here last year so it was a pleasant surprise that people are taking it serious that we have a lot of potential."'

Marker Travis Henry's Threat Wishful Thinking [5:04 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'Travis Henry is a quality running back the Bills may or may not be able to receive equal value for. But Henry is in no position to tell the Bills what he will or won’t do.'

Marker Lee Evans Player Diary: A Whirlwind Day [5:01 PM] reports: 'It's really hard to put into words what it feels like waiting to be drafted, but I guess it's similar to when you're a little kid waiting for Christmas to come. Marker Henry More Unhappy, Burns Signs, Wire Restructures [5:21 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The RB claims Arizona offered the Bills LT L.J. Shelton and he doesn't understand why Tom Donahoe hasn't accepted. Henry said, "Arizona has shown interest. They've shown they're ready to pull the trigger. And Donahoe is taking his poor little precious time for some reason.'''

Marker Backup RB Burns re-signs with Bills [9:25 PM]
AP reports: 'Used mostly as a special teams player, Burns had limited carries during his three seasons with the Bills. He had 20 carries for 73 yards rushing including a career-high 27 yards in Buffalo's 38-14 win over Arizona in October and was credited with 22 special teams tackles last season.'

Marker Bills Sign Running Back Joe Burns [4:06 PM] reports: '“Joe is a valuable player who contributes in a lot of different ways for us,” Bills head coach Mike Mularkey said. “He has the ability to play fullback and running back when we need him and is also a valuable player on special teams.
