Marker 5th Down: Where Now? Some FAQ's [12:05 AM] reports: Does that mean this season is not a success? A: That completely depends on your expectations… And admit it, they've changed three or four times already this season. Over the summer, most people outside the team would have been happy with a .500 record by year's end. When the team stumbled off to a haphazard 2-3 start, those expectations lowered a bit. Then the team surged to 5-3, and people suddenly started talking Super Bowl.

Marker Q&A: Monday With Gregg Williams [12:03 AM] reports: Final Three Games "Stranger things have happened. We're not out of it until someone says we're out of it. We've got to control what we do and that's winning this weekend."

The kids earned the visit to the stadium by participating and excelling in the Bills literacy program.

Marker Bills Help Youngsters Manage Cap [12:01 AM] reports: $100 and two hours to shop at Dick's Sporting Goods. That was the dilemma 50 underprivileged kids from the Salvation Army had at Dick's Sporting Goods near the McKinley Mall in Hamburg on Monday night.

Marker NFL keeps eye on Chargers' playoff possibilities [9:30 PM]
AP reports: 'The Chargers hosting a wild card game wouldn't be much of a problem, Steeg said, but hosting the conference championship would be the worst-case scenario.'

Marker Nobody asked but [1:11 PM]
Cape Breton Post reports: 'But in the weeks and months that passed, it has been the manner in which Brady, Belichick and his players have picked Bledsoe and the Bills apart in two meetings this season that now has everyone convinced the Patriots management made the proper decision when they opted to make Brady their pony of choice for the race toward a second successive appearance in the Super Bowl.'

Marker Strong Armed Gambler? [10:05 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'Let’s face it, Tom Brady didn’t even need to get his uniform dry cleaned after his games against the Bills.'

Marker Shop 'til they drop [9:11 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Many of the players were probably still stinging from last Sunday's 27-17 loss to the New England Patriots, but no one could tell. After staring in the wondrous eyes of children, the game hardly mattered.'

Marker Williams' job still at stake down stretch [9:10 AM]
Buffalo News reports: ' Just because the team doesn't quit on its coach, that doesn't mean the owner and the GM will not.'

Marker Winfield sees little hope for playoffs [9:10 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills' streak of sellouts could end this week. Though no ticket information was made available Monday, there were a little less than 13,000 remaining heading into last weekend.'

Marker Chargers shoot for fast finish [9:09 AM]
San Diego Union Tribune reports: 'They've closed a season with three straight wins six times in their 43-year history, the last being 1995, when they overcame a 4-7 record by winning their final five. But since then they've gone 1-2, 0-3, 0-3, 1-2, 0-3 and 0-3 to finish seasons.'

Marker Benching Brees loser's mentality [9:08 AM]
San Diego Union Tribune reports: 'The Chargers are doing the right thing here. Maybe Brees isn't the ultimate answer. Who knows? But if he is the QB of the future, they have to know, and it isn't going to be Flutie. Still, that doesn't mean there aren't times when a change is necessary.'

Marker Improved pass rush would help Bills [5:30 AM]
D and C reports: 'Pressure on the QB is part and parcel to stopping the run. The Bills linebacking corps is a whole other topic of concern, but it starts up front. When star nose tackle Ted Washington was released during the cap purge, Gregg Williams had to lie down before he fainted. He knew the struggles that awaited.'

Marker Math says no playoffs for Bills [5:30 AM]
D and C reports: 'WHO was secretly hoping that San Diego’s Drew Brees suffered some type of injury against the Raiders -- nothing terrible, mind you, but just serious enough for him to miss this game against the Bills and force San Diego to start Doug Flutie in his return to the Ralph. Come on you Flutie Fanatics, admit it.'

Marker Pats find winning formula [5:29 AM]
Boston Herald reports: 'The Bills have been successful because of the big play ability of their quarterback and wide receivers. Both Moulds and Peerless Price have already passed the 1,000-yard mark and came into the game averaging 14 yards a catch. They did have 17 catches between them but Law, Otis Smith and Terrell Buckley combined to limit big plays.'

Marker Brady Bowls Over Bledsoe [5:28 AM]
Hartford Courant reports: 'How would Bledsoe fare against this Bills defense? How would Brady fare against this Patriots defense? We'll never know. All we know is that Brady's Patriots are better than Bledsoe's Bills. Everything else is background noise.'

Marker Humbled McKenzie set for Hall [5:27 AM]
Detroit Free Press reports: 'For about three decades, McKenzie has represented U-M and Highland Park in more impressive ways than this. In 1974, as a star lineman with the Buffalo Bills, McKenzie decided to help his community. So he started a football camp in his hometown of Highland Park, which he proudly calls "the capital of Detroit."'

Marker Levy's Week 14 snapshot [10:40 PM] reports: Do the Patriots have Drew Bledsoe's number?

Bledsoe did some good things, it's just that he is having to force the ball, he is having to be predictable because they were playing from behind all day. He had to be bold, and it didn't work against a pretty good defensive team.

There were five takeaways (four interceptions) in the game and the Bills got none. You can't win, I don't care what the rest of the statistics are.
