Marker Sean McDermott's first coaching staff is set [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The team announced the following hires Thursday, thus completing the staff of Sean McDermott: Chad Hall (offensive assistant), Jim Salgado (defensive assistant). Additionally, Matt Worswick and Laura Young were named assistants to the head coach.'

Marker Bills' chances of landing Tony Romo deemed 'long shot' -- but are they? [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'On the flip side, under the "why this couldn't" work, it says "with the Bills likely to part ways with the quarterback who elevated the offense, ranking ninth in Total QBR in 2016 and seventh in 2015, it's hard to imagine they would then go for Romo: an older quarterback with a history of injuries who hasn't played a full season since 2014."'

Marker Vic Carucci's Bills Mailbag: With Taylor, it's an either-or proposition [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'It's fair to say that, with no clear-cut better alternative at quarterback, Taylor does give the Bills their best immediate chance to be a playoff contender.'

Marker Jay Skurski's 3 Bills thoughts: Why would Tyrod restructure? Trade up, again? A link to a WR? [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'If Taylor hits the open market, he will have suitors. As pointed out Wednesday, Pro Football Focus recently ranked Taylor as the top available quarterback on the open market (provided, of course, he gets there), ahead of Dallas' Tony Romo and New England's Jimmy Garoppolo.'

Marker Buffalo Bills WR Kolby Listenbee ready for 'clean slate' after lost rookie season [1:55 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"For sure," Listenbee said. "I feel like I bring a lot of things to the field and to the team also. I jsut know I just have to work on small things like route running. Well that's a really big thing, and just confidence. Just knowing the whole entire scheme so I can go out there and make plays."'

Marker Buffalo Bills receive 'D' grade for 2016 NFL draft class from NFL.com [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"In many ways," Orr said, "the 2016 draft followed the Rex Ryan playbook closely: defense, defense, defense and a raw, athletic quarterback who entertained Ryan in the lead up to the draft (but one the Bills will never spend the time or effort to develop). In the nicest of possible ways, the Bills could earn a grade of incomplete for their 2016 picks because first-round pick Shaq Lawson made it fewer than 300 snaps with a lingering shoulder issue (he finished with two sacks in 10 games), while second-round pick Reggie Ragland partially tore his ACL and missed the entire season.'

Marker Friday Feels: Five thoughts on the Buffalo Bills [1:53 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'The more the merrier is the way I roll when it comes to the NFL Draft. I’m also a fan of drafting quarterbacks. Trading back, grabbing a QB at some point and outside play makers for both sides of the ball would make me happy. But that’s in a perfect world, and the NFL Draft is rarely that.'

Marker Six quarterbacks who could start for the Buffalo Bills in 2017 [1:52 AM]
Sportsnet reports: 'Should they opt to take a pass on the 2017 QB draft class — or even draft a quarterback and set about bringing him along slowly — here are some veteran options Buffalo could turn to...'.

Marker Staying or Going? Bills OT Jordan Mills [1:51 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'I believe it's best for the Bills to move on from Mills as the starter at right tackle. If they'd like to bring him back to compete to be a depth player on the roster, that isn't out of the question.'

Marker Bills Today: Coaching staff is complete [1:50 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The coaching staff numbers 26 in all counting the strength and conditioning staff. That’s about a half dozen fewer than the previous staff. Special teams coordinator Danny Crossman is the only coach retained from the previous coaching regime.'

Marker Bills' brass has met since last week to decide on Taylor's future [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'In fact, there was a push for rookie quarterback Cardale Jones to supplant Taylor as the starter for the final three or four games of the season, even though the Bills had yet to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Coach Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn were said to have pushed back hard enough for Taylor to remain in the No. 1 role.'

Marker PFF ranks Tyrod Taylor No. 1 available* QB this offseason [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"The Bills structured Taylor’s contract in such a way that there is a significant financial incentive not to keep him, because they have to hand him over $25 million in cash if he remains with Buffalo for the 2017 season," Monson wrote. "The deal itself still only averages out at around $16 million per year over the first three seasons of his extension – which Taylor is clearly worth in the current market – but the fact that it’s so heavily weighted in cash terms for this coming season means there’s a decent chance they balk and cut him loose.'

Marker Are Browns a potential landing spot for Taylor? [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'One, the Browns are searching for a long-term answer at quarterback. Two, Lee is known to have been a strong advocate for Taylor dating back to the 2015 offseason, when he was signed as a free agent to be part of a three-way competition with EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel for the Bills' starting job. Three, Browns coach Hue Jackson is considered a quarterbacking guru capable of getting the most out of players at the position. Last season, he had another quarterback, Robert Griffin III, who, like Taylor, is known for his mobility.'

Marker Mock Draft Roundup II: A look at who's being projected to the Bills [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"Mitch Trubisky or DeShone Kizer could be in play here, depending on what happens with Tyrod Taylor. But the Bills have four WRs hitting free agency and would fill an immediate void with Williams. The Clemson standout has a good size-speed combination and shows the ability to create late separation when the ball is in the air."'

Marker Eagles cut former Bills CB Leodis McKelvin [1:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Cutting McKelvin -- who was ranked 71st among cornerbacks by the analytics website Pro Football Focus -- will save the Eagles $3.2 million. Philadelphia is tight against the salary cap and is expected to make more cap-related cuts soon.'

Marker 2017 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay has Buffalo Bills passing on QB Mitch Trubisky [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"Mitch Trubisky or DeShone Kizer could be in play here, depending on what happens with Tyrod Taylor. But the Bills have four WRs hitting free agency and would fill an immediate void with Williams. The Clemson standout has a good size-speed combination and shows the ability to create late separation when the ball is in the air."'

Marker Buffalo Bills named a 'best fit' for Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Mahomes isn't like most Texas Tech QBs. Many quarterbacks produce in Texas Tech's Air Raid system, but Mahomes has the arm strength and athleticism to succeed in the NFL. Mahomes is currently projected as a day two pick in the NFL draft.'

Marker Mock watch 2.0: Mixed bag of options for Bills at 10 [1:52 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'Here’s a second look around predominate NFL mock drafts...'.

Marker Top 5 Buffalo Bills players 25-and-under [1:51 AM]

Marker NFL: Help Bills ‘reverse the curse’ [1:50 AM]
Dunkirk Observer reports: 'Seventeen years have come and gone since the last time the Buffalo Bills made the playoffs. It’s also been 17 years since the Bills practiced at SUNY Fredonia.'

Marker Staying or Going? Bills DT Corbin Bryant [1:49 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'The Bills should bring Bryant back this offseason because he is a known commodity that can work in this scheme as a rotational player at least.'

Marker Bills 2017 slate features matchups with NFL’s top QBs [1:48 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The other two quarterbacks on the Bills schedule with top 10 passer ratings also come to Buffalo in Oakland’s Derek Carr, who had a better than 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio last season. Andrew Luck will lead the Colts into Buffalo this coming fall as well after throwing for more than 4,200 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2016.'

Marker Bills Today: Ihedigbo hoping for a return to Buffalo [1:47 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“I spoke with Sean (McDermott) and my (coordinator) as well,” said Ihedigbo in an appearance on the John Murphy Show. “I would definitely love to be back in Buffalo. I think I meshed well with the guys. This team is a young team and so talented. I think we’re so close to winning. The talent is there. I think we have to continue to solidify that leadership.'

Marker Bills confirm hiring of Gill Byrd as coaching staff nears completion [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'In addition to Byrd, the Bills announced the hiring of Bobby Babich as the assistant defensive backs coach. Babich is the son of Bills linebackers coach Bob Babich. They younger Babich spent 2016 as the secondary coach/defensive pass game coordinator for Florida International. Prior to that, he worked as the assistant secondary coach for the Cleveland Browns from 2013-15. He also spent two years on the Carolina Panthers' coaching staff as a defensive assistant while McDermott was the defensive coordinator there.'

Marker With Gill Byrd in the fold, could Jairus Byrd be next? [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Safety figures to be a big priority for the Bills this offseason. Aaron Williams' playing future still has not been determined, and fellow starter Corey Graham is heading into the final year of his contract. Playing under his father could have some appeal to Byrd, but if history tells us anything, that decision will come down to money.'

Marker Self-deprecating Rex replaces outrageous Rex in ESPN tryout [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“True to my prediction, I would be in the Super Bowl,” said Ryan. “I guaranteed I’d be there and here it is … I guess it is a little different.”'

Marker Gill Byrd has been hired to coach Bills defensive backs [1:56 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Byrd is entering his 13th season as an NFL coach, though he was out of football in 2016. Byrd coached cornerbacks for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014-15, and prior to that coached for the Chicago Bears from 2006-2012 and started his coaching career with the St. Louis Rams in 2003.'

Marker Lone Bills fan protests Patriots Super Bowl win [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I'm just a strong Bills fan and I'm just like disgusted with the Super Bowl," said Brian Holloway, a driver for Rochester Pedal Tours. "I wanted to show up to protest with a lot of other upset Americans. Even though it is only me, one is better than none."'

Marker Bills offseason dates 2017: Stephon Gilmore franchise tag, Tyrod Taylor option, more [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'The most important decision, however, concerns quarterback Tyrod Taylor. The Bills have to decide whether to pick up the option on his contract by March 11. Monday marked the first day the Bills could release Taylor, who is currently rehabbing from offseason groin surgery. He started 29 games the last two seasons and would have a cap hit of just under $16 million if the Bills bring him back in 2017.'

Marker Buffalo Bills among league's bottom-dwellers in ESPN's way-too-early power rankings [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"The Bills have moved on to their eighth coach since they last made a playoff appearance in 1999," Seifert said. Sean McDermott has a defensive background -- much like Rex Ryan, Dick Jauron, Gregg Williams and Wade Phillips before him -- but what the Bills really need to focus on is their offense. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor has shown some promise, but the front-office decision to bench him in Week 17 suggests the team will commence yet another offseason search for a quarterback. The cycle continues in Buffalo."'
