Marker Here's a possible draft scenario, but don't mock me [11:26 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: @ When Buffalo signed Denver LT Trey Teague, it could have signaled that the Bills will not take one of the two outstanding tackles available in this draft. They have a rising star on the right side in second-year tackle Jonas Jennings, so perhaps it's a hint they'll take Oregon QB Joey Harrington or trade out of the spot. We're saying they're taking Harrington.

Marker Bills kicker options evaporating quickly [10:19 AM]
ESPN reports: 10. Special opportunities: The Bills still need to get a kicker but the options are evaporating quickly. Expect Gary Anderson to re-sign in Minnesota and Steve Christie to go to San Diego.

Marker Bills retain all three young cornerbacks [8:23 PM]
ESPN reports: 'The Buffalo Bills have retained a key element of their young secondary, reaching contract accord with three-year veteran cornerback Chris Watson, a restricted free agent. By re-signing Watson, the No. 3 cornerback on the roster, the Bills keep intact one of the NFL's best young corner corps. Watson is a top "nickel" player and the prime backup to starters Antoine Winfield and Nate Clements. None of the three is older than 24 and all are excellent in coverage.'

Marker Vic Carucci Live Chat transcript [4:38 PM] reports: On Trey Teague signing: This signing definitely diminishes the need for an offensive tackle. It's a great pickup because the Bills now have a known quantity, a player with experience who doesn't have to be broken in as a rookie would. I think they could concentrate on a defensive lineman and/or a safety in the first round.

Marker Speed is only a factor if it is functional speed [2:34 PM]
ESPN reports: Buffalo general manager Tom Donahoe, one of the NFL's premier talent scouts, continues to insist the 40 times is only a small part of a player's résumé. He recalled that former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll won four Super Bowl championships by stressing "playing strength and playing speed."

Speed is only a factor, Donahoe said, if it is functional speed. If a player runs 4.2 on a track but plays at 4.7 once he puts on he pads, the dropoff in efficiency is significant. "You look at a kid on tape and he's making all kinds of plays," Donahoe said. "But then you time him and he's kind of average. Does that make him a different player because he didn't run fast that one day? We don't think so. We try to look at the entire picture."

Marker Will Blake make the roster? [2:02 PM]
WKBW reports: @ The Bills probably will know by the middle of the week whether they'll have quarterback Jeff Blake on the roster. His agent says Blake is a day or two away from deciding where to go.

Marker First hand account of Buffalo Bills Booster Meeting [9:45 AM]
The Stadium Wall reports: Marques Sullivan spoke, prior to the news of Trey Teague. He is HUGE, and seems very shy. He just got back to Buffalo on Monday so he didn't have much news to pass along.

Tony Driver has been here all along, and what a nice guy he is. Got into the crowd and joked with a lot of the people, and even hassled Sullivan with some questions. Driver says his ACL is coming along ahead of schedule and the trainers are pulling back the reigns a bit to ensure he heals correctly. He won't participate heavily in the mini-camps.

Both seem to be tremendous representatives for the Buffalo Bills. Both were very positive with the moves that have been made in the off-season, and both emphasized that Bills fans will not be disappointed.

Marker Bills reach deal with Denver tackle [9:01 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Teague approved a four-year deal worth a total of about $10 million that includes a two-tiered signing bonus, the source said. Teague will get a signing bonus of about $1.5 million this year. If the Bills are satisfied with him, they have the option of giving him a second signing bonus before next season.'

Marker DTs Bills may nab in the draft [8:00 AM]
Shout! reports: @ Defensive tackle is a high priority, seeing that teams could bust through the middle on Buffalo all last season without someone such as Ted Washington. That doesn't mean, however, Buffalo will go for someone the size of Washington - remember Gregg Williams doesn't like fat guys.

Marker Bills lure Teague with more guaranteed money [5:18 AM]
Denver Rocky Mountain News reports: 'Teague, an unrestricted free agent, agreed to terms Tuesday with the Buffalo Bills. The four-year deal is worth about $10 million and includes a two-tiered signing bonus. Teague will receive $1.5 million to sign this year and another $2 million or so if the Bills opt to pick up the remaining three years of his contract after the season.'

Marker Losing Teague makes Broncos shuffle [5:17 AM]
Denver Post reports: 'They spent much of the past two days pondering whether to increase their offer to Teague, who started all 16 games last season at left tackle. They allowed Teague to go to a Bills team that needed help on its offensive line and had been projected to use the No. 4 pick in next month's draft on one of college football's two premier tackles, Mike Williams of Texas or Bryant McKinnie of Miami.'

Marker Second time is the charm for Bengals, Burris [10:09 PM]
ESPN reports: @ A former Notre Dame star, Burris entered the NFL as a first-round choice of the Buffalo Bills in 1994. He played four seasons in Buffalo before signing with the Colts as a free agent in 1998.

Marker Out of Bounds: An interview with Nick Bakay [10:08 PM]
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports: ESPN sportswriter talks about his feelings about the Sabres and Bills. "For me, the worse Super Bowl was when the Bills played the Cowboys in Pasadena, Calif. (Super Bowl XXVI), because not only did they get trounced, when the whole second half is like an arena football game for the other team, it's just so bad."

Marker Promising offensive tackle Teague to sign with Bills [7:29 PM]
ESPN reports: 'By acquiring Teague, the Bills provide themselves with plenty of options in the 2002 draft. The conventional wisdom has been that general manager Tom Donahoe will take one of two standout offensive tackle prospects, either Mike Williams of Texas or Miami's Bryant McKinnie, with the fourth overall choice next month.'

Marker All about cornerback Pierson Priolea [3:30 PM] reports: Q: If you could do any job for one day, what would it be? A: I would want to work in a Toll Booth because I've always wondered how they made it.

Marker 10 Worst choke artists of all-time [3:24 PM]
ESPN reports: 8. 1992-93 Houston Oilers
Up 35-3 at halftime against the Buffalo Bills in an AFC wild-card game, the Oilers managed to turn backup Bills quarterback Frank Reich into a one-day folk hero by losing 41-38 in OT, the biggest in-game turnaround in NFL history. This was particularly painful, since the Oilers never made the Super Bowl during their years in Houston.

Marker Offensive line straightening out [3:22 PM]
Denver Post reports: And the Broncos could find out today whether offensive tackle Trey Teague will re-sign or accept a more lucrative offer from the Buffalo Bills. Teague's agent, Kyle Rote, said Monday his client was about ready to make his decision.

Marker Sleepers for latter rounds [11:19 AM]
ESN reports: Looking for some sleepers for the Bills on draft day? Try some of these for the later rounds:
Brian Westbrook of Villanova, who fits into the category of kickoff and punt returner. He also fits as a pass-catching back.
Cliff Russell of Utah, possibly the fastest receiver available. He played for Fred Graves, the Bills receivers coach.
Kyle Johnson of Syracuse, if the Bills are looking for a traditional fullback. The Orangemen considered him a winner.
Richard Williams of Gardner Webb, who started out as a defensive lineman, switched to offensive tackle and is seen as an NFL guard. He needs polish but his plusses are tenacity and athleticism.
Greg Scott of Hampton. He is fast, strong and needs polish.
