Marker Tyrod Taylor must take steps forward for Bills [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“Being the quarterback, guys look to you for motivation, they look to you for a number of things,” he said. “But more so, the execution starts with you. If you can get everybody in the right place, if you’re going out there and executing at a high level each and every play, the guys can trust you and rely on you. So it starts with me and I have to lead by example out there on the field and continue to spread the message to my teammates, offense and defense.”'

Marker Bills not among teams with interest in Foles [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'General Manager Doug Whaley has made no secret about the tremendous amount of faith he has in Manuel as a backup. He has gone as far as to describe him as the best No. 2 QB in the NFL.'

Marker Power Take: Listenbee, Goodwin could give Bills no speed limit [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Defensive coordinators are going to play a safety over the top of Sammy Watkins a lot. But if Listenbee or Goodwin is a legitimate threat on the other side, opposing defensive coordinators will experience extreme pucker factor. I have to defend elite speed on both sides of the field? And I have to worry about LeSean McCoy’s elite speed? If the defense has to respect all three of those speed options, it will be as if the field is 70 yards wide and 120 yards long. It would give Buffalo a critical mass of elite speed.'

Marker Power Take: Woods doesn’t look the part of No. 2 receiver [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Defenses will double Sammy Watkins and dare Taylor to make tough throws. He needs another playmaking wideout. Woods doesn’t fit the bill.'

Marker Get to know the Bills' opponents: Offseason recap of the Cleveland Browns [1:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'How many of the Browns' 14 draft picks will stick on the 53-man roster. Answering that question will begin to show just how far along the Browns' rebuild really is.'

Marker Ragged defense gets Ragland [1:54 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“We’re in the elevator and my dad goes, ‘My son is going to be the next Bruce Smith,’ " Ragland said of the chance encounter. “It’s crazy how it worked out. I’m going to play like Bruce, be like Bruce, but at the same time I know I have to create my own legacy.’''

Marker Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in free agent QB Nick Foles [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Foles would be an upgrade, though maybe not a drastic one. After a breakout season in 2013 in which he threw 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions, Foles has come back down to earth. He's started just 19 games the last two seasons and thrown 20 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.'

Marker Bills' Sammy Watkins says foot is healed heading into camp, plays pickup basketball [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"With this injury it's more mental than physical," Watkins said. "There's going to be good days and bad days, but I feel great."'

Marker Here are 5 players who could make or break the Bills in 2016 [1:51 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'Break: For a guy who’s as proven as Shady, it comes down to staying healthy. In one year as a Bill, Shady’s headlines have included the words ankle, hamstring, knee, and shoulder, to name a few.'

Marker Football is back! Sort of... [1:50 AM]
Livingston County News reports: 'The offense should be good enough to catapult the Bills into the playoffs. It’s the defense that remains the biggest question mark, and the success of the Bills will largely be defined by their performance on that side of the ball.'

Marker New Patriots receiver Chris Hogan on why he wanted out of Buffalo [1:49 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: '“I think I just needed a change. I wanted to get out. I kind of got a little complacent where I was, and this really has kind of (been) a rebirth of me as a football player.”'

Marker Ryan banking on rookies to shore up defense [1:48 AM]
SI reports: 'The first three games against the Colts, Giants and Redskins give Ryan’s defense a chance to get reps against some dangerous passing games. Will the unit be able to get consistent pressure on Luck, Manning and Cousins in the short time it’s on the field against them?'

Marker Bills training camp preview: Defensive Backs (CB and S) [1:47 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'It appears as though Gilmore is healthy and ready to go, but we won’t know until we actually see him on the field after recovering from shoulder surgery. That is, assuming he will even be at camp as he could possibly make a statement about his contractual situation. I expect him to be there day one, or shortly after if he misses any time at all. And as soon as he is, he’s immediately the team’s number one CB with Darby right behind him and lined up across from him. Last year, that tandem made up one of the best duos in the league and both will get the unquestioned starters’ reps at Fisher.'

Marker Ryan: Adolphus to get First-Team Reps in Training Camp [1:46 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I think a veteran guy needs to probably be in that leadership role for the Bills to sign, but I'm looking forward to what they have. It's not like they don't have running backs back there. There are young guys, are you looking for a veteran guy? I don't know. At this point I would maybe just wait and see," he said.'

Marker Expectations among Bills staff are high [1:45 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"We went in [to minicamp" target="_blank"> with the idea that we're going to get better, focus more, and learn our assignments to the best of our abilities, and we did that," Ryan said on the John Murphy Show on Thursday afternoon at training camp. "As we were leaving, it was like, 'Man, I guess we got this little bump in the road called summer vacation.' Everybody looks forward to it, but to me, I couldn't wait for [training camp" target="_blank">, to get back with the players. It's good that they get away a little bit, but they did so well. I just can't wait to see how we are, and if, in fact, we're taking off from where we left off."'

Marker Thurman Thomas Weighs in Taylor, Bush, Drought [1:44 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I think a veteran guy needs to probably be in that leadership role for the Bills to sign, but I'm looking forward to what they have. It's not like they don't have running backs back there. There are young guys, are you looking for a veteran guy? I don't know. At this point I would maybe just wait and see," he said.'

Marker Report: Bills one of likely landing spots for QB Nick Foles [1:43 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'The move obviously wouldn't impact Taylor's status as the starting quarterback by any means. He would at worst be competing for the backup job held by Manuel, in which the former first-round pick failed to impress the coaching staff in his two starts during the 2015 campaign.'

Marker Kim Pegula on Bills 2016 expectations: 'Win' [1:42 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: '"Win. Winning," she started off. "We're expecting wins."'

Marker Greenville's Zimmer gets his NFL shot [1:41 AM]
WZZM-TV reports: '"I mean everybody is just massive on the offensive and defensive lines and you think because they are so big they aren't going to be as quick." says Zimmer, "but they are just as quick too."'

Marker When will Sammy Watkins get the green light? [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I think I’ve been doing a great job playing with the injuries and little nicks and bruises. I’m not going to be the last person in this world that plays football that has an injury or plays with injuries. … I don’t care what nobody else says. As long as the staff, this organization, my teammates trust in me and have got my back, I really don’t care.”'

Marker Bills, Taylor talking 'frequently' about contract extension [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'From Taylor's perspective, he and his representative, Adisa Bakari, clearly have to believe the standard for an extension was established with the $18-million-per-year deal Brock Osweiler signed with the Houston Texans after making his first seven career starts with the Denver Broncos last season.'

Marker Get to know the Bills' opponents: Offseason recap of the Pittsburgh Steelers [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'How much better will the secondary be? The Steelers ranked 30th in the NFL against the pass last season, and addressed that by spending their first two picks of the draft on defensive backs. Will that be enough? Pittsburgh likely is comfortable with getting into shootouts with teams because of its high-powered offense, but improving the secondary could push the Steelers from a playoff team to a Super Bowl contender.'

Marker Ed Reed: Former star is pied piper of Bills' coaches [1:56 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“He’s more like the pied piper, people follow him,” Ryan said of Reed, who he coached for seven years in Baltimore and for the last half of the 2013 season in New York when Reed closed out his magnificent career with the Jets. “And that was even when he wasn’t the dominant player that he used to be with Baltimore,” Ryan continued. “When I had him with the Jets, he took that whole group and they’d follow him. They all want part of that wisdom he has and I thought for our team, you can’t have a better guy.”'

Marker What role would Reggie Bush play on the Bills? [1:55 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Obviously McCoy’s spot is safe, and it would appear Gillislee’s is, as well, knowing what he did in his limited time towards the end of last season. Karlos Williams is facing a four-game suspension and after showing up out of shape and overweight to minicamp, some have speculated his roster status could be in jeopardy. However, since Williams won’t count against the final 53-man roster during his suspension, there’s really no reason to make that move until after he’s eligible to return and surveying the situation at that time. Unless, of course, the team is totally convinced he won’t be able to get back on the right track long-term.'

Marker Bills training camp preview: Defensive Ends and Linebackers [1:54 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Don't be surprised to see Douzable getting more reps then you might anticipate, at least near the start. He played for Rex Ryan with the Jets and knows his scheme, giving him an early leg-up on some others in camp.'

Marker Drought, politics have put Doug Whaley under pressure [1:53 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Things have gone awry when Whaley has tried too hard to sound GM-ish. It isn’t a place he’s comfortable. When Whaley wanted to project that he wasn’t concerned about Sammy Watkins’ injury history, it came off as exactly the opposite. The “humans shouldn’t play football” quote doesn’t make you feel more confident that Watkins’ foot will heal properly. And we all know the idea of Watkins missing time scares the hell out of Whaley (and every other Bills fan, coach, front office person).'

Marker Bills training camp preview: Defensive Line [1:52 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Zimmer will probably have to show what he can do mostly on special teams, but if any injuries occur ahead of him, he’ll get his chances to impress, as well. He could ultimately be a perfect practice squad candidate, but he’ll be a player that will get noticed at camp because of his strength and athleticism.'

Marker 9 Bills questions heading into training camp [1:51 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Known around the locker room as a great teammate and a hard worker, Manuel will have his chance during preseason this year to impress not only the Bills, but future employers in the NFL as well. His NFL story isn't over by any means, he's got enough to work with to land elsewhere. However, as far as the Bills are concerned, 2016 is likely to be the swan song for Manuel.'

Marker Rams cut QB Nick Foles, should the Bills sign him? [1:50 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'By no means am I a proponent of Nick Foles. In fact, I remained unimpressed with Foles even immediately after his unbelievable run with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013. To me, he was the byproduct of Chip Kelly's system going unchecked in the head coach's first year in the NFL.'
