Marker Lucas blames himself -- and he's right [5:22 AM]
Palm Beach Post reports: 'Not the worst in NFL history, maybe, but bad enough.'

Marker Cautious Chambers sits out [5:21 AM]
Palm Beach Post reports: '"I just wanted to be smart about it and be safe," Chambers said. "There was no reason to take a risk."'

Marker Already a lot expected of Carter [5:20 AM]
Palm Beach Post reports: 'Cris Carter was about the only topic to bring a smile to Zach Thomas' face Sunday.'

Marker Playing catch-up limits Williams' day [5:19 AM]
Palm Beach Post reports: 'Following Sunday's four-interception outing by Ray Lucas, Bills counterpart and former New England teammate Drew Bledsoe gave words of encouragement. "Ray is a good guy, he's a good player and I just told him to keep his head up, keep his confidence up," said Bledsoe, who was Lucas' teammate in 1996.'

Marker 'Worst in NFL history' [5:18 AM]
Orlando Sentinel reports: '"As high as I was before the game, that's how low I am now," Lucas said in an emotional news conference following the loss.'

Marker Travis not so Minor on his kick returns [5:17 AM]
Orlando Sentinel reports: 'The Bills reached a point where they attempted to kick short and force a less-threatening player to handle the ball rather than Minor. It only worked once when Jed Weaver, a tight end, handled the ball.'

Marker Dolphins Make Bills Look Good [5:16 AM]
Tampa Tribune reports: '``I was going to run,'' Lucas said of the second. ``Then I stopped myself from running and I threw it. As soon as I let go I knew he was going to pick it. Then I got hit in the mouth. I deserved to get hit in the mouth on that play.'''

Marker Lucas feels both the high and the low in Dolphins' loss [5:15 AM]
Naples Daily News reports: 'The Dolphins had an opportunity to be 6-1, and more importantly 3-0 in the division, heading into the bye week. Instead, they're 5-2 and 2-1, and face road games at Green Bay on a Monday night and at the Jets with Lucas still at the helm.'

Marker Lucas throws four interceptions in first Miami start [5:14 AM]
Stuart News reports: '"He had a tough day," Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt would say later, "and he knows it."'

Marker Lucas, Dolphins stumble in loss to Bills [5:13 AM]
Florida Today reports: 'Ray Lucas did the impossible Sunday. He actually made Miami Dolphins fans yearn for Jay Fiedler.'

Marker Lucas rips his own performance in loss to Buffalo [5:12 AM]
Florida Today reports: '"I don't think there's ever been a case where one guy lost a game for his teammates -- except today," he said.'

Marker Carter could join Dolphins today [5:11 AM]
Florida Today reports: '"I'm going to meet with Cris tomorrow and we'll see where it goes from there," Wannstedt said after the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills 23-10 on Sunday at Pro Player Stadium.'

Marker Bye week bound to help Dolphins heal [5:10 AM]
Florida Today reports: 'The six turnovers were the most by a Miami team since it committed seven in a 62-7 divisional playoff loss at Jacksonville on Jan. 15, 2000. It was the most in the regular season since they also committed six in a 38-16 loss at Atlanta on Dec. 27, 1998.'

Marker Lucas Struggles After Fast Start for Dolphins [5:09 AM]
New York Times reports: 'As defensive end Pat Williams headed to the Buffalo Bills' locker room today, he shouted, "Miami's overrated! Miami's overrated!" And Williams did not soften that stance later. "Yeah, they're overrated," he said after the Bills' 23-10 victory before 73,180 at Pro Player Stadium. "That was our home field out there. We had the dark colors and they had the white jerseys on, but this was our home field today."'

Marker Choosing up sides - after Bledsoe, Bills win [5:08 AM]
Boston Globe reports: 'What you saw in the Bills' upset of the Dolphins on the road was your worst nightmare realized.'

Marker Picks and pans: Give Miami a thumbs down [5:07 AM]
Boston Globe reports: 'In the meantime, though, there are few targets left for Lucas, and that left him wearing an oversized bull's-eye. Buffalo kept up the pressure and Lucas was cooked, throwing four interceptions (three to Nate Clements), missing open receivers, botching snaps, and failing to execute a clean handoff to Ricky Williams, resulting in a rally-killing fourth-quarter fumble.'

Marker Drew's day one Brady would love [5:06 AM]
Boston Herald reports: 'There's an irony Brady should appreciate. Bledsoe's leading the NFL in most passing categories. Yet Drew's least productive game of the season was his easiest - not to mention the Bills' easiest win.'

Marker Buffalo Paints Miami Blue [5:05 AM]
Washington Post reports: 'If the game proved a dreadful debut for Lucas, who completed as many passes to Bills cornerback Nate Clements (three) as he did to any Dolphins receiver, Buffalo's players hoped it signaled something more promising for them: That they have completed their rebound from a poor season last year, finally returning to contender status and perhaps symbolically passing the reeling Dolphins, one of their most heated AFC rivals, on their way up.'

Marker Vic Carucci: Bills Suddenly A Force [10:15 PM] reports: Buffalo 23, Miami 10: For a change, Drew Bledsoe didn\'t have to carry the Bills on his ample shoulders. For a change, defense carried the load and made the difference in a victory that suddenly elevates the Bills from an exciting middle-of-the-road club to a force in a division the Dolphins had seemingly clutched by the throat.

Marker Bills-Dolphins Postgame Quotebook [10:10 PM] reports: Coach Gregg Williams: "We wanted to make sure that he (Ray Lucas) stayed in the pocket and throw the football. We felt we would do a pretty good job in coverage and we did that today. Nate (Clements) had some good plays, but could have had some more. We left some plays on the field that I wish we could have got. It was a good team win."

Marker Mike Doser: Reliving Clements game-winning score [9:54 PM]
Shout! reports: Dolphins' ball, third and 9 from the Miami 21, two minutes, 33 seconds remaining in the second quarter, game tied at 10.

Marker 'D' helps Bills squish the fish [9:21 PM]
D and C reports: Taking advantage of an erratic effort by Miami backup Ray Lucas, the Bills came up with four interceptions -- their first this season -- and recovered two fumbles to beat the Dolphins 23-10 Sunday.

Marker Bledsoe, Bills surprise Dolphins [9:21 PM] wire reports reports: The Buffalo Bills had the better quarterback, which was no surprise. They also had the better defense, which was a shock.

Marker An ugly afternoon [6:27 PM]
Dolphin Digest reports: 'Making his first start in place of injured starting Jay Fiedler, Lucas turned in one of the most disastrous performances ever by a Dolphins quarterback.'

Marker Bills 23, Dolphins 10 [4:35 PM]
AP reports: 'It's official: The Buffalo Bills are better than a year ago.'

Marker Buffalo 23, Miami 10 [4:34 PM]
Sportsticker reports: 'The Bills (4-3) came in having allowed a startling 34 points per game and were missing injured cornerback Antoine Winfield from the NFL's only secondary without an interception this season. However, Lucas was unable to develop any rhythm following an early touchdown drive.'

Marker Game Notebook at Miami Dolphins [4:23 PM] reports: Nate Clements: Recorded the Bills first INT of the season and the fourth of his career (first vs. Miami) when he picked off Ray Lucas at the Buffalo 14; the theft not only killed a Miami drive in the red zone but set up another as the Bills scored two plays later on a 70-yard Bledsoe-to-Moulds TD pass…then recorded his second INT of the first half later in the second quarter and returned it 29 yards for a TD that put the Bills up 17-10…

Marker Pregame Notebook at Miami Dolphins [3:54 PM] reports: The home team has won 8 of the past 11 in the series… the team that has won the turnover battle has won 10 of the past 11… Drew Bledsoe has passed for 4,208 yards vs. the Dolphins, his most vs. any opponent… Travis Henry has rushed for 97 yards on 19 carries (5.1 avg) with 1 TD in only career meeting with Dolphins.

Marker O'Shei's Three Keys to the Game [12:05 PM] reports: The Buffalo Bills are 3-3; the Miami Dolphins, 5-1. Do the math: A Buffalo win would put the Bills within one game of the Dolphins, who stand atop the AFC East. Right now, a playoff berth for the Bills stands as a possibility—no more, no less. A win over Miami, however, could push the Bills far deeper into the hunt.

Marker Bills' gamble paying off [10:17 AM]
Springfield Union News reports: 'But while most organizations found reasons they could not chase after Bledsoe, the Bills found one reason why they had to pursue him: winning.'
