Marker TE Everett Sidelined with Knee Injury [7:07 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Coach Mike Mularkey said after practice Saturday that the team will wait for the swelling to go down, possibly by mid-week, before evaluating it to determine the extent of the injury.'

Marker Losman loose in first practices as Bills' starter [3:05 PM]
AP reports: 'Besides having to learn the playbook, Losman's top priority has been to earn the respect of his teammates and coaches, and show he's capable of taking over the most high profile job in a football-mad town. So far so good.'

Marker Inside slant [3:01 PM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'A case of passing game overkill? When a team finishes ranked 27th in passing, probably not. But before exploring too deeply why Buffalo took a tight end with its second overall pick, it really came down to this simple fact: Coach Mike Mularkey couldn't have lived with himself had he let the 6-5, 241-pound Everett pass him by. Mularkey played nine seasons in the NFL as a tight end but he wasn't blessed with Everett's natural athleticism.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [3:00 PM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Unrestricted free agents: LS Bradford Banta; WR Drew Haddad; OT Marcus Price; OL Mike Pucillo (not tendered as RFA); FS Izell Reese.'

Marker Notes, quotes [2:59 PM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Scouts love it when one of "their" guys gets drafted and that was certainly the case for Bills scout Joe Haering. "This one's personal," he said after Buffalo took Vanderbilt guard/center Justin Geisinger in the sixth round. Geisinger's high school coach at Mt. Lebanon High in Pittsburgh was Chris Haering, Joe's nephew. "He's what we're looking for in the kind of people they want to build the offensive line around," Joe Haering said. "He's tough and very smart. He's a typical Pittsburgh kid, in a good way."'

Marker Losman grabs the reins on the first day [2:49 PM]
Tonawanda News reports: '“I think the three months has been a positive, no question about it,” Mularkey said after Friday’s afternoon session. “His presence in the huddle, his play-calling, his cadence — all the little things people take for granted, he’s doing very well right now. “I liked what I saw."

Marker Out of film room and on to field [8:54 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I was excited actually for the coaches to call the plays just so I could show the players I know my plays," Losman said. "Last year it was like, "OK, J.P.'s in. Here we go. Y'know. I don't know what he's going to call, and if he calls it, we don't know if it's going to be right.' "'

Marker Rookie tight end Everett injures knee [8:54 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Bills coach Mike Mularkey said he wouldn't know the full extent of Everett's injury until today, but doesn't think it is as serious as it looked.'

Marker Vincent applauds NFL's policy on steroids [5:08 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"The leadership of the NFLPA and the league office, we stand behind our policy," Vincent said on Friday at Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the Bills kicked off a three-day minicamp. "We know our program is strong. The commissioner has mentioned the numbers of cases we've had and the fact there have been no repeat offenders. We know our system works. We know our policy works. If I'm sitting at that table, I'm saying the same thing."'

Marker Northern Illinois NFL Free Agent List Climbs To Eight [9:56 PM]
NIUHuskies.com reports: '“The Buffalo tight end coach (Mike Miller) called during the fifth round of the draft,” Cieslak said. “They (Bills) thought I was a good fit for them. They don’t really have a blocking tight end who can catch the ball. They want me as an intermediate receiver and maybe on special teams wherever I fit in. Buffalo is looking for a physical tight end.”'

Marker Joe Rheem joins Bills [9:50 PM]
Wichita Eagle reports: 'Rheem appeared in 42 games with the Wildcats. He made 38 of 49 field-goal attempts and 173 of 183 PATs. He was 37 of 38 on PATs his senior season. Rheem's brother, Jamie, also kicked for K-State and signed with 49ers in 2001 but was injured in camp and never played.'

Marker Minicamp Begins with Losman at QB [9:30 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"It was exciting," said Losman. "I've been telling everyone I got, I got, it in the film room but you never know until you come out here. Today we had some blitz reads that we did and everything went smooth so it went good. I feel like I got it. I was nervous myself to see if I could actually do it now that I know the whole offense as opposed to last year. I felt great and I can't wait to strap it up for real."'

Marker Henry Is AWOL. Everett Hurts His Knee [9:23 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Travis Henry was a no show and will be "disciplined" according to Mike Malarkey. Henry has said numerous times he will never come back. Shane Matthews was also missing trying to iron out a few minor details on his contract.'

Marker Bills TE Everett twists left knee [9:19 PM]
AP reports: 'Everett, Buffalo's third-round pick in the NFL draft, was hurt when he made a catch and his foot appeared to stick in the turf as he planted to turn. He sat on the ground in obvious pain, slapping the turf in frustration, before the team's trainers helped lift him into a cart.'

Marker Bills to discipline Henry for missing minicamp [9:17 PM]
AP reports: '``I know that he made the statement that he was not going to show. I held out a glimmer of hope, but it did not happen,'' Mularkey said. ``He's under contract and he should be here.'''

Marker Bills Open Mini-Camp [4:46 PM]
RNews.com reports: '“The difference between college is night and day,” explained wide receiver Roscoe Parrish, Buffalo’s second round draft pick. “The periods move real quickly, there's less mistakes, they do it one time, not really over and over again. So the intensity of the practice goes by real fast. So you just got to know what you're doing and they move on to the next play as quickly as possible.”'

Marker Bills bolster defense with undrafted free agents [1:52 PM]
AP reports: 'The Bills were successful with last year's undrafted rookie signings when they had five players make the active roster last season.'

Marker RB Henry no-show at Bills' mandatory minicamp [1:52 PM]
AP reports: 'Coach Mike Mularkey was scheduled to address reporters later in the day.'

Marker Bills Announce Free Agent Signings [11:51 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The Bills today announced that the team has signed the following undrafted rookie free agents...'.

Marker A-Train makes a stop at The Ralph [8:52 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'He's a two-time 1,000-yard rusher who lost his job to a younger, higher-regarded player and is looking for a fresh start with a new team. We're not talking about Travis Henry. It's Anthony Thomas, who paid the Buffalo Bills a visit Thursday.'

Marker Bills love Everett's talent [5:17 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"With Kevin, we've seen flashes of things he's capable of doing," Mularkey said. "I'm going to work with him, and (assistant) Mike Miller, and we're anxious. We think he's got some skills that are rare for that position."'

Marker RB Thomas visits Bills for possible backup job [5:17 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'His production has steadily declined, however, in part due to finger and foot injuries. Last season Thomas lost his starting job to free agent Thomas Jones and finished the year with 404 yards on 122 attempts, both career lows.'

Marker Glover agrees to deal with Bills [5:16 AM]
Lubbock Avalanche Journal reports: 'Glover caught 62 passes for 660 yards and one touchdown last year, when he missed the final month of the regular season with a broken foot.'

Marker Hawkins, Glover get free agent contracts [5:15 AM]
Texas Tech University Daily reports: 'Glover is in the history books as one of the most productive receivers at Tech. Somewhat undersized, he tallied 2,725 yards and 21 touchdown receptions. He finished his career one short of tying the school record for touchdown catches. He also was a vital part of the offense that became the first in NCAA history to record three receivers with 1,000-plus yards and five receivers with at least 70 catches.'

Marker A-Train Stops in Buffalo [10:12 PM]
RNews.com reports: 'He played four seasons in Chicago rushing for over 3,000 and scored 21 touchdowns.'

Marker The A-Train Chugs Into Town [10:11 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Thomas said he liked his visit with Mike Mularkey and Tom Donahoe. He said he was told he would get playing time and doesn't consider himself a backup or a starter. As we've found out with the Bills trying to trade Travis Henry, there really isn't a market for starting runningbacks in the NFL at this time so Thomas is going to have to realize any situation he steps into, it'll be as a backup.'

Marker 'The A-Train' visits Bills as Henry's potential replacement [6:25 PM]
AP reports: 'The Bills coaching staff didn't comment on Thomas' visit. But it's likely they offered him the same role as Henry would have: a third-down back who could also fill in whenever McGahee needed a rest.'

Marker A-Train Thomas Visits One Bills Drive [4:19 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"I'm willing to be a player here," said Thomas. "I'm not going to say I'm going to be a backup or say I'm going to be a starter. They say they are going to give me the opportunity to play and that's good enough for me."'

Marker Travis Henry; top free agents still available [3:08 PM]
Pro Football Weekly reports: Barring a key injury between now and the regular season, interest in trading for Henry likely will remain where it is today — nonexistent. The Bills never received an offer involving a first-day pick in the draft according to general manager Tom Donahoe, who decided not to part with Henry for less than market value. There isn’t a better backup running back in football and Donahoe knows Henry will be with the team when his paychecks start coming in September.

Marker Glover waiting for calls from NFL or CFL [3:08 PM]
Galveston County Daily News reports: '“I keep praying for that one phone call, but I’m not going to stay around waiting for it to happen,” Glover said. “The most frustrating thing about the process is knowing that you can play, but having to wait for someone to give you a chance. I know that I can play in the NFL. I just want the chance to show some-one.”'
