Marker Seantrel Henderson holds his own against Cameron Wake in Bills win over Dolphins [1:41 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"We had a lot planned to make sure that Cameron Wake, who we have all the respect in the world for, would not be able to take over that game," Marrone said after the Buffalo Bills' 29-10 win over the Dolphins. "We had chips and things like that to help Seantrel get off to a good start, yes. Did he play well, too? Yes, he did, but I don't want to make it look like we didn't have anything planned for him."'

Marker Buffalo Bills' Sammy Watkins fights through injury for first career touchdown and 100-yard game [1:40 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"It happened that a lot of calls and progressions had him getting the ball and coming open," quarterback EJ Manuel said. "He did a great job running the route and getting open. I'm very proud of him. That last touchdown, he got in there for us on the third down. We call that a double whammy when you get a first down and get a touchdown in the red zone."'

Marker Doug Marrone, Buffalo Bills players talk about C.J. Spiller's kickoff return for touchdown [1:39 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"It was a right return. I saw C.J. catch it close to the goal line, and I knew he was coming out. We went into the game planning on being aggressive, so I knew he was coming out. When he caught it I immediately took off. I had the back side, so I peeled back, caught just enough of the dude to spring him, and all he needs is a little bit, so he did the rest."'

Marker Russ Brandon on Bills win over Dolphins: 'It's a great, great time to be a Buffalonian' [1:38 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"That's Ralph's kind of football," Brandon said. "He would've loved it. He absolutely would have loved it."

Marker Buffalo Bills players credit home crowd in win over Dolphins, hope stadium continues to sell out [1:37 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Safety Aaron Williams: "I've played in (front of) a lot of crowds, a lot of big stadiums. This was top three of all time."'

Marker C.J. Spiller return sparks Bills, and 5 observation from Week 2 win [1:36 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'After targeting him only three times last week, Manuel threw Sammy Watkins' way more than any other receiver on Sunday. In the first half alone, Watkins had eight targets on 19 total passes from Manuel. The rookie appeared to be fighting through some pain all afternoon, but he gutted it out on his way to his first career 100-yard game. Watkins also got his first career touchdown on Sunday. He finished the game with eight catches for 117 yards and a touchdown.'

Marker Watkins comes up big in win [1:35 AM]
Canandaigua Daily Messenger reports: 'The defensive game plan was outstanding, and the Dolphins didn't even bother trying to score in the final two minutes of the first half. The score could've been even more lopsided if the offense hadn't struggled in the red zone. Overall, the Bills dominated the game and are now alone atop the AFC East at 2-0.'

Marker Pegula Era begins with class for the Buffalo Bills [1:34 AM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: 'There has been so much talk about a new downtown stadium for the Bills. However, with a team at 1-0, which felt like 10-0 to Bills fans, the ribbon cutting of a $130 million worth of work in a newly renovated stadium, the place felt brand-new.'

Marker Buffalo Bills Week 2 Report Card [1:33 AM]
Auburn Citizen reports: 'What a day for the special teams unit.'

Marker Bills win with complete team effort Sunday [1:32 AM]
Dunkirk Observer reports: 'Despite their successes, the Bills know they still have some work to do in the Red Zone, as they finished just 1 of 6 and had to settle for five Dan Carpenter field goals.'

Marker Bills improve to 2-0, this time with flash, not the smash [1:31 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: 'In both victories Manuel played smart, efficient, if not often dynamic football. But that’s all the Bills need him to be in this run-based offence, that relies heavily on their stubborn, talented defence to get them the ball back often, and in good field position.'

Marker Big plays deliver win for Bills' fired-up fans [1:30 AM]
Erie Times News reports: 'The Bills' self-proclaimed "Clemson Connection" sparked a big second half in a 29-10 win over the Miami Dolphins that produced their first 2-0 start since 2011 and capped one of the most encouraging stretches in recent franchise history.'

Marker Watkins pays early dividends on Bills' move to draft him [1:29 AM]
Erie Times News reports: 'What will endear him to fans here in blue-collar, shot-and-a-beer Buffalo is the toughness he showed Sunday, when he kept coming back from big hits and making big catches.'

Marker Future Is Assured in Buffalo, and the Present Is Also Looking Bright [1:27 AM]
New York Times reports: '“That’s how we’re going to have to win — by playing well in all three phases,” Buffalo Coach Doug Marrone said. “Special teams, really, for the last two weeks, have done a heck of a job.”'

Marker After Week 2, Buffalo Bills lead the list of most surprising 2-0 teams [1:26 AM]
SI reports: 'Still, credit the Bills for doing what needed to be done, especially on defense. Cornerback Corey Graham has been playing at a lights-out level this season, and he frequently jumped routes that Tannehill's receivers were trying to complete. Linebacker Preston Brown, the man in Buffalo's plan to replace the injured Kiko Alonso, led all Bills defenders with 13 tackles.'

Marker Spiller, Watkins spark Bills' 29-10 win over Miami [1:25 AM]
AP reports: 'Watkins finished with eight catches for 117 yards, and Spiller added 69 yards rushing.'

Marker Bills salute late owner before home opener [1:24 AM]
AP reports: 'Fans at a sold-out Ralph Wilson Stadium gave its late namesake a standing ovation Sunday as the Buffalo Bills saluted their founder before the home opener against the Miami Dolphins.'

Marker Dolphins C Pouncey, LB Misi out vs Bills [1:23 AM]
AP reports: 'The Bills will be without linebacker Keith Rivers, who suffered a groin injury last week in Chicago. Defensive backs Ross Cockrell and Jonathan Meeks, running back Bryce Brown, tight end Lee Smith, offensive linemen Cyril Richardson and Cyrus Kouandjo will be inactive as well.'

Marker Buffalo 29, Miami 10 [1:22 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'The Bills sacked Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill four times and picked him off once a week after he had two touchdown passes against the Patriots.'

Marker Bills' Clemson connection bites Dolphins [1:21 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'The Bills also received a big boost from their special teams, which produced a touchdown on C.J. Spiller's 102-yard kickoff return, five field goals by Dan Carpenter and a blocked punt that set up a score.'

Marker Bills-Dolphins: What we learned [1:20 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'They appear to have discovered a winning formula. They're not asking second-year quarterback EJ Manuel to do too much. Just manage the game, make a play here and there and not make costly mistakes. They're relying on their defense, their special teams and their run game. So far, so good.'

Marker Ride The Wave [1:19 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Coupled with a surprising week one road win in Chicago, the great news about the long term future of the team being secured put fans at an almost unprecedented level of joy. I say almost, because some would balk at putting this past week ahead of any of the four Super Bowl seasons. I don't really think the two compare. The best teams we ever saw produced a different feeling than the relief that brought on the emotional outpouring fans experienced this week.'

Marker Bills pay tribute to Ralph Wilson with a win he would have loved [1:18 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The Bills defense should get the lion's share of the credit, shutting down a Miami team that put up 33 points in a week one victory over the New England Patriots. The Dolphins were suffocated in the first half gaining a total of just 62 yards on 26 plays. Miami never got beyond its own 39 yard line over the game's first 30 minutes. They didn't cross into Bills territory until just over two minutes into the third quarter.'

Marker Observations: Bills 29 - Dolphins 10 [1:17 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Did Sunday look familiar to you on offense? That’s probably because it was the same game plan the Bills had for quarterback EJ Manuel and how to attack the Chicago Bears. Buffalo simplified the game enough for Manuel over the last two weeks to the point that the second-year quarterback always looked comfortable when he dropped back to pass. He didn’t have to win them the game, nor did they want him to.'

Marker Bills Manhandle Dolphins 29-10 [1:16 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Following the Miami score, Buffalo's offense did not miss a beat after the Miami touchdown as CJ Spiller finally broke loose on offense scampering for a 47 yard run. His dash set up a 12 yard EJ Manuel touchdown pass to Sammy Watkins who continued his coming out party with his first career score. After the Bills scoring drive, Buffalo's defense got their first stop of the second half. The offense would then move the ball fluently down the field but again, were stopped short in the red zone and had to settle for 4th Dan Carpenter field goal of the day.'

Marker Bills honor Wilson with ceremony, 2-0 start to season [1:15 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The Bills defense, armed by the return of the once suspended linebacker Nigel Bradham, frustrated Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the offensive attack throughout the afternoon. After just one half, the Dolphins were limited to zero points and just 62 yards on 26 plays.'

Marker Bills Answer Bell in Home Opener to Remember [1:14 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: '-Another week, another solid performance by the Buffalo defense. The unit was dominant in the first half holding the Dolphins to only 62 yards and six first downs. Miami found some room on the outside in the second half and benefitted by speeding up the tempo but the Bills were able to close the door and make the stops down the stretch. The Bills finished with four sacks and were able to pressure Tannehill throughout. So far, so good for Jim Schwartz and company. The Bills have surrendered 30 points total in their two wins.'

Marker Bills fans energized over winning streak [1:13 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: '“$350 on Stub Hub. Totally worth it,” said Chris Johnson from Burlington, Ontario. ”We paid $1,250 for four tickets. They won, it was worth it. We would have paid $2,000."'

Marker Bills ride emotion into first place [1:12 AM]
WROC-TV reports: 'he Bills clearly were sky-high, particularly Kyle Williams, the ninth-year defensive tackle, who’s the longest tenured player on the roster and one of the few current players who had a chance to get to know Wilson, before he became ill. “There’s no question, we were riding that emotion,’’ Williams said. “There’s no question that Mr. Wilson’s presence was in this stadium today, just as it was every game since he brought this team to Buffalo.”'
