Marker Bills Team Report [6:52 PM]
The Sporting News reports: 'The team is hoping Mike Gandy can solidify the left tackle spot. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Gandy has decent size, and the team thinks he is big and strong enough to handle physical defensive linemen at the point of attack. He's a smart guy as well with the athletic ability to play in space. If Gandy plays well, the team will probably leave Trey Teague at center to maintain continuity on the rest of the offensive line.'

Marker Bills Honor Thomas [6:26 PM]
RNews.com reports: 'Thomas joins Jim Kelly, Kent Hull, Darryl Talley & Jim Ritcher from the super bowl era that are enshrined on the Bills Wall of Fame.'

AP reports: 'Reed and his wife, Cyndi, have two children, Auburn, 10, and Andre, 8. ''I wanted them to see how important education is,'' Reed said. ''This was 80 percent for them and 20 percent for me.'''

Marker Thomas Climbs On To The Wall [2:16 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Thomas had eight straight years of running for over one thousand yards. The only other backs in NFL history to accomplish that are Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith.'

Marker Ex-Razorbacks QB Ferguson being treated for colon cancer [2:11 PM]
Arkansas Democrat Gazette reports: 'Arkansas Athletic Director Frank Broyles said Ferguson was diagnosed with colon cancer about a month ago and is undergoing chemotherapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center. "Joe is at one of the best cancer hospitals in America," said Broyles, who coached Ferguson when he played for the Razorbacks from 1970-1972. "He’s receiving excellent treatment and is in good spirits." Broyles said he spoke with Ferguson a few days ago. "He feels good that the treatment is working," Broyles said. "But tell everyone to include Joe in their thoughts and prayers."'

Marker Reed's greatest catch [9:24 AM]
Allentown Morning Call reports: '''People come to me now and say 'you played in four Super Bowls and you didn't win' and that's true, but I ask them what they were doing on those Super Bowl Sundays. … They were watching me,'' said Reed, one of 1,036 Kutztown graduates on Saturday. ''All of my success as an NFL player was made possible through my pursuit of a college degree.'''

Marker Reed makes another great catch at Kutztown [9:22 AM]
Reading Eagle reports: 'Indeed, Reed's induction into the Kutztown University Class of 2005 might only be surpassed by his induction into the Canton Class of 2006. “I'm definitely hopeful,” Reed said. “I don't even know what would happen. When that day comes, it would just be. . . . I don't know. I'd have to change my whole thinking.”'

Marker One more big play for ex-NFL receiver [9:21 AM]
Reading Eagle reports: '“With everything that's happened over the past 18 years, I got distracted and didn't have the time,” Reed said. “I probably should've done it sooner. But it's better to be late than never.”'

Marker Thurman won this 4-yard battle [9:03 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'A year from now, five seasons after his retirement, Thomas will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It says here he deserves to gain entrance on the first ballot, an honor bestowed on his college backup, Sanders.'

Marker Thomas to take his place on Wall [8:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I usually get about 20 letters a week sent to my house," the legendary Bills' running back said from his home in Orlando, Fla. "I don't know how they get to my house. But I'm not kidding. I get fan mail all the time. I go onto the (Bills) Web site and see people talking about me. . . . I've had so much support ever since I retired from the Buffalo Bills."'

Marker Ralph did more than sign the checks to build the Bills [8:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"Marv gets a lot of credit and deservedly so, and the players get a lot of credit, and I get credit," said Polian, the general manager of the Indianapolis Colts. "But make no mistake, Ralph Wilson is the guy who drove the train."'

Marker Inside slant [7:58 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Losman, who felt awkward being handed the Bills' starting job instead of winning it through a training camp competition with Bledsoe, said his top priority this off-season is winning his teammates' respect. He's off to a very good start.'

Marker Thurman joins Jim and Marv [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"Obviously it's a special time for me," Thomas said earlier this week from his home in Orlando, Fla. "It's one last hurrah with the Buffalo Bills fans where I can walk on the field and give my speech. It will be exciting."'

Marker Wall for now, Hall later for Thomas [5:00 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“They gave me a couple of choices,” Thomas said from his home in Atlanta, where he has a printing business and still operates his foundation. “One was Atlanta (Sept. 25) and the other was Miami (Oct. 9). “Right now I’m leaning toward Miami.”'

Marker Mularkey connects with UF, ERAU [4:59 AM]
Daytona Beach News Journal reports: 'Mularkey's weekend of golf won't be all play. His briefcase is never far from his side. He's in the process of scripting every single practice and meeting. He's up to Aug. 28. The Bills open Sept. 11 against Houston. Mularkey is scripting a win.'

Marker Ezekiel passed in draft, signs with Bills [12:25 PM]
Northeastern University News reports: 'For an undrafted free agent like Ezekiel, the Bills may have been one of the better teams to be signed by. The Bills opened the 2004 season with an NFL-high four undrafted rookie free agents. Hager said the Bills are a team that has showed "a lack of concern" to try out and sign non-Division I-A players.'

Marker This Round's on Me [12:24 PM]
Northeastern University News reports: 'Another factor is Ezekiel's maturity, or lack-there-of. The 22-year-old turned an on-field scuffle with a teammate into a career marring controversy when he knocked out Husky kicker Miro Kesic in the locker room in the waning weeks of the 2004 season. Instead of sticking up for himself when asked for his side of the story he refused to call me back (surprise, surprise), even though I stated in the eight messages I left him that I thought someone that has been such a great athlete for NU deserves to have their side of the story told (again, oops). Rather than man-up and call me himself, he got someone else to call me from an anonymous number and simply say, "You've got the whole Ezekiel story wrong."'

Marker Draft picks leave Reed twisting in wind [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I think I've got to have the best year of my career," Reed said. "Whether it's special teams, blocking or catching passes, I've got to be prepared to do whatever I have to do to help this team."'
