Marker Bills' sudden swoon leaves everyone unhappy [9:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"It's important that you understand that you always play with a sense of urgency. But you don't panic," Williams said Monday. "In the National Football League, you coach as hard as you can every week and you play as hard as you can every week. That doesn't change. That's what we'll continue to do. We spend the hours and the hard work and prepare each week as hard as we can. We've got to play better and we've got to coach better."'

Marker Williams needs to become a leader [9:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'There were people who felt it was mean-spirited of me to question Henry's intelligence a few weeks back. But it's one thing for a columnist to do it. It's quite another for the head coach to cheap shot his own player for making a boneheaded mistake. You can lose your team that way.'

Marker Williams hopeful about return of Moulds [9:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We would hope that he would be able to get back out there sometime this week," Williams said of Moulds. "We'll see."'

Marker Bills GM wants the ball moving [5:15 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“Everybody has got to look at themselves when we’re not playing well and find out what he can do individually to play better,” Donahoe said.'

Marker In Buffalo, it's wake up or shake up [5:14 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'As this half-season winds down, it’s apparent that Williams has done a better job of extinguishing himself than distinguishing himself.'

Marker Did everyone overrate the Bills? [5:13 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Gilbride knows his stuff, but he lost a lot of credibility with Sunday’s showing.'

Marker Buffalo Bills replay [5:12 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The Bills are now 4-13 in games against AFC East teams under Gregg Williams, and the losses have been by an average of more than 14 points.'

Marker Xerox extends pact with Bills [5:11 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Under the contract, Xerox will overhaul most of the printers, scanners, fax machines and other document equipment the Bills use. Xerox systems will now produce brochures, playbooks and half-time reports for the Bills, plus some more personalized materials for season ticket holders.'

Marker That's more like it [5:10 AM]
New York Post reports: 'Defensive line - A. DE Shaun Ellis got his sixth and seventh sacks of the season. NT Jason Ferguson had two sacks, two batted passes and a forced fumble. DT James Reed had seven tackles and a sack, as did rookie Dewayne Robertson.'

Marker Upon further review [5:09 AM]
New York Newsday reports: 'Drew Bledsoe was sacked seven times in an outstanding game by the defensive line, but that's not all. The Jets also confused Bledsoe by playing combination coverages. They showed their traditional cover-2 look (zone with two deep safeties) but added a wrinkle at times - man coverage underneath. The extra time Bledsoe needed to recognize the coverage resulted in several of the sacks.'

Marker Inside slant [5:08 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'The question that is now arising is, were the Bills over-rated to begin with? It appears that could be the case. With all the new additions on defense, maybe it wasn't reasonable to assume they would jell quickly and become a dominant unit. There have been far too many breakdowns in the last four weeks and newcomers Takeo Spikes, Sam Adams and Lawyer Milloy have tailed off precipitously since opening day when all three played major roles in the 31-0 shellacking of New England.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [5:07 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: Coaching - D...True, they aren't the ones making the plays, but they're the ones putting the players in bad situations.'

Marker Notes, quotes, anecdotes [5:06 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'LB Takeo Spikes seems to have cooled off after an eye-opening start for his new team. Spikes has been in on tackles, but he hasn't been involved in creating a turnover since the Week 3 loss in Miami.'

Marker Can anybody defend Gregg? [5:05 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'I’m not jumping to the defense of Williams here, but I also think Donahoe and Wilson need to be absolutely certain they have no alternative before pulling the plug on the Gregg Williams tenure.'

Marker Considering Changes At The Top? [5:04 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'Let's not single out Gregg Williams among the coaches. Kevin Gilbride seems lost. The offense has been pitiful. They have no identity and no ability to put points on the board. Fullback Sam Gash said they're a "finesse" offense. If that's the case, why is a blocking fullback like Gash even here? Why didn't they keep Larry Centers. If it's a finesse team, why did they dump Jay Riemersma, and add a blocking tight end like Mark Campbell? Perhaps G-M Tom Donahoe needed to change more than his personel in the off-season. If he wanted a smash mouth running game he should have changed his offensive coordinator. The Head Coach certainly isn't mandating a smash mouth running game, and if he is, Gilbride isn't listening.'

Marker The Day After: Gregg Williams Comments [5:03 AM] reports: "It's never good when you get beat 30-3. There are some good things that go in losses and there's some bad things that go in wins. In all three phases we've got to make corrections and we've got to move on."

Marker Bills reeling after dropping three of four [10:39 PM]

AP reports: '``We would hope that he would be able to get back out there sometime next week,'' he said.'

Marker Jets flatten Buffalo Bills for 1st win [1:24 PM]
Staten Island Advance reports: 'Meanwhile, Henry managed to rush for only 53 yards on 18 carries and Bledsoe was under constant attack by New York's pass rush. The last time the Jets had seven sacks in a game was a 34-17 win over New England in 2000.'

Marker Jets give team effort and keep things interesting [1:23 PM]
Asbury Park Press/Home News Tribune reports: 'So here we are again, back at 1-4 with fans wondering what took so long to get in gear and the players rallying around Edwards to do enough to keep the faithful from reaching for the remote.'

Marker 2001 first-rounder returns to favor [1:22 PM]
Asbury Park Press/Home News Tribune reports: 'The Jets did not draft him No. 16 overall two years ago to be a nice complementary player. They picked him to change the game with one play, which the Bills found out he can still do just fine.'

Marker Bills Fans Left Wondering After 30-3 Loss [1:21 PM] reports: '"A lot of meaningful things were said by our teammates," said Ruben Brown. Marker Pass Defense Leads the Way [1:20 PM] reports: 'Shaun Ellis and Jason Ferguson (2 sacks each) led a 7-sack charge by the defense. Sam Cowart also had a sack, while James Reed and Dewayne Robertson each recorded their first of the season. For Robertson, the Jets #1 draft pick, it was the first of his career.'

Marker Jets Master Running Game on Both Sides of the Ball [1:19 PM] reports: 'Not only were the Jets able to run the ball, they were able to limit the Bills’ rushing attack as well.'

Marker Jets get airborne this time [1:18 PM]
Bergen Record reports: 'Speaking of direction, the Bills don't like the way they're headed. After a 2-0 start that had some suggesting they were championship timber, they have lost three of four and become the closest team the Jets can start to think of overhauling in the AFC East standings.'

Marker Jets' defense is key [1:17 PM]
Bergen Record reports: 'Glenn had four tackles, including three solos, and a pass breakup. Hobson, who suffered a rib injury, had two solo tackles, including one for a loss.'

Marker Jets odds and ends [1:16 PM]
Bergen Record reports: 'Conway dealt with his situation smartly on Sunday. He had only two catches from Vinny Testaverde, but they produced 41 yards and each converted a third-and-short on a touchdown march. Conway also drew a 15-yard pass interference call on Nate Clements on a second-quarter field goal drive.'

Marker Quarter by quarter [1:15 PM]
Bergen Record reports: 'The key: Bills' center Trey Teague sends a shotgun snap over Drew Bledsoe's head and Bryan Thomas recovers at the Buffalo 17, setting up the 27-yard field goal by Brien.'

Marker Game balls [1:14 PM]
Bergen Record reports: 'The four-year veteran recorded two sacks to lead a defense that had seven on the day. The Jets accomplished this despite being without their best pass rusher, John Abraham (deactivated).'
