Marker Bills Introduce Linebacker Jeff Posey [1:08 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"I got a chance to visit with coach (Gregg Williams) and I believe I'm going to have a lot to do with rushing the passer and also being a strong outside linebacker. I believe I can come in and help this team because I know with the offensive move they had last year (they have the offensive tools). I'm just looking forward to coming here and becoming an asset to this team and help lead this team to a Super Bowl."'

Marker It's time to keep the Bills in WNY [9:04 AM]
Business First of Buffalo reports: 'How jittery should we be? Nervous enough to renegotiate the lease and toss in a provision that keeps the team here. Buffalo already has one vacant old arena. It's on the verge of having an empty new one.'

Marker Larry Felser: Repair of Bills' Defense Starts to Take Shape [6:26 PM]
ESN reports: There were so many impressive defensive linemen at the annual Indianapolis Meat Market that the Bills are just about convinced that they should trust the supply of rookie prime beef to upgrade their defensive line, dealing with their need of a A-1 linebacker through free agency.

Marker Jim Kelly to co-own Busch team with Cicci [10:29 AM]
NASCAR.com reports: Kelly, the former NFL quarterback with the Buffalo Bills, is the minority owner of Frank Cicci Racing with Jim Kelly, which will field cars for at least 10 races in 2003.

"I hope everybody has the same attitude going in that I've always had when I played football," Kelly said. "You just keep going, keep pushing. As long as you're focused and never say die, that's all I'm looking for.

"I want excitement. I'm not the type that just sits back. That's the way my life was with the no-huddle offense. I've always been fast-paced, and I want everybody to have the same enthusiasm I have."

Marker Bills hope Posey continues to blossom at linebacker [9:39 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"He had a breakout year last year," Bills coach Gregg Williams said. "He's done a very good job of playing the run very stout. He was targeted by us because he has some very good pass-rush ability. That will help our overall defense in getting off the field on third down and limiting the big strikes down the field in the passing game. You have to upgrade the pass rush as much as possible."'

Marker Donahoe's quickness out of the gate lands Bills a Posey [9:38 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Anyway, this could turn out to be a steal for the Bills. Donahoe and Tom Modrak, the assistant GM, have a reputation for identifying linebackers on the rise. Posey had eight sacks last season in a breakthrough year for the expansion Texans. The Bills' top four linebackers (London Fletcher, Keith Newman, Eddie Robinson and DaShon Polk) had six sacks combined last season. Plus, Posey will count only $1.01 million against this season's salary cap.'

Marker Bills still could get good defensive linemen from this year's draft [9:37 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The premature color of his hair gives him the look of a gray fox, and on the job he is just as wily. Tom Donahoe has moved like Reynard to get the re-making of the Bills' defense off to a sprinting start.'

Marker Price takes tour with Falcons [7:15 AM]
Atlanta Journal Constitution reports: 'Executive vice president Ray Anderson said the Falcons would prefer to agree upon trade terms with the Bills before advancing into contract talks with Price. The Falcons and Bills have had only one preliminary conversation about a trade.'

Marker Posey signs four-year deal with Buffalo [1:38 PM]

Marker Buffalo Bills Free Agency Tracker [12:39 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: "We will probably be when it's all said and done, around the average in the league of dead money," said Donahoe. "We're not out of the woods totally. We have to be careful what we do with our players, with potential free agents, with the cap. We're not in a total situation where we can go out and lead the pack in terms of being mega spenders."

Marker Bills Free Agency Center [12:39 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: On Saturday, the Bills introduced strong side linebacker Jeff Posey in a press conference at the team's training facility. Listen to the archived audio.

Marker Browns trade Campbell to Bills for 2004 draft pick [12:29 PM]
Warren Tribune Chronicle reports: 'Campbell (6-foot-6, 260 pounds) never fit the complete mold coach Butch Davis seeks in a tight end. He doesn't have the speed necessary to stretch coverage, and he's not a strong blocker.'

Marker Bills take Campbell in trade with Browns [12:29 PM]
Canton Repository reports: 'Campbell had 16 starts in 2002, but it became clear by November that Davis was grooming Steve Heiden for a larger role. Heiden was re-signed to a two-year extension recently.'

Marker Bills find linebacker, tight end on first day [9:09 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'In 27-year-old Campbell, the Bills got a player with excellent hands and limited speed. He's a possession receiver, not as much of a downfield threat as Jay Riemersma, who the Bills cut on Thursday. Of course, the Bills did not ask their tight ends to go downfield much last season.'

Marker Eager Bills sprint into market [7:29 AM]
D and C reports: 'Posey’s deal averages $1.6 million a year over four seasons and came with a $1.75 million bonus. Posey, who was scheduled to sign his deal late Friday, will be introduced to the media today at an 11 a.m. news conference at the stadium.'

Marker Browns ship Campbell to Bills for draft pick [7:28 AM]
Cleveland Plain Dealer reports: 'Campbell, heading into his fourth season, was dealt to the Bills for a seventh-round pick in the 2004 draft if he makes the 2003 roster, according to a source. It could improve to a sixth-round pick depending on playing time.'

Marker LB Posey shuffles off to Buffalo [6:14 AM]
Houston Chronicle reports: 'In what could become an interesting game of tit-for-tat, free-agent linebacker Keith Newman will visit the Texans on Monday. Newman has spent his four-year career withBuffalo, enjoying his best season in 2000 when he had eight sacks for former coach Wade Phillips, who used the 3-4 defense. Playing in the 4-3 defense for new coach Gregg Williams, Newman had only 6 1/2 sacks over the past two seasons.'

Marker Falcons meet with Bills WR Price [6:06 AM]
Atlanta Journal Constitution reports: 'Tim McGee, Price's agent, said there were no serious contract negotiations Friday. ''Talking compensation is not our main focus,'' McGee said. ''It's to evaluate the Falcons' organization. That includes viewing facilities, talking to the staff and everything that encompasses viewing the landscape, so to speak. We haven't talked specifics. That's not saying we won't, or it isn't scheduled.'''

Marker Next! Campbell latest Davis move [6:04 AM]

Marker Bills think Posey about to blossom [8:29 PM]
Shout! reports: Posey recorded eight sacks as weakside linebacker in the Houston Texans' 3-4 scheme last season. Many of his sacks came when he was a down lineman. He showed good speed around the corner and an ability to gain enough leverage against a tackle to dictate where he was going to go. He's not just a pure speed-rusher. He has some physicalness to him.

Marker Mark Campbell Career BIO/STATS [4:23 PM]
