Marker McGahee Chat Highlights From ESPN.com [6:29 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '[Q]: What football player influenced you the most when you were growing up?
Willis McGahee: Deion Sanders. Just his arrogance and showboating. One day I will be like that guy.'

Marker Packers to play 3 Monday night games, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day [6:10 AM]
Green Bay Press Gazette reports: 'Saturday, Aug. 20: at Buffalo Bills, 7 p.m.'

Marker Bills open at home, host Denver in prime time [5:02 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'As for balance, Buffalo should have no complaints. Its bye weekend comes exactly in the middle of the year, Nov. 6, and there are four home and four road games in each half of the season. A year ago, the Bills' bye came in September, meaning they played the final 14 weeks without a break. There is also only one second-half West Coast trip this year, to San Diego on Nov. 20.'

Marker Texans a good opponent for QB Losman [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'It isn't a killer schedule, particularly the first seven games. If the Bills are going to compete for a wild-card playoff berth, a 5-2 start probably is a must. A 10-6 final record might be good enough to sneak in. It's asking a lot for Losman to pull it off in his first season as astarter.'

Marker Bills get a break [5:00 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: 'After struggling out of the gate in 2004 the Bills get, what on paper anyway, appears to be a soft start. Of their first five opponents, only the Falcons had a winning record in 2004.'

Marker Texans hit road for start of 2005 season, play primetime twice [9:52 PM]
AP reports: 'Houston will open the season on the road Sept. 11 against Buffalo, a team that won six straight and nine of 11 before losing to Pittsburgh in the 2004 season finale. Normally a grueling road test, the Texans should benefit from facing new Bills' quarterback J.P. Losman in what should be his first career start and playing in Buffalo during a much milder time of year. "I'd probably rather open up the season at Buffalo and not close it out there," Capers said.'

Marker Henry trade on hold until draft [9:33 PM]
Arizona Republic reports: 'Buffalo also would like to swap places in the second round, taking the Cardinals’ pick, the 44th overall, with the Cardinals sliding to the 55th selection. The Cardinals, however, are balking at that – at least for now. With the eighth overall pick, the Cardinals should have a chance to take one of the top three running backs in the draft: Cedric Benson of Texas and Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams of Auburn. If they take one of them, the trade will be off.'

Marker Bills delighted with 2005 first-round draft choice they got a year early [11:50 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“I’ve never been in a position where you wait until 55 (to make an initial draft pick), but it couldn’t have come at a better time for the player we got.”'

Marker Buffalo Bills 2005 Draft Preview [11:48 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Donahoe has indicated that he'll be seeking depth on both lines first and foremost, and the club would also do well to add some bodies at tight end, cornerback, and fullback.'

Marker Bills need to make move with Henry [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'But he'd better do something with Henry before training camp, and preferably sooner. The notion that Henry could still be a Bill next season is ludicrous. It would be bad for everyone involved, a needless distraction for a team trying to break in a new quarterback.'

Marker Henry is an ace in Bills' deck for draft [5:02 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Noted for his draft day blockbusters, Donahoe has a big ace card this year with which to work a trade and move up the draft order: disgruntled former starting running back Travis Henry. A depressed market for ball carriers and Donahoe's insistence on getting what he decides is "fair market value" for Henry have prevented a deal from taking place so far. But things tend to happen fast on draft weekend.'

Marker Bills aren't pushing for new stadium [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"We had no idea," Donahoe said of the resolution presented by councilman Antoine Thompson that was approved by the council. "We had nothing to do with it. It's a nice idea but it's not something we're pushing."'

BuffaloBills.com reports: 'The NFL plans to announce the schedule at 2 p.m. ET on the NFL Network's signature show, NFL Total Access. Meanwhile, the schedule will be posted at Buffalobills.com in unison with its release on NFL Network.'

Marker Top Bills Selection Acquired a Year Early [5:00 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'So will the Bills sit and wait for the 55th pick this year? "It's great to speculate," said Donahoe. "Where is this guy going to go and who is this team going to take? Will there be trades? How will it affect the round if there are significant trades made? People get into it. A lot of our fans and the media have great ideas about it and we think we do too."'

Marker Losman working hard this offseason as he assumes starter's role [1:14 PM]
Pro Football Weekly reports: '“I’m sure there will be some Sundays that we watch the process of trial and error, and the learning curve causes us to pull our hair a little bit,” Wyche said. “Then there will be other Sundays when he’s going to make something happen out of the blue because he’s a natural at the position — a natural quarterback, a natural runner, and he can make things happen. I don’t know what it will mean in terms of wins and losses. I don’t know if anyone can predict that. … He should step right in. I think he’ll be OK.”'

Marker Bears finalize 2005 preseason schedule [12:28 PM]
ChicagoBears.com reports: 'Chicago will then play at St. Louis on Fri., Aug. 12 and at Indianapolis on Sat., Aug. 20 at Indianapolis before hosting Buffalo on Fri., Aug. 26 and Cleveland on Thurs., Sept. 1. All five games begin at 7 p.m. central time.'

Marker QB likes change of scenery [10:32 AM]
Portland Tribune reports: 'The lightning rod for criticism from Buffalo fans through the first six weeks was Bledsoe. “Everyone was ready to send me home,” he says. “The fans, the media — they wanted to put me to pasture. If I came out of the season with anything positive personally, it was that I was able to persevere through all that and come out the other side.”'

Marker Donahoe doesn't regret trading No. 1 pick [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I think he could be the first player taken (this year)," Donahoe said of Losman at a pre-draft media briefing Monday in Orchard Park. "That's just my opinion. I think he's definitely the first quarterback taken, and generally quarterbacks go first."'

Marker Can Buffalo Afford a New Bills Stadium Downtown? [5:01 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'I certainly don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade. Nearly a dozen new stadiums have been built in the last half-dozen years, with more coming, and Buffalo simply can’t afford one. Still, you have to give Councilman Thompson credit. There’s nothing wrong with thinking big.'

Marker Bills Talk Draft [9:49 PM]
RNews.com reports: '“We feel we do have a first round pick, and our first round pick is on our team and we feel good about that,” Donahoe said Monday. “Now, if the situation presents itself and it's the right player and we can make the move to get back in there, that would be great. But if it doesn't, then we'll all develop a little patience this year.”'

Marker Bills Speak About The Draft [9:47 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Donahoe says that there have been offers to move back into the first round from other teams, but none of those offers were substantial.'

Marker Losman Disappointed in Opening Pitch [12:25 PM]

Marker QB Thompson Off and Running in Europe [11:40 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Once again the Bills Backers Germany met with Bills allocated quarterback Kevin Thompson, this time after his second win in as many games. Kevin scored two rushing touchdowns, had three scrambles for first downs, and was not picked off in a 23-10 victory over the Rhein Fire. Here's what Kevin said after the game.'
