Marker Tops ending promotion with Buffalo Bills [5:30 PM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Tops said it was pleased with the results of its Bills sponsorship, adding that the three-year deal "delivered everything expected and more." Marker Inside the Herd: TE Mark Campbell [5:28 PM] reports: 'Everything's going great and I appreciate your concern. I think that this season we'll start off how we ended last season. We won eight of our last 10 and I think we started scoring more points as an offense and we started being a lot more productive. I think you're going to see us start faster this year, even with a new quarterback in J.P. Losman. He's going to bring some other things to the table that will equal points. I think my role in that is I want to be there for J.P. as much as possible. A lot of times the tight ends run shorter routes and I want to be there for J.P. so he can make some easy throws and build some confidence, and I'm sure he's going to get the ball to the other playmakers as well. But a big emphasis we've made is spreading the ball around and being a more well-balanced team.'

Marker Bills sign draft pick Preston; waive Rheem [5:27 PM]
AP reports: 'He is the second of six draft picks to sign with the team. Running back Lionel Gates, selected in the seventh round, signed with the team a month ago.'

Marker Bills Sign Preston [5:25 PM]

Marker Drew and J.P. rank 25, 27 on this QB list [5:08 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '27. J.P. Losman (Buffalo). If all goes well, I'll be rating him much higher in preseason 2006. The lack of tears shed in western New York over Bledsoe's departure suggests that a majority of fans would prefer to see a young QB learn on the job than a veteran QB who already had taken the team as far as he could.'

Marker Ralph C. Wilson Jr. [9:14 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Wilson's passion for the game remains unflagging at age 86. Marker Holcomb finds solid ground in upstate New York [8:33 AM]
Murfreesboro Daily News Journal reports: 'Holcomb hasn't gone far enough, which is why he picked the Bills over a variety of free-agency suitors. All of Buffalo's working parts seem to be in place for a playoff run. "It's important for me in my career to win a championship." he says. "That's why I am at the place I am right now."'

Marker Inside slant [6:15 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'When Vincent was set to return, coordinator Jerry Gray was ready to insert Vincent back at left cornerback, but with second-year pro Terrence McGee playing well and the Bills making a strong playoff push, Vincent felt it was in the club's best interest not to rock the boat. His long-range career plan was to shift to free safety eventually, only now the timetable was pushed up.'

Marker Notes, quotes [6:14 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Veteran backup QB Kelly Holcomb showed during spring drills why the Bills went hard after signing him. In one word: poise. "In the huddle, the scheme, with everything new to him, he doesn't flinch," coach Mike Mularkey said. "The speed of the rush is pretty heavy and he's standing in there and making some throws."'

"It's that tight," said Troy Vincent, the Buffalo Bills veteran defensive back who is president of the players union. "We know our system works."'

Marker Bills players say you can't beat system [5:02 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I just got tested," Villarrial said. "Shirt off, pants down the knees, and he's standing over the stall watching you pee into a cup. That would be hard for that device to work."'

Marker Reasonable record for 2005 Bills: 8-8 [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: ' won't be shocked if the Bills finish slightly above .500 in J.P. Losman's first season as starting QB, but 8-8 is a more reasonable projection.'

Marker Bills find no takers for Henry [5:00 AM]
Florida Times Union reports: '"We're not going to budge. We feel we've already lessened the asking price. We don't think we could go below that. We think we're giving away for a three,'' Donahoe said. "We think that a three is pretty fair for a starting caliber running back, somebody who's been to the Pro Bowl. It's been perplexing to us why we haven't been able to get it done.'''

Marker Burns football camp a success [4:59 AM]
Thomasville Times Enterprise reports: 'Joe Burns continues to win on the football field — only this time he won the hearts of area children.'

Marker Jaguars are top suitor for Buffalo RB Henry [5:46 AM]
Nashville Tennessean reports: '"In a month it certainly could impact things," Titans General Manager Floyd Reese said. "It sounds like (Taylor) just started (testing his knee) and they are going to wait and see where he ends up. "I think in Buffalo's situation, they can certainly wait and see what happens there, too. They have a fall back, which would be us, and now it is a matter of getting something else."'

Marker All systems go for Greer in Buffalo [5:02 AM]
Jackson Sun reports: 'To make the playoffs this season, Greer said the Bills will have to ''improve upon the minor parts of the game, like third downs and getting takeaways.'' Second-year quarterback J.P. Losman - groomed to be the starter after the Bills released Drew Bledsoe earlier this year - is ''a young Steve Young because of his mobility,'' Greer said.'

Marker Burris Heads Down New Career Path [3:28 PM] reports: '"We were in the airport and we were heading home," Burris said.
