Marker Rams will force Bills' 'D' to grow up [8:53 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We're going to go out there and do some things to help those guys out," Gray said of Baker and McGee. "But you're also going to have to take them off the diaper because when you're playing defensive back in this league, hey, you've got to have a short memory and you've got to learn from your mistakes. The faster you can learn from them and keep working and get better, you'll be a really good player."'

Marker Kelsay gives it the old college try [5:08 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'No longer will the 2003 second-round draft choice be rotating starts with 2002 second-round draft choice Ryan Denney. "It was a situation where the coaches saw where I might have been a little more productive in certain areas and thought that I deserved the role and that's what I strive for," Kelsay said. "I didn't want to have anything handed to me. I wanted to earn it, and I think I did that."'

Marker Buffalo's defense deserves high billing [5:06 AM]
St. Louis Post Dispatch reports: '"They're like a chameleon," Martz said. "They can be blitzing the heck out of you and then all of a sudden stop. But their defensive front is formidable. ... Their front seven can play with anybody. You're not going to find one that's a whole lot better than this one."'

I'm not a cheerleader, I'm not a guy who's supposed to be holding your hat while you're out there playing. That's a part of the game, but that's not me."'

Marker Bills Begin Focus On Rams, Promote Baker [11:06 AM] reports: 'Baker, an undrafted free agent from Tennessee, posted five tackles at New England and said he became more comfortable and confident with every series. Marker Bills QBs turn their focus on Rams [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"If you're going to play in the NFL, particularly the position of quarterback, you've got to be strong," Bledsoe said. "You've got to be strong enough emotionally and physically and mentally to fight those battles when it's not going right. When everything's going right, it's fun and sometimes it seems kind of easy. But when it's not going right, that's when the test of your character individually and as a team comes into play."'

Marker Rams coach eyed Losman in draft [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We really liked him," Martz said in a conference call with Buffalo media. "He's very accurate. High energy, tough, intelligent."'

Marker Bledsoe era awaits final sack [7:41 AM]

Marker A quarterback quagmire [5:02 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I've always felt with the quarterback position you stay with him as long as you possibly can. You just do," said St. Louis Rams coach Mike Martz, who is no stranger to QB musical chairs and whose team visits Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday. "I've had a situation here in the past where you feel like you have to make a change, and at that point it has to become obvious to you. Marker Inside slant [5:00 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Choosing the final four minutes of a nationally televised road game, against the defending Super Bowl champions that were whipped into a feeding frenzy, for your prized rookie passer to get his feet wet wasn't the wisest thing coach Mike Mularkey could've done.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [4:59 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Rookie free agent Rashad Baker will get the call to start at free safety against the Rams' No. 4 passing game featuring Isaac Bruce and Tory Holt on Sunday, replacing veteran Izell Reese. Production from the free safety spot has been a problem for the Bills for years.'

Marker Notes, quotes [4:58 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Buffalo (3-6) is one of 11 teams still alive for two wild-card spots in the AFC, but six clubs (Jacksonville, Baltimore, San Diego, New York Jets, Cincinnati and Houston) have better records.'

Marker Buffalo Bills Head Coach Mike Mularkey [4:57 AM] reports: '(On how the team has handled this season): “I think they have handled it pretty well for starting off 0-4 when I don’t think any of us thought we would. To overcome that and win three out of our next four showed that they can overcome adversity. I think they all knew that something good is going to come out of what has taken place. A lot of those losses were last minute close losses, we were really in the game. The only really true game that I felt that we were out-played and out matched was this past game against New England, where we didn’t play very good. They know how close they are, it’s just a matter of winning the close game and winning on the road. That’s something that we have to learn how to do.”'

Marker Buffalo at a Glance [4:56 AM] reports: 'Standing at 3-6 this season, with a new coach in charge, Buffalo doesn’t appear to be headed back to the playoffs anytime soon. But with the NFL as competitive as ever, the Bills could be only an impact player or two away from contending again. The Bills have discovered one of those players already and they are fairly certain the other is on the roster.'

Marker Bledsoe wants to put worst game behind him [9:06 PM]
