Marker Experts give Bills’ draft class so-so reviews [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Kiper’s grade was the lowest he gave out to any team. His doubts about quarterback EJ Manuel – Buffalo’s first-round pick – was the main reason why.'

Marker Fond memories of Larry Felser [1:58 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'He wrote with uncommon insight for the common man. With the finesse of a running back, the perspective of a lineman or the wallop of a linebacker. “Why use a fly swatter if you’ve been given a hammer?” he would say.'

Marker Mel Kiper deserves an F [1:57 AM]
Tonawanda News reports: 'Well, he wasn't going to give the Bills an "A" or "B," basically stating that he's a moron and has no idea what he's doing, right? If Manuel ends up being the top QB in this draft, Kiper takes a pretty big hit in terms of credibility, so of course he's telling us that Manuel is a project, with "slow eyes," that was a mistake pick at No. 16.'

Marker 12 things I think about the Bills [1:56 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'A lot was made about the Bills drafting and signing more "edgy" players this year. Intentional or not, there were clearly a few more players with legal incidences brought in this April than we've seen in recent years. My sense is the organization feels much better about the ability of Doug Marrone to handle these players and surround them with the right type of environment than they did with Chan Gailey.'

Marker A respectable Tuel-box for Bills undrafted QB [1:55 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“He won the starting job initially and then he tweaked a knee early in the season,” said Bills scout Brad Forsyth. “They had a young guy come in and he played pretty well so Tuel kind of lost his spot. He played in spots the rest of the year, but I think he’s a kid that really does have a legitimate shot. He needs some time, development and experience, but he has all the physical tools you’re looking for and he’s a smart kid as well.”'

Marker Bills swap LBs with Colts for versatility [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“We think this defense and the way they’re going to play him will fit what he does best,” Nix said. “He was a defensive end at TCU. Played with his hand on the ground. Did that at first with the Colts and then when they went to the 3-4, he played a little bit of both. But he played behind Robert and Dwight Freeney, so playing time wasn’t a lot. We think this will give him an opportunity to do what he does best.”'

Marker Colts deal disappointing first-round pick Jerry Hughes to Buffalo for LB Kelvin Sheppard [1:58 AM]
Indianapolis Star reports: 'Hughes had the makings of a talented speed rusher, amassing 30 sacks and eight forced fumbles in his final two college seasons at Texas Christian. But he didn’t register an NFL sack until his second season, finishing with just six tackles in 12 games as a rookie and 15 in 12 games in 2011.'

Marker Bills trade LB Sheppard to Colts for LB Hughes [1:57 AM]
AP reports: 'Sheppard, a 2011 second-round pick from LSU, has been inconsistent in two seasons in Buffalo. He had 138 tackles and two sacks in 31 games, including 24 starts.'

Marker Colts, Bills swap linebackers [1:56 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Sheppard was selected by the Bills in the third round of the 2011 draft and has started 24 of the 32 games he has played. He has totaled 138 tackles, including 95 solo, with two sacks and a fumble recovery.'

Marker Buffalo Bills 2013 NFL Draft Review [1:56 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'C.'

Marker Bills trade LB Sheppard to Colts [1:55 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Hughes started six of the 16 games he played last year for the Colts. He had 41 tackles (29 solo), including a career-high 4.0 sacks and one pass break-up. Hughes was a first round draft pick (No. 31 overall) of the Colts in 2010. He has played 40 games (seven starts) and totaled 62 tackles (41 solo) and 5.0 sacks in his career.'

Marker Bills trade Sheppard to Colts [1:54 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Hughes struggled out of the gates after being selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Failing to get on the field all that much, Hughes finally got some chances in 2012. He had a career high in both tackles (41) and sacks (4) last season. Hughes is 6-foot-2, 254 pounds and turns 25 years old in August.'

Marker The Bills Make Me Wanna... [1:53 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'I don't mind telling you, I'm excited about this. Heck, I can't wait for the first practice. Seriously. I'm already looking forward to the first preseason game.'

Marker Star Power - Bills grab some, Sabres to give it up? [1:52 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'In EJ Manuel, the Bills have given us reason to believe that it’s somewhat possible. Drafting a QB in the first round means that you can entertain the idea that you may have a star on your team.'

Marker Bills trade LB Sheppard to Colts for LB Hughes [1:51 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Hughes (6’2” 254) played defensive end in college at TCU and started his pro career with the Colts as a defensive end in their previous 4-3 system. When the Colts switched to a 3-4 system under new head coach Chuck Pagano he moved to outside linebacker and was a subpackage rush player.'

Marker Bills agree to terms with 16 undrafteds, cut four [1:50 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'To make room on the roster the Bills released QB Aaron Corp, T Adam Grant, K Chris Koepplin and TE Joe Sawyer.'

Marker Manuel excited about his fit in Bills offense [2:00 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“I had a really good feel when I came up and met with Coach Marrone and Coach Hackett and Mr. Nix and Mr. Whaley and we had great conversations,” said Manuel. “I think I picked up the offense that he taught me and I think we met for four or five hours and I think they see I fit best into what they want to do.”'

Marker Speed and versatility personified in Bills draft class [2:00 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“Speed is hard to coach,” said Marrone. “I think that when you look at the picks you’re looking at players that have a lot of speed. I think the versatility is important because I think when you have versatility within the players then you don’t get stuck. Then you can get the best players on the field.”'

Marker Bills Got Much Faster In Draft [11:24 AM]
BillsDaily.com reports: Another draft is in the books and the Bills have shown what type of team they would like to be under Doug Marrone. They want to be a fast team and added a lot of speed to an offense that will play an up tempo game. On defense they looked for versatility to play the hybrid defense that Mike Pettine plans to run.

Marker Manuel Excited To Earn Trust Of New Teammates [11:20 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“He said this is a great town ... the fans love their football team. When they’re winning this is the best place to be in the world. Obviously, the fans all want this (team) to be back on the positive note.”'

Marker Draft Gives Bills Fans Plenty To Talk About [11:20 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'But, to me, there’s plenty to be excited about.'

Marker Bills Stick With Need Picks On Draft’s Last Day [11:19 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'If you weren’t sure what the Bills assessed as their areas of need, this year’s draft gave a strong indication.'

Marker Bills Fill Needs With Two Wideouts, LB [11:18 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'You can’t say the Buffalo Bills didn’t draft for need.'

Marker Bills take a chance on Rogers [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“It’s frustrating, but I did it to myself,” Rogers said of his draft stock two months ago at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. “And I realize how hard I have to work now that I’m behind the 8-ball. It’s going to make me work that much harder.”'

Marker The voice of the fans [1:58 AM]
Niagara Gazette reports: 'One thing was clear: Felser loved football, the way Buffalo fans do — not just for the dazzling one-handed catches or the thrilling touchdown drives, but for the hard-fought goal line stances and the gritty 3-yard struggles that so often make the difference between a win and a loss."

Marker Hopewell's Turnley signs with Bills [1:57 AM]
Beaver County Times reports: 'Turnley chatted with the Bills throughout the day Saturday and the conversations with the Bills were strong enough that it eliminated any drama. He added that several other teams contacted his agent, but Buffalo was always the frontrunner. It’s a little odd, because the Bills hadn’t been in touch with Turnley prior to the draft.'

Marker Tennessee Tech WR Rogers agrees to sign with Bills [1:56 AM]
AP reports: 'Aside from Rogers, the Bills also reached deals with two more undrafted rookie free agents. Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel and Eastern Washington receiver Brandon Kaufman agreed to sign with Buffalo, the players' agent, Cameron Foster, said.'

Marker Nix likes Bills' draft, I think, and more [1:55 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Anyway, as usual the Bills like all the teams drafted a bunch of guys I've never seen before. Maybe it will work out. It usually doesn't but you never know.'

Marker Bills draft assessment [1:54 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'I'm intrigued by one of the players signed after the draft was completed. The Bills agreed to a deal with Da'Rick Rogers, wide receiver from Tennessee Tech. He has good size at 6-2 and 217 pounds and he led the SEC in receiving in 2011 while playing for Tennessee. But Rogers was kicked off the team last August after failing multiple drug tests. The Bills pride themselves on having character players so this is out of character for them but if he's cleaned up his act, Rogers could turn out to be a steal.'

Marker Time will tell if Bills finally got the QB position straightenned out with EJ Manuel [1:53 AM]
ScottPitoniak.com reports: 'My first impression of Manuel is that he has the charisma and confidence you like to see in such a leadership position. Of course, none of this will matter unless he delivers the ball on-time to the right receiver and finds the end zone often on game day.'
