Marker ND now focused on Clements [9:27 AM]
South Bend Tribune reports: 'The knock on Clements is his low-key personality, lack of head coaching experience and limited background as assistant.'

Marker This is the week to get Bills in your lineup [8:55 AM]

Marker Browns wallow in mediocrity [8:53 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The players wouldn't mind if Robiskie sticks around. He is a locker room favorite and has gotten the players to buy into the notion that the past 12 games were nothing more than a preseason warm-up for the four-game regular season that begins Sunday.'

Marker Browns' specialists have been bright spots in dark year [8:52 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Neither the Bills nor Notre Dame would confirm if university officials met with Bills offensive coordinator Tom Clements about the Irish's head coaching vacancy. The Chicago Tribune reported that Athletics Director Kevin White, incoming school President Rev. John I. Jenkins and a prominent former Irish football player met with Clements in Buffalo late Thursday night.'

Marker Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns [6:24 AM]

Marker Evans fired up to face hometown Browns [5:26 AM]
Lorain Morning Journal reports: '''It means a lot,'' Evans said in a teleconference from Buffalo. ''Probably everybody back at home will be watching. It will be extra motivation for this game. Marker Browns in his blood [5:26 AM]
Canton Repository reports: 'The Bills will have to decide if Fletcher is worth a premium wage as he gets older. His 2004 salary is $2.5 million. He is scheduled to make $3 million in 2005, when he will be 30 years old. His contract runs through 2006, when he is scheduled to make $4 million.'

Marker Irish coaching hunt goes pro [4:55 AM]
Chicago Tribune reports: 'Although Clements is considered the frontrunner for the job, the Irish hierarchy still doesn't seem ready to settle on him. It has an interview scheduled Friday with New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, a Notre Dame graduate who didn't play football at the school.'

Marker Campbell Done, Neufeld Starts [10:39 PM] reports: '“Being like a free agent, an undrafted free agent, you're going to have to live in your car so to speak. My car's a mess, it’s been a mess the past year or two.” Trafford explained. “When the phone rings it's all about timing and you got to take advantage of your opportunities.”'

Marker Front runner emerges in Irish coaching race [10:38 PM]
WNDU-TV reports: 'Those who played with Clements and coached him can't say enough about him. Former Irish assistant coach Tom Pagna said, "He's played at every level, he's coached at every level. This guy brings a wealth of experience. Tommy's not a real emotional guy and if you're looking for emotion, then you miss the depth of the individual. This guy can do the job."'

Marker Cleveland (3-9) at Buffalo (6-6) [10:23 PM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Bills 27, Browns 10.'

Marker McGee proving to be a `Game Day' performer for Bills [8:02 PM]
AP reports: '''We called him `Game Day' because we've never seen a guy like that,'' linebacker and special teams player Angelo Crowell said Thursday. ''He limps around all week in practice and then the game comes, and it's like he's never been hurt.'''

Marker McGee makes best of new opportunity [6:51 PM] reports: "I can't help but think about Hawaii, you know, with the way things are going," allowed McGee, who has authored three of the NFL's 10 kickoff returns for touchdowns in 2004, the latest coming on a game-opening, 104-yard sprint against the Dolphins last Sunday.

Marker Blackout Deadline Extended [5:30 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Troy Vincent looks much better and may have a chance to finally return from a knee injury on Sunday. Tim Euhus was not on the field for the second straight day. He's listed as doubtful.'

Marker Bills Host “Shop with a Jock” [4:58 PM] reports: '"Giving back to the community is part of our job description as a football player in the NFL," said Milloy. "We go out there and we try to win ballgames for our fans and when they can see you out in the community giving back, it helps to boost the energy and the morale and that's what I get out of it."'

Marker Cleveland connection spurs on Bills [4:46 PM] reports: '"I know everyone back home will be watching," Evans said. "It's going to be a real motivating game. I'll come out to play like I do every game, but there's always a little bit extra when you know people back home are watching. I was a big Browns fan (as a kid). I remember being real down when the Browns left. It was sad for everybody. I know how Browns fans and Cleveland fans are." Fletcher echoed Evans' sentiment. "I'm still a Browns fan," Fletcher said. "I cheer for them except when we're playing against them. There's something about growing up in Cleveland - you just love the Browns."'

Marker Bills assistant tops ND's revised list [4:07 PM]
Chicago Sun Times reports: 'According to a source close to the situation, Clements will meet tonight with a group of Notre Dame officials, headed by athletic director Kevin White and president-elect John Jenkins, to discuss the possibility of Clements replacing Tyrone Willingham. "Nothing's imminent, but things could move quickly if Clements impresses during the interview,'' the source said. "Notre Dame wants to put this matter behind them as quickly as possible.'''

Marker Browns will not Roll Over for Bills [3:27 PM] reports: '"There are a lot of guys who are going to be playing for their jobs," linebacker and Cleveland native London Fletcher said. "Guys seem to rally around a new coach and want to show him they can make the plays. I expect them to give us a challenge this week."'

Marker Bills Receive Blackout Extension [3:27 PM] reports: 'The Bills have been granted a blackout extension by the NFL until 1:00 PM (ET) on Friday. This week's Bills-Browns game must be sold out by 1:00 PM tomorrow for the game to be broadcast locally.'

Marker Becoming a Head Coach is a Goal [3:26 PM] reports: 'I've got to take a lot of the blame for our performance in the first quarter against the Miami Dolphins last weekend. I should have probably attacked them more with blitzes like I saw other teams do on film. As a defense, we did some stuff out of character and were trying to make plays too much rather than just playing the defense. We've got good defensive players and I should have gone after the quarterback right off the bat and not have been so concerned about all the other stuff that was happening.'

Marker Fun in December [3:25 PM]
WOKR-TV reports: 'Bills 31 Browns 14.'

Marker Will Clements be a new Ara? [9:19 AM]
South Bend Tribune reports: '"What he projects is an amazing calm and class," said Failla, who was tutored by Clements in 1992 and '93 at Notre Dame and years later when he made a comeback in football. "He has a presence when you're around him. You get the sense that this guy really knows what's going on. I think he'd be tremendous. Recently the Notre Dame situation, particularly the coaching position, has been depicted as an absolutely helpless situation. Well he's exactly the kind of guy they need."'

Marker Offense on the rebound [8:53 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills were 30th in the NFL in scoring six games into the year, at which point they stood 1-5. They have gone 5-1 since and stand 12th in scoring.'

Marker Injuries taking toll at tight end [8:52 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills will be depleted for the rest of the season because starter Mark Campbell is out for the year with a knee injury, and reserve Tim Euhus is expected to miss significant time as well with a knee injury.'

Marker Baker, Greer beat the odds together [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I felt great," Greer said. "It was one of the best moments I've experienced. But I knew that that was a beginning. It's just one step on the ladder. First you got to make the team, then you have to continue to be ambitious and set other goals for yourself. We're just enjoying the life as of now. We've been blessed to be here."'

Marker Browns name McCown; Clements interview set [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Notre Dame officials are expected to conduct an interview Friday with Bills offensive coordinator Tom Clements for the Irish head coaching position. A university source told the Chicago Tribune that Athletics Director Kevin White, incoming university President Rev. John I. Jenkins and a former Irish football player are to fly to Buffalo today.'

Marker Ditka on Clements: 'He is a great coach' [7:35 AM]
