I think if we just realize Buffalo has a good football team with a lot of weapons, we'll be a lot better off. As hard as it's going to be, we have to treat it as another football game.'''

Marker Week 8: Bills-Lions Postgame Quotebook [8:24 PM] reports: Gregg Williams: "We win as a team and we lose as a team. Offensively we did some great things on controlling the clock and it was real nice to see the defense come up with an important stop at the end of the ball game. It was good confidence for the team."

Marker Week 8: Eric Moulds Postgame Quotes [6:24 PM] reports: Do you know that you guys have won three in a row? "It's a lot of fun. However, I think at the end of the game we were flat. Drew got kind of mad at us and he really motivated us to finish the game the way we started. I think we need to learn how to close games out. I think that has been a problem for us. We need to finish what we start."

Marker Backup Johnson won't be shy [10:31 AM]
St. Petersburg Times reports: '"I think his first three years, he was buried in Jacksonville behind Mark Brunell," Keyshawn Johnson said. "He came in, he played well, got traded to Buffalo. Here comes Little Corn Flakes. Little Corn Flake Flutie comes, he's the town hero, all 5-foot-7 of him. In Buffalo, the underdog city. Rob gets an opportunity to play. He gets hurt. Flutie comes in, scores against Jacksonville, runs around, makes some plays. Everybody is yelling, "Yeah!' So now they're all against Rob. Rob comes back, makes a few bad plays, makes a few good ones. Boo. So he's always in a battle there.'

Buffalo News reports: 'Football great Jim Kelly and his family will be honored with the first Compeer Award, to be presented Nov. 7 at a dinner to benefit Compeer West in the Buffalo Convention Center.'

Marker Excited Bills know to keep confidence in perspective [5:26 AM]
D and C reports: '“We’re home, the crowd will be jacked up, and you shouldn’t expect any letdown in this locker room,” Bills free safety Pierson Prioleau promised. “We have goals and we’re not close to any of those goals yet. It’s only October and we can only play the game this week. If you don’t take care of business today, there won’t be any business to take care of down the road.”'

Marker Henry hangs on to mom's advice [5:25 AM]
D and C reports: '“I told Travis that maybe he should put some glue on those hands of his,” Henry’s mother, Karnella Regis, recalled the other night from her home in Frostproof, Fla. “He laughed, but I was dead serious. I said, ‘Boy, you’ve got to hold onto that football. That football is your job. You keep letting people take it from you and pretty soon you are going to lose more than the ball.’''

Marker Q & A with Trey Teague [5:24 AM]
D and C reports: '’’Well at center, you’ve got to be a little more in tune with what everybody else on the line is doing. You have to be able to spit stuff out and get everyone on the same page. It’s true, he’s like the quarterback of the line.’’'

Marker Bills face off against Lions ... and overconfidence [5:21 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“Number one, the competition is going to pick up and, number two, I think we’ve opened some people’s eyes in the first seven games. We’re not going to sneak up on anyone ... they are going to be looking for us.”'

Marker Bledsoe’s been the story of the Bills’ season [5:21 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Clearly, when the Bills acquired him from New England for a first round draft choice last April, there was a perception that Buffalo’s quarterback problem was solved. But did anybody reasonably expect that Bledsoe would be the No. 3-rated QB in the NFL, less than halfway into the season ... or that the Bills would have a better record than the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots at that point?'

On Saturday, wide receiver Larry Foster was downgraded to doubtful because of a shoulder injury.'

Marker Game Day Notes: Bills [5:16 AM]
Detroit News reports: 'Tight end Jay Riemersma was a seventh-round draft pick from Michigan in 1996. He did not play as a rookie but has been a solid starter since. Riemersma almost did not return because of salary-cap considerations. He has 16 catches. "He's solid," Coach Gregg Williams said. "He's made some big catches at the end of the ballgame, when Drew has had to come back to the inside part of the field."'

Marker As Lions know well, new quarterback making big difference for Bills [5:15 AM]
Booth Newspapers reports: '"The big thing is if the person at that position can function, you can continue to build your team around that person," Williams said. "Usually, the quarterback is the focal point of the team because he touches the ball on every play. That player has to do his job so everybody else can do their job." And Bledsoe, with 15 touchdown passes and just five interceptions, has been doing that job consistently for the Bills.'
