Marker Assistant Jeff Weeks broke his foot falling down stairs at Buffalo Bills training camp [1:49 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"We forgot to touch on one medical issue or one injury update," Rex Ryan said in his first press conference of training camp Friday. "Jeff Weeks was injured. He broke his foot falling down the stairs. He was just bragging about the new shoes he was wearing. No truth to the fact that he was doing one of those Pokemon things. He was trying to text somebody and fell down the step and actually broke his foot. That's the only injury update. I know everybody is concerned."'

Marker Doug Whaley leaves door open for Cardale Jones to win Buffalo Bills' backup QB job [1:48 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"There's always a chance, but we're going into this hoping to get the old school approach," Whaley said. "Just store (Jones) for a year and see how he progresses and not put any pressure on him or a timetable and see what happens. You never know what's going to happen and I never say never, but right now, we just want him to try to be the best he can every single day."'

Marker Watkins, others won't be ready at start of Bills camp [1:47 AM]

We wanna continue to keep moving forward and see how well we can do out there on the field against other teams."'

Marker Bills place WR Watkins on PUP list [1:45 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'In addition, the team has placed defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, defensive back Jonathan Dowling, offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson and running back Karlos Williams on the active/non-football illness list.'

Marker LeSean McCoy on alleged role in bar fight: 'There's no excuses for it' [1:44 AM]
ESPN reports: '"You don't hear about other guys like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady getting into incidents like that. So I think sometimes you get so lackadaisical about being successful as a football player, and then you let all the minor, small things go. In a situation like that, [if" target="_blank"> you got security or you got even off-duty officers working for me at the time, and this thing never even gets out of hand."'

Marker McCoy: No excuses for bar incident, thankful for support from Pegulas [1:43 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“I called my owners, my coaches, to let them know exactly what happened,” he said. “I’m an honest person. I've never been in trouble a day in my life. I've been from nothing, a hardworking family, so I told everybody. I was honest and I was right. I didn't do anything wrong. And it was obvious. I mean you all read it. you all seen what happened. Nothing came out of it. It just sucks that your name gets dragged into so much negative press, you know, for just being in a situation that you had nothing to do with. But I mean but that's life. I'm not going to sit here and complain about it. It is what it is.”'

WROC-TV reports: '"What might have been a down year for him (last year), we all looked as 'this guy was awesome, he was a fantastic player for us'," Ryan said. "This is going to be scary because if he can play much better than he did last year, we'll sign up for that."'

Marker Stephon Gilmore committed to his team, his game and his value [1:38 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“It wasn’t really a long thinking process. Marker Tyrod Taylor must take steps forward for Bills [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“Being the quarterback, guys look to you for motivation, they look to you for a number of things,” he said. “But more so, the execution starts with you. If you can get everybody in the right place, if you’re going out there and executing at a high level each and every play, the guys can trust you and rely on you. So it starts with me and I have to lead by example out there on the field and continue to spread the message to my teammates, offense and defense.”'

Marker Bills not among teams with interest in Foles [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'General Manager Doug Whaley has made no secret about the tremendous amount of faith he has in Manuel as a backup. He has gone as far as to describe him as the best No. 2 QB in the NFL.'

Marker Power Take: Listenbee, Goodwin could give Bills no speed limit [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Defensive coordinators are going to play a safety over the top of Sammy Watkins a lot. But if Listenbee or Goodwin is a legitimate threat on the other side, opposing defensive coordinators will experience extreme pucker factor. I have to defend elite speed on both sides of the field? And I have to worry about LeSean McCoy’s elite speed? If the defense has to respect all three of those speed options, it will be as if the field is 70 yards wide and 120 yards long. It would give Buffalo a critical mass of elite speed.'

Marker Power Take: Woods doesn’t look the part of No. 2 receiver [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Defenses will double Sammy Watkins and dare Taylor to make tough throws. He needs another playmaking wideout. Woods doesn’t fit the bill.'

Marker Get to know the Bills' opponents: Offseason recap of the Cleveland Browns [1:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'How many of the Browns' 14 draft picks will stick on the 53-man roster. Answering that question will begin to show just how far along the Browns' rebuild really is.'

Marker Ragged defense gets Ragland [1:54 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“We’re in the elevator and my dad goes, ‘My son is going to be the next Bruce Smith,’ " Ragland said of the chance encounter. “It’s crazy how it worked out. I’m going to play like Bruce, be like Bruce, but at the same time I know I have to create my own legacy.’''

Marker Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in free agent QB Nick Foles [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Foles would be an upgrade, though maybe not a drastic one. After a breakout season in 2013 in which he threw 27 touchdowns and just two interceptions, Foles has come back down to earth. He's started just 19 games the last two seasons and thrown 20 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.'

Marker Bills' Sammy Watkins says foot is healed heading into camp, plays pickup basketball [1:52 AM]

Marker Football is back! Sort of... [1:50 AM]
Livingston County News reports: 'The offense should be good enough to catapult the Bills into the playoffs. It’s the defense that remains the biggest question mark, and the success of the Bills will largely be defined by their performance on that side of the ball.'

Marker New Patriots receiver Chris Hogan on why he wanted out of Buffalo [1:49 AM]

Marker Ryan banking on rookies to shore up defense [1:48 AM]
SI reports: 'The first three games against the Colts, Giants and Redskins give Ryan’s defense a chance to get reps against some dangerous passing games. Will the unit be able to get consistent pressure on Luck, Manning and Cousins in the short time it’s on the field against them?'

Marker Bills training camp preview: Defensive Backs (CB and S) [1:47 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'It appears as though Gilmore is healthy and ready to go, but we won’t know until we actually see him on the field after recovering from shoulder surgery. That is, assuming he will even be at camp as he could possibly make a statement about his contractual situation. I expect him to be there day one, or shortly after if he misses any time at all. And as soon as he is, he’s immediately the team’s number one CB with Darby right behind him and lined up across from him. Last year, that tandem made up one of the best duos in the league and both will get the unquestioned starters’ reps at Fisher.'

Marker Ryan: Adolphus to get First-Team Reps in Training Camp [1:46 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I think a veteran guy needs to probably be in that leadership role for the Bills to sign, but I'm looking forward to what they have. It's not like they don't have running backs back there. There are young guys, are you looking for a veteran guy? I don't know. At this point I would maybe just wait and see," he said.'

Marker Expectations among Bills staff are high [1:45 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"We went in [to minicamp" target="_blank"> with the idea that we're going to get better, focus more, and learn our assignments to the best of our abilities, and we did that," Ryan said on the John Murphy Show on Thursday afternoon at training camp. "As we were leaving, it was like, 'Man, I guess we got this little bump in the road called summer vacation.' Everybody looks forward to it, but to me, I couldn't wait for [training camp" target="_blank">, to get back with the players. It's good that they get away a little bit, but they did so well. I just can't wait to see how we are, and if, in fact, we're taking off from where we left off."'

Marker Thurman Thomas Weighs in Taylor, Bush, Drought [1:44 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I think a veteran guy needs to probably be in that leadership role for the Bills to sign, but I'm looking forward to what they have. It's not like they don't have running backs back there. There are young guys, are you looking for a veteran guy? I don't know. At this point I would maybe just wait and see," he said.'
