Marker Bills offense flatlines in loss to Chargers [1:22 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'On the Chargers first five possessions, covering the first half and opening drive of the third quarter, San Diego put 20 points up on the board and rolled up 336 yards. The Chargers, who had the ball for more than 42 minutes in a week two triumph over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, had scoring drives that covered 75 yards, 89, 61 and 80.'

Marker Bills streak skids to halt, lose to Chargers 22-10 [1:21 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The mistakes were plenty for the Bills, whether it was accuracy issues from their quarterback, poor coverage from their secondary or getting called on 11 penalties for 101 yards. No matter how close the score was at times throughout the game, Buffalo continued to shoot themselves in the foot.'

Marker Offense Stalls [1:20 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'After driving to a touchdown on their only 3rd Quarter possession, the Bills offense stalled out on back to back drives. The first ended with Manuel taking a 17 yard loss on a sack that could've been even worse. Manuel fumbled but the Bills recovered and punted. On the next possession Manuel rushed a throw to an open Robert Woods that had big gainer, maybe even long touchdown, written all over it. Manuel sailed the ball behind Woods, who wasn't expecting the throw that early. At least that is what I'm assuming by the fact that Woods wasn't even looking for the ball. That drive ended on a failed 4th down attempt. Manuel floated a ball in the general direction of Sammy Watkins but it really wasn't even close.'

Marker Observations: Chargers 22 - Bills 10 [1:19 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'His stat line looks respectable for those that only stick to the box score: 23-of-39, 238 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. There are some misleading parts to the numbers that really don’t paint the picture the correct way.'

Marker Bills Bounced by Bolts [1:18 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'I thought Manuel showed some positive signs in the first two games. Sunday it seemed the Bills were asking too much for him to pull the team back from a 17 point deficit.'

Marker Bills turn in lackluster effort [1:16 AM]
WROC-TV reports: 'A blah performance in a game they could have won. A tough stretch awaits. Two wins in the next three games are probably a must if they want their famine to end.'

Marker Immediate Reactions: San Diego Chargers 22, Buffalo Bills 10 [1:15 AM]
NickMendola.com reports: 'Thrice in the game, Bills receivers failed to even look for the ball on quick decisions by Manuel. This includes the critical 4th-and-3 with eight minutes to play, when Manuel found Watkins. Watkins, however, didn’t even look for the ball for the second time over the game. Woods had a similar problem on a crossing route.'

Marker Chargers Knock Off Bills 22-10 [1:14 AM]
Bills Daily reports: 'The Chargers were making many big plays on offense but the biggest one ended the little bit of momentum the Bills had in the first half. Dan Carpenter had just hit a 45 yard field goal to pull the Bills within a touchdown when on the next play from scrimmage. Rivers hit a wide open Malcolm Floyd for 49 yards to set the Chargers up for a late field goal to get their 10 point lead back at the half.'

Marker Week 3: Chargers Dominate Bills 22-10 [1:13 AM]
Bills Daily reports: 'Doug Marrone didn't seem to have the team prepared for the windy conditions and they came out flat.'

Marker Bills can’t stage comeback in loss to Chargers [1:12 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'After six trips to the red zone in Week 2, Buffalo managed just one trip inside the Chargers’ 20 in Week 3 until the final minute of regulation.'

Marker Fred Jackson one of few bright spots in loss [1:11 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Jackson led the team in rushing and receiving yards with 34 and 78, respectively, in addition to scoring the Bills only touchdown of the day.'

Marker Keith Rivers inactive, Robert Woods active for Week 3 [12:50 PM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Brown is penciled in as the starter in place of Keith Rivers, who is inactive for the Bills' Week 3 game against the San Diego Chargers with a groin injury. Marker The man behind the Chargers’ resurgence [12:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“He deserves a lot of credit. He inherited a Chargers roster with poor depth, a crisis on the offensive line, salary cap issues and little pass rush. He’s since developed the roster to a point I actually have them winning the AFC West this year. Telesco’s been terrific."'

Buffalo News reports: 'Bills 26, Chargers 24.'

Rochester D&C reports: '“They have a lot of starters on their (special) teams,” Marrone said of the Seahawks, who routinely use players like Percy Harvin, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Doug Baldwin, Malcolm Smith and Kam Chancellor. “For us, (starters) have embraced that role that we talked about. … We feel very comfortable about where our players are right now on our teams’ situation.”'

Marker Three ... and out [12:52 AM]

Marker Renovated ‘Ralph’ gives Pegulas plenty to ponder [12:51 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'But how do they feel about the long-term future of Ralph Wilson Stadium and the lease running until 2022 they inherited? Until their purchase of the Bills becomes official at league meetings on Oct. 8, the Pegulas are under a self-imposed gag order. But 31 other NFL owners are asking them questions and telling them their opinions.'

Marker Jim Schwartz rubbing off on Buffalo Bills defense with attention to detail heading into big matchup [12:50 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"Everyone just has attention to detail," defensive end Jerry Hughes said. "The way we go out every week, notepads and pencils in hand going into our meetings, and everyone is quiet. It's almost, in a sense, a classroom-like setting. We're taking notes and trying to learn as much as we can from Schwartz, so that way when we step out on the field, we're kind of working through him. We know how he thinks and understand how he likes to operate."'

Marker Bills ready to take on battle-tested Chargers [12:49 AM]
Dunkirk Observer reports: '"I don't worry about it," Bills' quarterback E.J. Manuel said when asked if he was worried his team would experience a letdown in intensity and emotion today. "I think as a process, we enjoyed it Sunday and we moved on to Monday. We knew we had a new opponent. San Diego's a great team. They just beat the Seahawks, so they're obviously going to be on a high as well, so we just have to prepare for them.'

Marker Bills offensive coordinator Hackett never panicked in August [12:48 AM]

Marker 5 things to watch for during Bills - Chargers [12:45 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'It won’t be a walk in the park for the Bills this weekend against a potent Chargers offensive attack. If they have a relapse of their red zone woes again in Week Three, they could be in trouble. However, the San Diego defense isn’t as good as the one that Buffalo faced last week against the Dolphins and there will be more opportunities for the offense to capitalize on. Expect the run game to play a much bigger role for Buffalo, which could be the key to the Bills’ first 3-0 start since 2011.'
