Marker Bills legend Andre Reed on potential new Buffalo owner: 'F--- Bon Jovi' [1:50 AM]
New York Daily News reports: 'As for Reed, his contempt goes far beyond rock stars-turned-potential NFL team owners. The seven-time Pro Bowl receiver saved his harshest criticism for Cleveland Browns rookie Jonny Manziel.'

Reed also was critical of Manziel, citing a recent tweet by Johnny Football calling LeBron James "my guy" after the Akron native announced that he was returning home to Cleveland to play for the Cavaliers.'

Marker Jon Bon Jovi Is the Most Hated Man in Buffalo [10:07 AM]
New York Magazine reports: 'But as rich as Bon Jovi is—his band ranks 13th on Forbes’ “Celebrity 100,” and his personal estimated net worth approaches $300 million—NFL ownership is reserved only for the wealthiest: The Bills are the NFL’s third-least-valuable franchise, ahead of only Jacksonville and Oakland, but are still expected to sell for more than $1 billion. Bon Jovi couldn’t buy the team on his own, so he has teamed up with a group of businessmen in Toronto who own the Maple Leafs, the Raptors, and the Air Canada Centre, where he has played 19 concerts since 2000.'

Marker Mike Williams gets fresh start with Bills [9:17 AM]
Canandaigua Daily Messenger reports: '“Mike is going to be a huge asset for us out wide,” Manuel said. “He's a guy who, in the red zone, teams will know we're going to him, and even though they'll know I'm throwing to him, he'll still be able to come down with some balls. Sammy (Watkins) is showing it too. He can go up high and get the ball, and as a quarterback, that's awesome. It gives me a lot more room for error as far as when I throw the ball up to a guy, just wanting to give him an opportunity to make a play.”'

Marker Manuel continues to improve [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Manuel has not looked great the first week of training camp. He has looked good at times. He has made some sharp, impressive throws. His arm strength is excellent. But there are enough times in every practice in which he doesn’t get the ball out of his hands quickly to make one pause. Should he look more sure of himself?'

Marker Glenn should be ready for opener [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'A sign the Bills aren’t in crisis mode at left tackle is their reluctance to acquire veteran help such as free-agent Eric Winston. Rookie tackle Seantrel Henderson, a wild card with a checkered past that caused him to plummet into the seventh round, has held down the fort quite well so far.'

Marker Tempers flare at practice [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'WR Chris Hogan caught everything in sight. The starting defensive line was stellar. Ron Brooks had a great interception. EJ Manuel hit a pretty bomb to Marquise Goodwin.'

Marker Initial bids for Bills to be submitted [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Expected to submit notifications are Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula; the Toronto-based group with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment executive Larry Tanenbaum and rock star Jon Bon Jovi; former Sabres owner Tom Golisano; and billionaire developer Donald Trump. Other possibilities include bond investor Jeffrey Gundlach of Amherst and Pabst Brewing Company owner C. Dean Metropoulos.'

Marker Bills' Searcy, Williams engaged in position battle [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'He is the starter at strong safety as training camp rolls into its second week at St. John Fisher College, and while he's being pushed by second-year player Duke Williams, Searcy is confident that it's his job to lose.'

Marker Macky MacPherson forced to defend himself during fight in Bills training camp practice [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"That's just two guys playing football," MacPherson said after practice. "That happens."'

Marker Donald Trump on becoming Bills owner: 'Chances are very, very unlikely' [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"I like buying things, so we’ll see what happens," Trump said. "I’ll put a bid in and we’ll see. I would be good. The team is Buffalo, as you know. We’ll see what happens."'

Marker Doug Marrone puts stop to fights, and 5 observations from Bills training camp [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'That's when Marrone got into an animated exchange with defensive line coach Pepper Johnson and then called the offensive and defensive lines together for a huddle while special teams drills were going on. Laughs were exchanged, and players didn't have any hard feelings after practice.'

Marker Four quick thoughts on the team's first depth chart of training camp [1:51 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Nigel Bradham is listed as the starter at weakside linebacker in place of the injured Kiko Alonso. Bradham has been getting most of the first-team reps in practice, so that's not a huge surprise. Meanwhile, Stevenson Sylvester, who has been with the team for just over a week, is listed as Bradham's primary backup. Preston Brown is listed as the second-team middle linebacker.'

Marker Bills LT expected back for season opener, according to report [1:50 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Glenn is expected to play in at least one preseason game for the Bills and start the season opener at left tackle, according to a report in the Buffalo News.'

Marker Sammy Watkins, Seantrel Henderson among Bills most impressive rookies early in training camp [1:49 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Until then, here's a look at how the rookies are performing in the order in which they were drafted.'

Marker Donald Trump doesn't like chances [1:48 AM]
ESPN reports: '"We'll see what happens. Everyone knows I'm bidding," he said in an interview Monday with Fox News. "But many other people will be bidding. I would say the chances are very, very unlikely because I'm not going to do something totally stupid -- maybe a little bit stupid, but not totally stupid."'

Marker Banned in Buffalo? Movement among Bills fans gives Bon Jovi, his music a bad name [1:48 AM]
Yahoo! Sports reports: '"It's a big threat," Pellien said of Bon Jovi's possible bid. "He's aligned with guys from Toronto. They've got more money than everybody else. We don't believe they will keep the Bills in Buffalo. Why would they?"'

Marker Reed HOF induction gives Bills cause to celebrate [1:47 AM]
AP reports: '"This is bigger than me," Reed said. "We all know what's going on with the team and all that stuff. This is like a breath of fresh air. I'm glad I'm at the forefront of this, because there's something to be happy about."'

Marker Does extra preseason game give Bills an edge in regular-season opener? [1:46 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'However, since the new CBA rules came into play, teams with the extra week of preseason work are 3-1 in their regular season openers.'

Marker Bills training camp observations: Day 8 [1:45 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'While the Buffalo Bills were a team on paper, they were divided by offense and defense as two separate entities for a solid 30 minute stretch on Monday night. Tempers flared and it resulted in some activities that head coach Doug Marrone is not very fond of, but it also led to the most spirited practice to date.'

Marker Bills turn fiesty in rescheduled practice [1:44 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The Bills practiced just over two hours and things got testy, especially with the defensive line. Marrone seemed beside himself having two very long and animated talks with coach Pepper Johnson and another talk with Kyle and Mario Williams. This was the sixth straight practice with pads and Marrone said, “Really the thought process is that we play in pads, so I like to practice in pads. We've been going one period live. Tonight no, because of the change in the schedule. They get a day off and we're not going live every period, so [we're] just trying to get back and get used to it.”'

Marker Bills OC looking for quicker trigger from Manuel [1:43 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"You go into year two, its not a new system anymore. You want him to be able to operate the system, feel comfortable with the system, to start making plays and not thinking about what that play is and how to get the guys lined up" Hackett said. "Now he doesn’t need to think about the stuff anymore. He gets to go out there and just react and play, start looking at the defense and thinking about when he can pull the trigger a little earlier."'

Marker Bills' Schwartz gives gilmpse into blitz philosophy [1:42 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I think any time you can blitz on your own terms, you're at an advantage defensively," he said. "By that I mean you don't have to blitz to get a pass rush. If you can rely on your front four to get a pass rush, you can do so many more things with your coverage. And then when you want to blitz, you can blitz. It's not, 'Well we've got to get pressure on the quarterback so we have to blitz.' And I think that's one of the advantages of having a strong front four."'

Marker What they're saying: Monday night football [1:41 AM] reports: 'Well, I can say for the defensive line at least, we’re pretty well into the playbook. We’ve got a pretty good grasp of what’s going on. I think the biggest change will probably be as far as the linebackers go, we’ve got a lot of new faces at the linebacker position, and then those guys have to learn the system. They have to learn a lot because our linebackers, they have to know everything. Up front I think we’re doing pretty good at grasping things. I don’t sit in the linebackers room during meetings, so I couldn’t speak to that, but up front we’re doing pretty good.'
