Marker Darby gets more lessons on NFL life the hard way [12:14 AM]

He was even beat for 16 yards by a player named Shakim Phillips.'

Marker Smoke screens surround Bills’ QB competition [12:14 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Based on his performance the last two preseason games, Tyrod Taylor deserves to be the starter. If this truly were an open competition, as Ryan insisted, Taylor did more than the other contenders to warrant the No. 1 job.'

Marker Jackson makes a statement with long run, touchdown [12:14 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I still have a lot to prove and that’s how I approach the game,” Jackson said. “Just continue to prove yourself and today was a good step in the right direction.”'

Marker The QB Report: Now the Bills really do have a tough decision to make [12:14 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'EJ Manuel: He started and promptly showed off that big arm of his on his second pass attempt of the night, connecting with Charles Clay for a 67-yard touchdown. Then, he returned to the game in the third quarter and found Tobias Palmer for a 37-yard score. Finished the night 7-for-8 for 170 yards and a perfect passer rating of 158.3. Looked as comfortable and as confident as he has at any time since joining the Bills in 2013.'

Marker Bills quarterbacks go 30 of 33 for 386 yards in 43-19 win over Pittsburgh [12:14 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Whereas Matt Cassel mostly dinked and dunked underneath in completing 6 of 7 passes for 38 yards, Taylor brought the excitement again. He went 12 of 13 for 122 yards --- pump-faking, calmly looking off defenders, showing sharp accuracy --- and also sprinted ahead on a 20-yard touchdown run.'

Marker Ryan's decision grows tougher, QBs shine in win [12:14 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I talked about the problem I always wanted, and I think I got it," Ryan said. "But to me it's not a problem. All three guys had a tremendous preseason, and that's all you can ask. I feel really good about how they did."'

Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"He's got his confidence back," Bradham said with a smile. "He's got his confidence and you can see it. Marker Observations from Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel from preseason game 3 [12:14 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Tyrod Taylor was the last of the Bills' three quarterbacks to take the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their third preseason game Saturday, but he made the strongest impression.'

Marker Buffalo Bills Report Card [12:14 AM]
Auburn Citizen reports: ''Taylor's mobility wasn't a secret. What has been the biggest surprise is his throwing ability. He has proven to be an effective passer and his legs help him make plays with his arm. Yes, it's the preseason. But he led the Bills on two touchdown drives and made a throw to set up a field goal at the end of the first half.'

Marker Bills, Ryan to choose a QB on Sunday … But who? [12:14 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: 'And yet the picture is even more muddled, four weeks later, after each of the trio played about as well as anyone could have expected of any quarterback in a trio of preseason games.'

Marker Manuel excels in Bills' 43-19 preseason win over Steelers [12:14 AM]

"The decision will be made and we'll move forward."'

Marker Manuel, Taylor Shine in 43-19 Romp Over Steelers [12:14 AM]

Aaron Williams and Stefan Charles were also banged up, but both returned to the field. Marcell Dareus (calf) sat out for precautionary reasons, according to head coach Rex Ryan.'

Marker Bills' QB's have put in their best work [12:14 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The decision on who will be the Bills starter in game one against the Colts will be made by tomorrow. Rex Ryan said it’ll be done, but he is not going to announce it. It should be interesting.'

Marker Rex: Will ''probably'' make QB decision on Sunday [12:14 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“I talked about the problem I wanted. I think I got it,” Ryan said after the game. “But to me it’s not a problem. All three guys had a tremendous preseason and that’s all you can ask. I think we’ll address it at the appropriate time. But, obviously, I feel really good about all the quarterbacks.”'

Marker QBs shine again; await final decision on starter [12:14 AM] reports: '“I was going to go two series and two series and two series,” said Ryan of his plan with his three quarterbacks. “But then they scored (quickly) and I’m like, shoot I’m going to go back to EJ because he had only thrown two balls albeit one for a zillion-yard touchdown. That’s why I wanted to get him a little more work too. He did a great job.”'

Marker Bills’ Incognito wants respect, but don’t ask him to change [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I’m going to continue bringing it,” Incognito said. “The easy narrative is ‘Oh, he’s this changed man.’ I’ve definitely changed for the better, but I think what you see is a guy who’s just really focused.'

Marker Jackson is ready for action with Bills [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I’ve got to show that I’m still here to compete, still here to make plays whenever I get that opportunity,” he said. “It’s on me to go out and show that I can still do that. I’m accepting that challenge and looking forward to it. This should be a good test for me."'

But it wasn't the worst time of my life because I knew it was something I can come back from. I just had to stay focused."'

Marker Introducing the Bills’ ‘All Playoff Drought Team’ [1:56 AM]

Marker 5 things to watch in Bills - Steelers [1:54 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Do not belittle the importance of this game — at least not for the men vying for the starting quarterback job. The Bills may have already made up their mind as to who they choose to be the starter in 2015, but the players don’t know that. They are still operating under the premise that the third preseason game, at least from what Rex Ryan has said publicly, will be the last test before they decide on their man.'

Marker Five players to watch [1:53 AM] reports: 'Red Bryant: He surprisingly saw a bit of action last week at Cleveland, and figures to see a good deal more playing time against Pittsburgh. Buffalo’s defensive staff wants to see how much the big-bodied Bryant still has to give at 31-years old.'

Marker Camp is over; now it starts to get intense [4:08 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“It (now) starts being real to these players. That first cut to 75 comes (next Tuesday) and it’s hard to get them to focus on the team when, individually, you’ve got to make the team first. You could start feeling that intensity, the anxiety (today), all of it combined right now as we get closer to playing this third preseason game.”'

Marker Bills hand ball to Manuel for game with Steelers [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'So much for the so-called tradition of the third preseason game serving as a tune-up for the regular season, with starters getting their most extended action of the summer. On Saturday, the No. 1 QB spot will be divvied up three ways, with Manuel, Cassel and Taylor each working with the starting group in a rotation that likely will run through the first series of the third quarter.'

Marker Hogan confident of sticking to roster [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I feel pretty comfortable,” Hogan said. “But when this kind of stuff happens, you take a step back and help these young guys. You take all the mental reps you can and put yourself out there as much as you can even though you’re not physically out there.”'
