Marker Bills sign WR Roosevelt, DT Cohen [1:40 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Cohen joins his sixth club in six seasons. He played for current Bills defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz in Detroit during his first two seasons. He also has spent time with New England, Chicago, Dallas and Jacksonville.'

Marker Bills DT Dareus failed conditioning test [1:39 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: '"We're not just going to put him out there every day," Marrone said. "We'll wait until our weight coaches say, 'Hey, you know what, we're ready to go and let's go.'"'

Marker Bills' Dareus excused from camp for court date in Alabama [1:38 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“At the present time, I have excused Marcell,” the coach revealed. “He is taking care of some personal stuff, but he'll be like everybody else. You've seen him before on the side, training and getting ready to pass the physical.”'

Marker Bills' Marrone mum on Glenn's illness [1:37 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '"I don't know that. It's a medical condition. I'm preparing to go on as if he's not playing, which he's not," Marrone said. "I'm just waiting for the doctors, and I can't speak about the condition because it's something that happened outside of football."'

Marker Naaman Roosevelt back with the Bills [1:36 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Roosevelt will be joined on the roster by former seventh-round pick and defensive tackle Landon Cohen. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Cohen played with both the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears last season and has eight career starts since entering the league in 2008. He was added likely as a result of the Bills being without both Marcell Dareus and Alan Branch (Active/Non-Football Injury) to start camp.'

Marker Bills' Bradham gets first crack at weakside; devastated for Alonso [1:35 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“Any way I can contribute to the team, I know they're counting on me to step up,” Bradham remarked. “They know what I can do and I know what I can do. We can't replace Kiko but you can have some guys step up and make some plays just as well, and that's one of the things you have to do."'

Marker Bills training camp observations: Day 2 [1:34 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Sammy Watkins picked a great day to have his best practice as a member of the Buffalo Bills. With the bigwigs at ESPN, NFL Network, FoxSports1 and the MMQB all in attendance on Monday afternoon, Watkins put on a show for all to see.'

Marker Buffalo Bills aiming to become NFL's next worst-to-first wonder [1:33 AM]
NFL.com reports: 'The situation here feels urgent. As Whaley alluded to, the once-proud Bills last played more than 16 games -- a birthright during the halcyon heyday of Jim Kelly and Co. -- in 1999, and the only owner the franchise has known, Ralph Wilson Jr., passed away in March. The team is up for sale. The brass dealt their 2015 first-round pick to move up five spots in May's draft and come away with Sammy Watkins. Last year's No. 1 was spent on a quarterback. The feeling here, very clearly, is that the time is now.'

Marker D turns up heat, Watkins shines [1:32 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“With the crowd noise and the music that coach Marrone has playing during practice it’s causing us to communicate and guys are just flying around to the ball,” Hughes told Buffalobills.com. “When you turn on the film it’s looking great.”'

Marker Doug Marrone: Sammy Watkins ''a fearless player'' [1:31 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'We brought him in here to do that and he’s done a really good job. He has. He’s made plays in this camp. You guys have seen it. We just need to make sure that we continue developing him. He’s going against good players. He’s working with the first team, so he’s going against our corners and all of our guys. He’s a good football player and I think it’s one that, you sit there and the guy is making plays. I think a lot of people are excited.'

Marker Bills bring back WR Roosevelt, sign DT Cohen [1:30 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Roosevelt (6-0, 200) returns to the Bills after spending parts of two seasons with the team from 2010 to 2011. He appeared in 16 games and recorded 25 receptions for 396 yards and a touchdown. The University at Buffalo product now gives the Bills four Buffalo natives on their roster, joining Derek Brim, Corey Graham, and Mike Williams.'

Marker Futures hang in balance at Bills' camp [1:32 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'But for those currently employed by the team — specifically, front office staffers, scouting personnel and coaches — there’s a more immediate reality. No matter, the team will have a new owner, possibly even before 2015. And those buying pro sports franchises — given their enormous value — have historically put their own people in the positions of greatest responsibility. That’s why there’s so much inferred pressure on President/CEO Russ Brandon, General Manager Doug Whaley and head coach Doug Marrone, in particular.'

Marker Out-of-shape Dareus sits, Watkins becomes immediate fan favorite [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'How disappointed is the coach in his troubled Pro Bowler? “He’s not the only one,” Marrone said. “But obviously you want your players to come in ready to go. We’re here for a long period of time, and we’ll make up for it.”'

Marker Playoff drought defies law of averages [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'It has become shallow and redundant to say the culture has changed, rhetoric that began when Chan Gailey was still the coach. There may have been a shift in attitude, but that didn’t translate to an improvement on the field. The results have looked mostly the same for years.'

Marker Improved Bills have playoffs on their minds [1:57 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"Being where we've been as an organization on the field is unacceptable," said team president and CEO Russ Brandon. "It is certainly unacceptable to me. It's all about winning. There is nothing else, absolutely nothing else that matters. We've made changes and we're not going to sit on our hands and not let any sand get under our shoes when it comes to trying to put a winning product on the field. That's what we're all about."'

Marker Sammy Watkins is eager to impress [1:56 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I feel like I'm getting better every day, focusing on the little things and the details," Watkins said in mid-June, just before the offseason work concluded. "Once I get myself from thinking to just playing, it'll be easier. When I know what I'm doing, I look good, but when I don't, it's kind of like in between. Once I get past that I'll be OK."'

Marker GM Doug Whaley: 'It's always a win-now' [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"We're expecting to win, so I don't understand why everybody keeps saying it's a win-now situation," Whaley said prior to the Bills' first practice at St. John Fisher College on Sunday night in front of a packed and enthusiastic crowd inside Growney Stadium. "It's always a win-now. That's what sports are for."'

Marker Marcell Dareus out due to failed conditioning test [1:54 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"At the present time he hasn't been able to pass all the tests to get him on the field, so we're working on that, trying to get him ready to go," Marrone said prior to what was a nearly 2½-hour first practice. "He's not the only one, but obviously you want your players to come in ready to go. We're here for a long period of time so we'll make up for it."'

Marker Buffalo Bills kick off training camp [1:53 AM]
Canandaigua Daily Messenger reports: '“I thought it went pretty well,” defensive end Jerry Hughes said. “It's the first practice, so we finally got things on tape. Now we can sit down and analyze it tomorrow. We just need to get better day by day. Our plan is to take it inch by inch, day by day and keep improving as a team.”'

Marker Sammy Watkins' big night and 5 observations from day one [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'He sprinted up field with a smooth release at the line of scrimmage and with one smooth cut created at least two steps of separation between him and cornerback Michael Carter. The ball was waiting for him along the sidelines, and the No. 4 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft plucked it out of the air with ease.'

Marker Buffalo Bills left tackle Seantrel Henderson leaves first practice with apparent hip injury [1:51 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Bills coach Doug Marrone said Henderson will get a chance to compete during camp, but an injury is not a good way for a rookie to start his career.'

Marker Peter King, NFL Network add to atmosphere at first night [1:50 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'For three hours, the national media — most of whom haven't been kind to Buffalo in preseason predictions — will be fixated on the Bills.'

Marker Bills coach Doug Marrone talks about Seantrel Henderson, can't discuss Cordy Glenn's illness [1:49 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Marrone has an offensive line background, so with the right attitude, Henderson could develop into a quality starter for Buffalo. The talent has always been there, it's just been a matter of motivation and consistent focus.'

Marker Buffalo Bills fan honors Ralph Wilson with tattoo of the late owner [1:48 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Jack Meredith stood in the front row of the stands of Growney Stadium at St. John Fisher College and was showing off his tattoo to anyone who was interested. Colored blue, red and white, Wilson's face was clearly pictured on his right bicep. Meredith, who is from Waterloo, tried to use the tattoo to get players' attention early on in practice.'

Marker Seantrel Henderson, once the 'next big thing,' getting another chance [1:47 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'For the first time in a long time, Henderson is catching a break. Now the only question is whether he's willing to help himself and take advantage of this opportunity. Because if he doesn't, there may not be another one.'

Marker Buffalo Bills might have NFL's deepest group of running backs [1:46 AM]
Toronto Sun reports: '“You’ve just got to keep on giving those guys the ball,” Bills offensive coordinator Nathan Hackett said during the team’s mandatory mini-camp. “They all want the ball, and that’s what you want as an offensive coordinator. You want guys that are hungry for it and want the ball every single second.”'

Marker Jaworski mum on Bon Jovi's bid to buy Buffalo Bills [1:45 AM]
Philadelphia Inquirer reports: 'Jaworski was born and raised in the Buffalo suburb of Lackawanna, N.Y. He's revered up there and has remained close friends with Bon Jovi, who gave up his stake in the Soul following the 2008 championship season.'

Marker Bills GM concerned with DT Dareus' latest setback [1:44 AM]
AP reports: '"His mindset's better once he's here," Whaley said, referring to the practice field. "And I think we'll find out with his actions. And I think he's ready to disprove all this stuff that he's a bad seed."'

Marker Marrone: Bills DT Dareus fails conditioning test [1:43 AM]
AP reports: 'Coach Doug Marrone provided the update on Sunday, before the Bills' first practice in suburban Rochester. Marrone said trainers will work with Dareus to get him in shape so that he can be cleared for practice as soon as possible.'
