Marker Jumping the gun? McGahee says he's the starter [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'It would be interesting to see how Henry handles a demotion. He wasn't happy when the Bills drafted McGahee in the first round of the 2003 draft. He eventually accepted the situation, realizing that McGahee did not pose an immediate threat because he was recovering from reconstructive knee surgery. But the idea of losing playing time won't sit well with Henry, who spent most of the second half on the bench last Sunday.'

Marker Past glory haunts Vinny and Bledsoe [6:30 AM]
Yale Daily News reports: 'Watching Pennington and Brady, there was a sharpness in their craft, an alertness, if you will. Come to think of it, I think what's made Bledsoe and Testaverde look so old lately is the absence of that alertness. They've lost both the youthful ability to think in the pocket and the hunger in their eyes. And sadly enough, the loss of these factors has nothing to do with age.'

Marker Wednesday's Arizona Coverage [6:29 AM]
TwoBillsDrive.com reports:
Extending contracts now will pay future dividends (Arizona Republic)
Great to see NFL games have some kick (East Valley Tribune)
Could the Cardinals be for real? (The Sports Network)

Marker Flashback: Bills Blow Out Cardinals [6:28 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"There has been some rough games," Mohr laughed. "We played Detroit [Dec. 12, ‘91], I think it was the last game of the year. The wind was blowing hard that day and I dropped it and the ball almost blew off my foot. I punted it and it went straight to the sideline towards our bench and almost hit (special teams) coach Bruce DeHaven. I looked over there and he’s just laughing. There was nothing you can really do when that happens because you can’t predict when that gust is going to hit you. You’ve got to be careful when those winds start gusting around."'

Marker The Future Is Now [6:27 AM]
BillsDaily.com reports: Make no mistake about it – the Bills are a bad team. I take no joy in making that statement – as a Bills fan it pains me to see the cold hard truth.

Marker Bills vs. Cardinals Preview [6:26 AM]
BillsDaily.com reports: The Bills and Cardinals are two struggling teams but the Cardinals got a big win last week against Seattle. The Bills continue to struggle offensively and will look to Willis McGahee to jump start the offense.

Marker Bills' McGahee says he's starting against Arizona [9:33 PM]
AP reports: 'The Bills were unavailable for comment. Coach Mike Mularkey is expected to update any lineup changes during his weekly news conference on Wednesday.'

Marker McGahee Says He's Number One [9:32 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'McGahee told Sporting News Radio, "I will be starting this Sunday. I've always said when the opportunity presents itself, I just have to take advantage of it."'

Marker Eric Moulds a True Competitor [4:10 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'I don't know what the problem is in the red zone. It's as if the Bills hit a brick wall once they get an opportunity to put points on the board. I think part of it is their inability to run once they get down there. The red zone rushing attack is non-existent and they need to have more consistency to that aspect of their game. Travis Henry and Willis McGahee are both quality backs and someone is going to have to step it up and get the ball into the end zone.'

Marker Offense still causing problems in Buffalo [12:19 PM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Turnovers are a part of the game, but where the turnovers occurred killed the Bills time and again on Sunday. The Bills were inside the Ravens' 20-yard line four times and couldn't get into the end zone.'

Marker HS Football "Coach of the Week" - Week 8 [12:17 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Coach Eric Jantzi of North Tonawanda High School has been named the Buffalo Bills high school football “Coach of the Week” for the eighth weekend of the 2004 season (October 23-24).'

Marker Healthy attitudes [12:17 PM]
Buffalo News reports: '"A lot of these kids are looking for role models," the physical education teacher said. "When a Buffalo Bill comes to school and tells them to eat right and exercise, it means something to them."'

Marker Moulds sends a message to teammates [12:13 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Yeah, they could win their next two — hosting the Cardinals (2-4) and Jets (5-1) — but at season’s end, this team that appeared to be a playoff contender when it began has a 6-10 look, at best.'

Marker Bills are most feeble inside 20 [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"If we weren't getting down there at all, I'd be going, "Holy cow. We are in some serious trouble,' " Mularkey said. "But the trouble is once we get down there we're not finishing the drives."'

Marker Move to Willis might sell some tickets [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'There's one problem, though. If the Bills make Travis Henry the backup, it'll diminish his trade value. When Tom Donahoe tries to swing a deal before the draft, other general managers will remind him that Henry wasn't even good enough to start for a bad Bills team. It's a classic bind, but it's of Donahoe's making. It kills me to say I told you so, but this is why they should have traded Henry back in August.'

Marker Losman not close to playing again [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"That's what I foresee right now," Mularkey said Monday after team meetings. "We're going to continue with stages of it. He did the seven-on-seven (last week). We'll get him into maybe some team work (this week) that doesn't put him in a position that he may have to scramble or avoid contact, any of those where there's sudden movement that he has not tested. We'll keep bumping that up as he feels."'

Marker Red zone is giving Buffalo the blues [5:06 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'In their six games this season the Bills have driven into the red zone on 16 occasions and have scored just four touchdowns. That 25 percent touchdown rate is last in the NFL.'

Marker How long till Bills' changing of the guard? [5:05 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Leo: The team is 1-5 and spinning its wheels. Something needs to be done. Sal: Spinning its wheels? The engine would have to be running for the Bills to be spinning their wheels.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [5:01 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Bledsoe can be blamed for three of Buffalo's four failed red zone opportunities.'

Marker Notes, quotes [5:00 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'LT Jonas Jennings' bad ankle forced him to miss his second straight game. He's expected to try and practice on Wednesday when full preparations for the Arizona Cardinals begin. Jennings has been injury prone each of his four NFL seasons and he had hoped to shake that label heading into free agency but it hasn't happened.'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Mike Mularkey [4:59 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'We have not stopped fighting for the playoffs. There is a lot of football left, as we've got 10 ballgames to go and our number one objective is still the playoffs.'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Tom Donahoe [4:58 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Our coaches currently feel that our best chance to win is with Drew Bledsoe and even though our entire offense struggled in the Baltimore game, Drew has played good football for us this year up until yesterday's game.'

Marker Drew's Bills days are numbered [4:57 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'Not that it really matters if rookie qb J.P. Losman can practice or play right now, which he can’t, because he won’t. Still, his day is coming much sooner than I’d ever have thought possible at the start of this season.'

Marker Jennings Is Improving [4:56 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'J.P. Losman will start to take part in team drills that don't require him to scramble. Mularkey thinks his rookie quarterback is realistically two or three weeks away. The Bills head coach refused to speculate if Losman will replace Drew Bledsoe when he's healthy.'

Marker Bledsoe's blunders butcher Buffalo [4:50 AM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'In this particular version, Bledsoe moves the Bills achingly close to a touchdown that would at least make things interesting, only to see all his most important throws end up in the hands of someone wearing purple.'

Marker No More Mularkey on McGahee [10:07 PM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'You have to show your team you have the ability to make those key decisions if you want to lead. Mularkey has not done that. Key decisions are not cutting Bobby Shaw. That’s not a statement or a tough move; it’s just a token that’s supposed to set an example. The problem is not all on Mularkey. He’s a rookie coach who is feeling his way through the process of learning how to lead his players and make those decisions. Now he's got exactly the same record Gregg Williams had through his first six games, and in 2001 Williams had far less talent.'

Marker Bledsoe's days are numbered [10:02 PM]
Tonawanda News reports: 'Let’s face it — this year’s version of the Bills is going nowhere. Sure, they may still be mathematically alive, but those are about the only good numbers for the Buffalo offense. The Bills rank near the bottom of the league in nearly all offensive categories, and those rankings won’t improve following Sunday’s loss. But Losman isn’t the answer — at least not yet. With the Buffalo offensive line as porous as it is right now, the last thing the Bills want is to expose Losman to the fierce pass rushes and blitzes he would experience every week. Losman needs to get more reps in practice before the Bills should put him in as the starter.'

Marker Inept offense dragging down Bills [9:37 PM]
AP reports: 'Mularkey was hired in part because of the expertise and creative game-planning he displayed in three seasons as Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator. He refuses to be drawn into comparisons to last year. ``I'm not going to go there,'' he said. ``If anything goes wrong this year, then I'm the guy to hang the hat on.'''

Marker Game Notes: Bills. vs. Ravens [3:27 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Lawyer Milloy: In his first action of the season, tied Takeo Spikes for the team lead with 12 tackles (nine solo).'

Marker The stuff of nightmares [1:06 PM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills have scored eight first-quarter points in their last 10 road games - two field goals and a safety.'
