Marker Field Position Always a Big Factor [4:17 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'I don't know what got into Sam Adams, but that was the best game I have ever seen him play. He looked like a man amongst boys out there. He was all over the field making plays, stuffing the run and getting to the quarterback. He did a great job of anticipating the snap count. It seemed as if he was always the first person to fire off the ball. He showed how dominant he can be in this league and I expect his play to continue throughout the rest of the season.'

Marker Help McGee Earn Play of the Week Honors [12:24 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Voting is open to the fans each week from Tuesday at Noon ET until Thursday at Noon ET, exclusively on NFL.com.'

Marker It’s time to give Bills some credit [12:22 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Even though Buffalo has won two of its last three games, the Bills still have to prove they can win on the road. Yet, if the running game is here to stay, at least the offense will be more interesting.'

Marker HS Football "Coach of the Week" - Week 9 [10:35 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Coach Frank Payne of Iroquois Central School has been named the Buffalo Bills high school football “Coach of the Week” for the ninth weekend of the 2004 season (October 29-30).'

Marker April sings Moorman’s praises [9:01 AM]
Lockport Union Sun and Journal reports: '“You have guys punting who aren’t real pros. They’re like the guys who win the punt, pass and kick contest. They do just one thing,” April said. “Brian has a real concern as to how his punts affect the football team. He does the things that help our team win. He has a football instinct.”'

Marker Adams sparks Bills' defense [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"A lot of people think I guess (on the snap), but I watch the ball," said Adams, who finished with six tackles and created opportunities for others to make plays. "That's one of my blessings as a football player. I have good reaction. I'm explosive."'

Marker Knee injury may sideline Reed for Jets game [8:50 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I'm thinking that way just because of how he felt (Sunday) after the game," Mularkey said. "I know he was pretty sore walking around."'

Marker Mularkey praises special teams [5:04 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I've probably done a poor job of emphasizing how well the special teams have played all year and what a huge factor they are," Mularkey said. He probably won't be guilty of too many future oversights if the Bills' kicking game units keep playing the way they did against the Cardinals.'

Marker Bills actually have a shot at beating the Jets [5:04 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'I'm not ready to anoint Buffalo a playoff contender on the basis of its 38-14 romp over hapless Arizona, but beating a good Jets team would catapult the Bills out of the NFL's dungeon and it could be the kind of victory that turns their season around.'

Marker Inside slant [5:03 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Moorman averaged 44.1 yards on seven punts, six of them into a 20-30 mph wind that was gusting to 40 mph. Despite Buffalo's offense starting seven drives against the wind and four of them inside its 15-yard line, Buffalo's defense was never put in overwhelmingly bad field position because of Moorman's leg. Of those six punts into the wind, four traveled more than 40 yards with no return. "He absolutely controlled the field position," said coach Mike Mularkey, who said Moorman may have been the MVP of the game. "How he does it, I have no idea and I'm not going to ask. He's done it in the two games that the weather has been bad here. When you have a weapon like Brian, sometimes punting is not bad on days like this."'

Marker Strategy and personnel [5:03 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'The Bills had a well-crafted game plan on both sides of the ball for the conditions and sent the Cardinals to their 17th consecutive road loss. It was a significant step for Mike Mularkey, who was able to deny veteran peer Dennis Green his 100th coaching win. Coordinator Tom Clements wisely stuck with the run, even with McGahee averaging around 2.0 yards per rush over the final three quarters, protecting a lead while protecting the ball. After scoring four red-zone touchdowns all year, the Bills scored four against Arizona, which had the NFL's No. 1 red zone defense.'

Marker Notes, quotes [5:02 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'The Bills defense is on a serious roll. After holding the Cardinals to 213 yards, Buffalo has gone three consecutive games without allowing its opponent 300 yards offense. The team record is eight games set between Dec. 19, 1999 and Oct. 8, 2000.'

Marker Bills deck the Cards 38 to 14 [4:59 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Four of Buffalo’s 13 possessions began in Arizona territory. “We had such great field position,” Bledsoe said, “we didn’t have to drive the length of the field in adverse conditions. We took the ball over several times in plus (Cardinals) territory and in great scoring position.”'

Marker Cards have a tough time weathering conditions [4:58 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“You just don’t throw the ball well in conditions like this,” Green said. “It’s not going to happen. I don’t think any body can.”'

Marker McGee repays Bills in extra-special way [4:57 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Of his kickoff return for the TD, McGee knew where credit was due. “It’s like a proven point for them to get me in the end zone,” he said of his blockers. “That’s all they talk about is getting me to the Pro Bowl.” And that’s a reasonable goal as he leads the American Football Conference with a 28-yard average.'

Marker Bills finally put up some respectable numbers [4:56 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Defensive tackle Justin Bannan took several snaps at left offensive guard, including on one of Willis McGahee’s touchdown runs. “There were certain plays where we had him designated as part of the personnel package,” said Mularkey. “He’s quick, gets good leverage and is a powerful guy. On some plays we’re looking for that style. From what I saw out there live, I think he did a good job, especially on the touchdown. He’s a very versatile and smart guy. And if he can do a couple of things better than Lawrence (Smith, the starter), then we’ll use him.”'

Marker Thank You Cardinals [9:40 PM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'And of course the biggest key, continues to be the Bills defense, which improved to number one in the AFC, by shutting down the Cards, particularly in the second half.'

Marker Everything clicks in 38-14 Bills victory [9:39 PM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: '"I know one thing," said Arizona quarterback Josh McCown. "I have a newfound respect for Jim Kelly and what he did here. It was the toughest conditions I've ever played in."'

Marker Even at 35, Emmitt is still Emmitt [9:38 PM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: 'When Smith went to the podium, he was all class. He praised Bills rookie running back Willis McGahee. He talked about how hard work for McGahee is paying big dividends. He also refused to blame the loss on the elements. "Given the outlook, Troy (Hambrick) and I were prepared to carry the ball 40 times, but it just did not work out that way," said Smith. "Weather is not an excuse. If they travel to Arizona, they play in the heat. They had to play in the same weather today. We just kept shooting ourselves in the foot."'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Mike Mularkey [5:30 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Does you team read the paper and react to the negative media? I mean, you guys WON and there is an article in the paper of how it was "too ugly." What do you do to combat this attention or are you so used to playing you own game?
MM: I'm sure they probably read the paper more than we do as coaches because they have more time than we do. I warn them about being influenced by things that they hear or read by people that don't understand the game as well as the people inside our building.'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Tom Donahoe [5:29 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'With Bannan in on the o-line, does that mean that you will be paying closer attention to it in future drafts and free agency?
TD: We have paid close attention to the offensive line every year and we will continue to do the same every year forward. The offensive line may be the hardest position to play in football and you're always trying to find talented players who can succeed there. With regard to Justin Bannan, his play yesterday is a great credit to his versatility and his athletic ability. That he could play on the offensive line and that he would want to do this says a lot about him as a player. It's something that we are taking a look at and we are very much in the infant stages of working with Justin on this. It will certainly add to his versatility and the team's versatility.'

Marker New Faces Find End Zone [5:28 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '"That was our main goal right there, move the ball and get it into the end zone on a rushing touchdown," McGahee said. "That's what we worked on. The o-line knew what they had to do and I knew what I had to do. We got it done."'

Marker Game Notes: Bills vs. Cardinals [5:28 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Terrence McGee: Became only the third player in Bills history with two kickoff returns for touchdown in one season when he posted an 87-yard return touchdown vs. the Cardinals (Charley Warner, 1965 and Wallace Francis, 1973).

Marker Bills win in blowout [5:27 PM]
Niagara Gazette reports: '“It was a great game,” said Ben Sorenson, the spokesman for the Order of Canadian Football Loving Nuns, who were well-covered for the weather. “The polyester is quite waterproof, oddly enough. It’s about time the Bills started winning, and to seek God on their side."'

Marker Bills fear WR Reed might miss next weekend's game against Jets [4:16 PM]
AP reports: 'The injury left Buffalo with only three receivers, but Mularkey said fifth-stringer Drew Haddad could play against the Jets after missing Sunday's game with a hamstring injury.'

Marker Buffalo rolls to invisible victory [2:05 PM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'You have to wonder, though, what Henry might have done if the new coaching staff or their predecessors had ever shown the sort of commitment to him that McGahee received yesterday, or in Buffalo's other victory this year, against Miami. Barring injury, it looks like we'll never know.'

Marker Tough times abound for sports fans while Bills bumble and Sabres sit [2:04 PM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'The Buffalo Bills -- by any measure, be it wins and losses, aesthetic appeal or excitement generated -- stink. Worse yet, they're not even likable losers.'

Marker Return ticket [8:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"At that point in the game, they had just scored (to pull within 10-7)," said Bills quarterback Drew Bledsoe. "We were going to have to drive the ball into the wind, which was very, very difficult. To take that kickoff and return it for a touchdown at that point was huge, and maybe the pivotal point in the game."'

Marker Bills view themselves as a team on the rise [8:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"The same way people used to look at us when I was with Cincinnati, that's the way I looked at it (Sunday)," Spikes said. "I didn't care who it is. I didn't care if it was Vince Lombardi coaching. Our attitude was, "Hey, we've got to find a way to come up with the win. Point blank, period. Let's get it done.' "'
