Marker Bills' Harvin expects to be himself again [1:49 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'In Harvin’s last two seasons in Minnesota he had 71 and 87 catches. Between the Vikings and Seahawks had caught 63 balls, but production has fallen since. Between the Jets and Seahawks last year he had 51 receptions for 483 yards. In his first three seasons he had 17 touchdowns and only four since. Harvin’s confident he can get back to where he was earlier in his career, “I will without a shadow of a doubt. The last couple of years for whatever reason it just felt like I never could get settled in or get my role solidified, but here I’ve been here since day one in the program and everything’s new so I’m able to come in and establish myself.”'

Marker Woods an example of Bills recent 2nd-round success [1:48 AM] reports: '“My agent told me I had a slight, slight chance to be taken at the end of the first round,” Woods recalled. “The Texans took DeAndre Hopkins and I was looking at the draft and I saw a lot of big guys going, so I knew that wasn’t good for me.”'

Marker Duke Williams the early favorite at strong safety [1:47 AM] reports: '“Searcy was an outstanding player, there’s no doubt about that,” said Bills head coach Rex Ryan. “But we feel pretty good about Duke (Williams). And really some other guys. (Jonathan) Meeks was coming on and got hurt, so we’ll see. There’s going to be some opportunities for other guys. Clearly, that’s going to be a spot where when you lose a starter, the next man steps up. I think with Duke Williams in particular, we’re excited to see what he can do.”'

Marker Ryan willing to defer to draft experts [5:41 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: '“Buffalo Bills ... guys that are passionate, love to play the game, and will fit right back in with what we already have here,” he said. “That’s going to be the critical part of it and talent? To target a specific position? We’re not doing that. I think we’ll do a great job ... I really believe in the scouting department. I think our guys have lined it up ... (they’ve) included the coaches so I don’t think we’ll be surprised. I know where the board’s lining up for us. Whatever presents itself, Doug and our crew will be ready.”'

Marker Success can be found from No. 50 spot [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I went out and looked at the second- and third-round guys as starters,” Fisher said. “I don’t look at second- and third-round guys as backup players. My whole philosophy when I’m out looking at guys is, I’m trying to reload our team, not rebuild.”'

Marker Draft may not provide much excitement for Bills [1:58 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I get where the question's coming from, but this is going to be … no draft is non-important," said coach Rex Ryan on the eve of his first draft with Buffalo. "(Not) impactful on how many starters we get out of a draft? I can see where that's coming from. We have a deep roster already, so for a guy to have immediate impact as a starter, it might be difficult. Am I saying it's impossible? No. It depends on how the draft falls."'

Marker Rex Ryan says Jerry Hughes is ruining Buffalo Bills' practice, and 5 notes from voluntary minic [1:57 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Hughes, who signed a five-year, $45 million contract extension this offseason, already has Bills coach Rex Ryan excited about what he can do. Ryan estimated that Hughes had five or six sacks before he had to pull him from practice to let the offense get some work in.'

Marker History suggests offseason spending is risky, can the Bills be the exception? [1:56 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'If there is one thing going for the Bills’ acquisitions, it is that they are not reflective of the 2000 Washington team that signed ancient stars, hoping to squeeze whatever was left out of Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders. LeSean McCoy hasn’t reached the age of the running back wall at 26, Clay and Harvin are also 26 years old, putting them in the center of their prime for receivers and tight ends.'

Marker The Bills QB's are comfortable with the competition [1:55 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Many quarterbacks don’t want to be known as runners. Taylor can flat out fly and he said, “It’s a plus, maybe guys don’t know about the throwing ability, but that’s something to prove and that’s a challenge I take on. If it’s about throwing, I can throw with anyone, so I look forward to show my arm off, but running is a plus because in this league the defenses are getting faster and you have to be able to string the play out, so whatever you have to do.”'

Marker O-line taking measured approach toward best fits [1:54 AM] reports: '“It’s a case where I want to get my hands on these guys and get out on the grass with them and get a feel for how they learn and how they pick up the things I’m going to teach them,” said Kromer. “I want to make sure that I get a feel for them on how we want to coach them and see what they can do from there. We have a talented room.”'

Marker Bills need to be ready for anything as Draft Day unfolds [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“As a general manager, you’ve got to create a sense of urgency among your scouts because there’s the human tendency to say, ‘Ah, we won’t get that guy and we won’t get that guy,’ ” Polian said. “You never know what’s going to happen, and you always want that information in the files anyway in case that guy should become free at another point. Then, the approach during Draft Day is to stay on top of things. You’ve got to make sure that no opportunity to move up or even move back is overlooked. You’ve got to make sure that you cover every base.'

Marker Was trading up for Sammy Watkins worth it? What the numbers & some pundits say [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'While Beckham has become the standard to which Watkins will be held, Tampa Bay’s Mike Evans and Carolina’s Kelvin Benjamin had more catches, yards and touchdowns. Philadelphia’s Jordan Matthews, a second-round pick, had more catches and touchdowns, while fellow second-rounder Jarvis Landry had more receptions.'

Marker Bills’ draft spot better than a 50-50 proposition [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“I don’t look at second- and third- round guys as backup players,” said Kelvin Fisher, the Bills’ director of college scouting. “The history that I’ve been in this business, they all end up playing, and some of them end up being great starters.'

Marker NFL seeks to be dropped from Jills wage lawsuit [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Cooney said Ferrari and the other former Jills didn’t include the NFL in the suit initially because they didn’t learn of Goodell’s signing and approval of the contracts and the provision requiring the Jills to sign the cheerleading agreement until the Bills included copies of the contracts in the team’s unsuccessful bid to have itself dismissed as a defendant.'

Marker It may be early, but Bills QB competition has begun [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '"I thought it started when we all got back," said Manuel, who watched the Bills trade for Cassel and sign Taylor in free agency, a warning sign that he was about to enter the battle of his football life. "Even in the film room trying to grasp the offense, it's like a race to see who knows it the best and you want to know it the way (offensive coordinator Greg) Roman does."'

Marker Rex Ryan says nobody knows who will win three-man Buffalo Bills QB competition [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: '"I thought it started when we all got back two weeks ago or three weeks ago," Manuel said. "Even in the film room and trying to grasp the offense because it's like a race to see who knows it the best. Obviously you want to know it just like coach (Greg) Roman does."'

Marker Buffalo Bills exercise fifth-year option on CB Stephon Gilmore [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'After an injury riddled 2013 season, Gilmore emerged as the best player in Buffalo's secondary in 2014. He intercepted three passes and allowed 61 percent of the passes thrown his way to be caught, according to Pro Football Focus.'

Marker Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley reportedly visits Baylor QB Bryce Petty [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post-Standard reports: 'Buffalo is obviously in need of a quarterback, and with pick No. 50 being their first selection in the draft, players like Petty are all that will be left. Petty, who turns 24 in May, was one of the most productive quarterbacks in college football over the last few seasons, but he has a few red flags that make him a risky option on day two. He played in a one-read offense and hasn't shown he can make plays when the first read breaks down.'

Marker Jets TE Jace Amaro responds to Rex Ryan’s continuous jabs [1:51 AM]
New York Post reports: '“To be honest with you, I really wasn’t worried about it,” Amaro said. “I had no intention of attacking anybody, especially Rex. I have the utmost respect for the guy. He gave me a chance to play in this league before anybody else. That’s an everlasting thank you to him.”'

Marker Jets' Jace Amaro on Buffalo Bills' Rex Ryan ripping him: 'That's the way he is, [1:50 AM]
Newark Star Ledger reports: '"I guess it's just one of those things," Amaro said Tuesday, as the Jets opened a three-day voluntary minicamp. "I'm not really sure what you want me to say. That's the way he is, I guess. I didn't take it as any insult. I really didn't even look at any of them [Ryan's comments], besides the first one. I'm just worried about this team and what we have to do now.'

Marker What similarities does Ryan Fitzpatrick see in Chan Gailey's Jets offense, to Buffalo Bills [1:49 AM]
Newark Star Ledger reports: 'Gailey used a spread offense in Buffalo, and while it looks like he'll employ something very similar with the Jets, it's too early to determine exactly what the offense will look like.'

Marker Jets tight end: No issues with Rex Ryan [1:48 AM]
Bergen Record reports: '"I had no intention of attacking anybody, especially Rex," Amaro said Tuesday during the first day of voluntary minicamp. "I have the utmost respect for the guy. He gave me a chance to play in this league before anyone else, so that’s an everlasting thank you to him."'

Marker Bills pick up 5th-year option on Stephon Gilmore's contract [1:47 AM]
AP reports: 'Gilmore has been a three-year starter in Buffalo since being selected with the 10th pick in the 2012 draft out of South Carolina. He had a career-best three interceptions last season.'

Marker Jets' Amaro not bothered by Rex Ryan's criticisms [1:46 AM]
AP reports: 'Amaro took the high road when asked if he's looking forward to the two games against the Bills — in Week 10 at home and Week 17 at Buffalo — because Ryan is apparently planning to make sure the tight end is not a factor for the Jets.'

Marker Bills pick up option on Gilmore [1:45 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Gilmore, the 10th overall pick of the 2012 draft, has been a key part of a Buffalo defense that permitted a league-low 16 passing touchdowns and allowed the third-fewest yards through the air last season.'

Marker Bills exercise Gilmore's option [1:44 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'The sides can continue to work on a potential long-term deal.'

Marker Bills' Ryan seemed to really enjoy getting his team on the field [1:43 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'We all want to know who the starting quarterback is going to be against Indianapolis or maybe we want to know who’s the front runner. Ryan just isn’t going to give up that information right now, “All the guys and you can throw Tuel in there, but I’m being realistic, the three top guys in my opinion, you don’t know how it’s going to shake out. We might predict this or predict that and if you polled everybody, there’s nobody that’s going to be lined up exactly, so let’s let it shake out. I feel good about the three guys, but by the time we end it, there’ll be a clear guy at number one.”'

Marker Bills exercise 5th-year option on Gilmore [1:42 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The option being picked up means the cornerback will be guaranteed just north of $11 million once the 2016 league year begins. The team and Gilmore can also negotiate a long-term agreement to keep him in Buffalo. With players like Marcell Dareus, Nigel Bradham, and Cordy Glenn all entering the final year of their deals, that would be the ideal situation for the Bills to keep Gilmore and lower his cap number to free up money to sign others.'

Marker Report: Bills GM Doug Whaley to visit Bryce Petty [1:41 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Petty threw for 3,855 yards with 29 touchdown passes and five rushing touchdowns. Petty and the Baylor Bears lost the Goodyear Cotton Bowl 42-41 to Michigan State. Petty had 550 yards and three touchdown passes in that contest.'

Marker QB rotation begins at veteran minicamp [1:40 AM] reports: '“They all got reps,” said Ryan. “(Jeff) Tuel is probably the only one, he probably got a little bit shortchanged, but he did get a number of reps as well. But the top three were getting the exact same number of reps. Jeff (Tuel), he got plenty of reps, but it wasn’t the exact number those guys had.'
