Marker Joe B: 5 takeaways from Buffalo Bills practice (9/20/17) [1:19 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'The defensive tackle did not practice on Wednesday and sported a big brace to support his right ankle while doing some work on the side with the training staff. Considering the potential matchup against the Broncos, this is a tough game to lose Dareus for. One of the weaknesses of the Broncos offense is along the offensive line — specifically at left guard. It’s certainly been a disappointing start to the 2017 season for the Bills with Dareus.'

Marker Bills not worried about criticism heading into showdown with Broncos [1:18 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: '“(Carolina) made plays last week and we didn’t,” McCoy added. “Simple as that. It is a different scheme but I do not think it makes that big of a difference. We have been doing this since camp and we know what to do, what not to do.”'

Marker Zay Jones ready for “next opportunity” [1:17 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: '“I think everyone’s seeing I’m back to myself and having fun again. I’m enjoying football again. It sucks at what happened, but it happened. It’s over and I’m learning from it, I’m growing, I’m developing. I’m a rookie, but no excuses. You have to keep moving forward.”'

Marker McDermott concerned with injury to DT Marcell Dareus [1:16 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'If Glenn is unable to play on Sunday and with Seantrel Henderson still serving his five game suspension, rookie Dion Dawkins could be thrust into the starting lineup against one of the most potent pass rushers in the league, Von Miller.'

Marker Buffalo Bills ranked as least valuable franchise in NFL by Forbes [1:15 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'The Bills rank #32 out of 32 on the list, released Monday. Forbes puts the team’s value at $1.6 billion.

Marker Top 6 storylines for Bills-Broncos this week [1:14 AM] reports: '“We’re looking at everything,” McDermott said Monday. “Some of the deep shots we had up, called up down the field didn’t work out the way we wanted them to.” That may indicate that McDermott and the Bills are focused this week on firing the ball downfield, looking to hit some big plays, or at least loosen things up for the run game.'

Marker Quick Hits: Dareus and Glenn both sidelined for practice [1:13 AM] reports: '“I am concerned, but it’s day-to-day at this point. He’s got an ankle (injury) right now,” said McDermott of Dareus. “He’s not going to practice today and we’ll know a little bit more going forward. But we have to make sure we have a contingency plan in place.”'

Marker Bills sign S Robert Blanton and DT Deandre Coleman [1:12 AM] reports: '“[He’s] a really good story, a guy who has really bought into the message that Mike Waufle is delivering in that defensive line room and what we’re trying to get across from a defensive standpoint,” said Frazier earlier this month. “The energy he played with, the fact that he attacked the weight issues the way he did, and his attitude. He’s been terrific in that way and we saw tremendous improvement on the field.”'

Marker Bills Today: Strong defensive performances not enough for Frazier [1:11 AM] reports: '“You’re in it to win it, and when we don’t win, there’s not a whole lot you can get excited about in our business. It’s all about winning the games, that’s what we work so hard for, going all the way back to the offseason program… If we have a poor performance and we win, that’s a happy locker room. It’s all about winning,” Frazier said.'

Marker The Buck Stops Here: Bills managing just fine without Stephon Gilmore [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'It's not to suggest Gilmore has been terrible, although he did get smoked for a touchdown in his debut. The bigger point is the Bills made little effort to keep him, rebuilt their secondary and have been fine without him. A trouble spot with four new players going into the season, the defensive backfield has been their strength.'

Marker Yarbrough credits camp with Broncos for helping to make him good enough to join Bills [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I always feel like I can defy the odds," Yarbrough says. "So, going into it, even though I saw I had pretty much two confirmed Hall-of-Famers at my position, DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller, I was like, 'Hey, I can play. I can play with these guys.' And just go and try to be a sponge and absorb as much as I possibly can from them and also elevate my game to earn a roster spot and position on that team."'

Buffalo News reports: 'With Kawann Short, Star Lotulelei, Mario Addison, and even the veteran Julius Peppers on the defensive line, along with a trio of tremendous, fast linebackers behind them – Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis and Shaq Thompson – Carolina boasts one of the best run-stopping front sevens in all of football. It clearly overwhelmed what Buffalo tried to do on the ground all afternoon.'

Marker Buffalo Bills schedule: From frying pan into the fire this week [1:49 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: ' “Well, they’re a talented group obviously,’’ he said of Denver’s defense that again ranks No. 4 overall, including third against the run and 14th in points allowed. “They rush the pass very well and they’ve got great DBs, they all have great ball skills. Put the ball around them, they think it’s theirs, so you’ve got to be careful. Like any other defense, they’re loaded with talent. We have our work cut out for us, but just like we did last week, we’ll find a way to move the ball.’’'

Marker Buffalo Bills release safety Trae Elston, linebacker Jelani Jenkins [1:48 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'The Bills also reportedly worked out punters Matt Darr, Taylor Symmank, Matt Wile and long snapper Derek Hart. But Sean McDermott didn't exactly sound like someone ready to sign a punter when he heaped praise on Colton Schmidt Monday.'

Marker Joe B: Buffalo Bills All-22 Review vs. Carolina Panthers (9/19/17) [1:42 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Oh, what a game it was for Jerry Hughes. He’s back home in the defense that best suits him and he’s clearly having a lot of fun doing it. Coming into the game, it seemed like a huge opportunity against a poor left tackle for Hughes to dominate — and guess what? He did just that. Hughes came away with two sacks, but his game was so much more than that. He was sound against the run on the edge, he forced Cam Newton to hurry up his reads in the pocket multiple times, and he probably could have come away with four sacks against Carolina. The Panthers had no answer for him all game long.'
