Marker Bills Sign OL Mike Gandy [5:02 PM] reports: 'The 26-year-old Gandy has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Chicago Bears and has appeared in 32 games, starting 30 over the course of his career.'

Marker Transcript: Quarterback J.P. Losman [1:22 PM] reports: 'Q: Why will the offense evolve with you in it and what do you have to say about getting down?
A: I guess the offense is going to change. I don't know how much yet. I haven't spent much time with the coaches with them telling me exactly what we're going to do. I'm sure there will be some rollouts and they will use my mobility a little bit. As far as getting down, I have to hear it from my teammates everyday. In the locker room they are always whispering in my ear 'get down'. I think Spikes is the biggest one. I realized that I'm going to hurt my team more by not sliding than sliding. I really don't like to do it, but it's something I'm going to learn how to do in order to help our team win.'

Marker Advice from the pros [1:19 PM]
Reading Eagle reports: 'Tucker encouraged the mostly pre-teen audience members to be as equally determined to succeed in whatever dream they hold. If they do, he said, they will resist the lures of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. “Go for goals, because with those you are less likely to fall by the wayside,” he said.'

Marker Losman embraces leadership role [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"No one knows, obviously, what's going to happen," Losman admitted. "I can sit here and say what I think, but it's all just hearsay. The season will start soon enough, and people will find out."'

Marker The Kid feels no pressure [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'I think I know what he's thinking. I think you know what he's thinking. The Kid believes he's a winner. So far, so good.'

Rochester D&C reports: '"I'm fortunate and feeling excited. The people upstairs made the decision and I just need to move forward and go with it."'

Marker Losman stands tall against first blitz [5:01 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Of course, none of this will matter if the second-year pro from Tulane University doesn't prove to be the quarterback the Bills have desperately sought since Jim Kelly's departure nearly a decade ago. The bottom line is wins, not witty quotes.'

Marker Losman Meets Media [10:38 PM] reports: 'However, he did add Bledsoe was very supportive during his rookie season. "I think our relationship was great. He never hesitated to answer a question that I had and actually every time I came off the field he was very supportive. He told me things what I did wrong or what I did right before I even had to ask."'

Marker Jennings Jets West [10:36 PM] reports: 'Selected in the third round of the 2001 draft, the 6'3", 354 lb. Georgia product was the longest serving member of the Bills current offensive line. He started a total of 52 games for Buffalo including 14 starts in 2004.'

Marker Random thoughts from the combine [8:55 PM] reports: The Buffalo Bills are resigned to the fact that their new quarterback, '04 first-round draft pick J.P. Losman, is going to rely very heavily on his considerable mobility.

Marker Notebook: Some sanity, some madness in early free-agency [8:54 PM]
CBS Sportsline reports: The biggest eye-opening deal was the seven years and $36 million the 49ers gave to Buffalo left tackle Jonas Jennings. It included $12 million to $14 million in bonuses, which is amazing considering Jennings is a decent player whose value is up because he happens to be one of the few left tackles available. That had to drive his price up. He certainly isn't worth that kind of money.

"Worst deal I've seen," said one personnel director. "But hold on. I'm sure there's more to follow."

Marker Jennings headed to the 49ers [5:45 PM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Former first-round pick Kwame Harris, who has been a bit of a disappointment at left tackle since joining the league in 2003, will likely shift to the right side to accommodate Jennings.'

Marker Jennings Heads To The West Coast [5:38 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'There were false reports in New York on Tuesday that he was close to going to the Jets, but San Francisco flew him out yesterday and signed him today.'

Marker Losman still has plenty to prove as Bills' starter [5:33 PM]
AP reports: '''They call me cocky,'' he said. ''But I'm just a confident kid who prepares extremely hard, extremely well. And when it comes to football, I know exactly what I want to do.'''

Marker Losman Excited About Opportunity [4:39 PM] reports: '"It's about my mental preparation," said Losman. "When I go out there I've got to know exactly what to do all the time. Once I start doing those things and once the game starts and I transfer that over from practice it's going to be rolling. The guys are going to be supportive and this year is going to be the year where I'm going to need my teammates more than ever. I need them to support me in ways that they might not have to later down the road because I'll be older and much more mature."'

Marker "Comeback Game" DVD Winner #4 [4:39 PM] reports: 'I think my exact quote was "dad, turn this car around."'

Marker Niners begin rebuilding O-line with Jennings [3:14 PM]
AP reports: 'He should provide the 49ers with a significant improvement on their mediocre line, which struggled during San Francisco's 2-14 season. The Niners allowed 52 sacks, and running back Kevan Barlow became frustrated with inadequate run blocking.'

Marker Losman Feels He's Ready To Be The Bills Starter [2:17 PM]
WGR-AM reports: 'He's not at all worried about getting the respect and confidence of his teammates. Losman said, "I'm a confident guy, it's the same old game, it's football." He feels he'll need his teammates more than ever this year as he gets acclimated to the NFL. He said to be respected in the huddle, he has to know what everybody needs to do, not just him. He has to be able to answer all questions on the field with confidence.'

Marker Bills' new QB: 'I would rather have won it' [2:06 PM]
Rochester D & C reports: "If he was going to be the starter in front of me my second year, he would've had to earn it, from my standpoint,'' Losman said today at Ralph Wilson Stadium. "I don't know if I could've beaten him out or if they would allow it to happen, but my mindset was to give him a run for his money.''

Marker Vikings sign former Bill Pat Williams [11:43 AM]
The Sports Network reports: 'The 6-foot-3, 315-pound veteran had just 51 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks this past season.'

Marker Bills rank high in ESPN fan ratings [11:40 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'A surprising No. 1 was Detroit (NBA) with San Antonio (NBA) ranked second. However, eight of the next 13 franchises were from the NFL, including the Bills at No. 15.'

Marker 49ers tackle O-line problem [9:03 AM]
Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports: 'Jennings has quick feet and fared well against speed rushers such as Miami's Jason Taylor and Indianapolis' Dwight Freeney. One knock on him is his durability. He missed two games last season, five in '03, one in '02 and four in '01 with minor injuries.'

Marker 49ers are close to landing Jennings [9:02 AM]
Sacramento Bee reports: 'Jennings and his agent flew to the Bay Area on Wednesday morning and by the end of the day were on the verge of finalizing a long-term deal. Team officials would only say they are "currently in negotiations" with the four-year veteran, but Jennings was seen being dropped off at team headquarters late Wednesday evening, presumably to sign the contract.'

Marker Vikes sign Williams [8:51 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'There's a good chance the Bills will try to replace Williams primarily from within. The Bills invested a third-round draft choice last April in Ohio State product Tim Anderson, a 307-pounder. He was active only four games last season and saw almost no action on defense. However, the Bills were encouraged by his practice play as the season wore on. Their other incumbent option is Ron Edwards, a 320-pounder with four years experience. Edwards saw spot duty in relief of Williams last season and finished with 15 tackles and four sacks.'

Marker 49ers near deal with left tackle Jennings [6:24 AM]
San Francisco Chronicle reports: 'Considered to have a positive locker-room presence, Jennings' durability is one area where he might have a weakness. He missed two games last year, four in 2003, one in '02, and three in '01 with minor injuries.'

Marker Minnesota signs Williams [5:21 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Buffalo offered Williams a three-year deal last summer, but the guaranteed bonus was $2million less than he received from Minnesota. Wright contacted the Bills Wednesday. "It was obvious they weren't going to be a player," Wright said. "We're over being disappointed."'

Marker Williams agrees for 3 years, $13 million [5:20 AM]
Minneapolis Star Tribune reports: 'Williams' contract includes a $6 million guaranteed bonus and a $1.5 million first-year salary, allowing the Vikings to count at least $3.5 million and as much as $7.5 million toward their 2005 salary cap, depending on the final structure of the deal. Entering free agency, the Vikings had nearly $36 million in salary cap space.'
