Marker Preseason Week 2: Five observations from Bills vs. Eagles [1:44 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'Oh boy, quarterback Tyrod Taylor did not look good in the slightest.'

Marker A-State’s Streater making Bills roster push [1:43 AM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: '“I’m pretty happy that he switched me over. It worked out well,” Streater said. “I feel like I still have that physical mentality. I used to like to hit people, and I kind of still do. In the running game I like to run in there and get dirty with the safeties. Playing defense helped me understand coverages a lot more. Now that I’m at wide receiver I can kind of look at the safeties and see what the coverage is before the ball is snapped.”'

Marker Temple's Rod Streater leaves game on cart [1:42 AM]
Philadelphia Daily News reports: 'This time it was Buffalo wide receiver Rod Streater down with teammates huddled around him, Streater in pain after suffering what the Bills said was a foot injury. Streater, 29, from Burlington Township, played for Temple. He is a former Raider, Chief and 49er.'

Marker Bills’ McCoy shows Eagles what running game looks like [1:41 AM]
Delaware County Daily Times reports: '“Right now I’m just trying to get back into the game, knocking off some rust,” McCoy said in the visitors locker room. “This was actually the first time that I got hit in either drills or a game. It was good ... I thought overall we played OK today. I think we’re going to build on it and be ready for Week 1.”'

Marker Harrisburg native LeSean McCoy's return to Philadelphia with Buffalo Bills is 'something s [1:40 AM]
Harrisburg Patriot News reports: '"It's always special to get back to Philly," McCoy said. "This is my home, and the fans and this organization was great to me since I got here when I was 20 years old, so this is always going to be something special for me."'

Marker Breaking down potential tips for LeSean McCoy's 200 cheesesteaks for his Bills teammates [1:39 AM]
CSN Philadelphia reports: 'If McCoy pays the full price of $14.90 for his 200 orders Thursday, the bill will come out to $2,980. If he tips the same percentage he did back in 2014, he will leave an extra $9.66. If he tips a more respectable 20 percent, it would come out to about $600.'

Marker Darby has impressive debut, Eagles beat Bills 20-16 [1:38 AM]
AP reports: '"They were running a lot of routes that looked similar, so I was being patient with everything and cutting them off," Darby said.'

Marker Marshall scores go-ahead TD in Eagles' win over Bills [1:37 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'The Bills were hurt severely by penalties all game long and they had a whopping 13 for 91 yards after the third quarter alone and a total of 15 for 131 yards.'

Marker Bills struggle offensively, lose to Eagles [1:36 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The Bills offense struggled from the start, with Tyrod Taylor throwing two interceptions in the first four drives of the game. The team, as a whole, also took too many penalties, accounting for 15 flags for 131 yards.'

Marker Bills-Eagles: Arrow Up/Arrow Down [1:35 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'There’s no getting around, hiding, or excusing how poorly the Bills starting quarterback played. He missed throws, had others batted, and was sacked and intercepted multiple times each. It wasn’t a good night at all for Taylor and, subsequently, the starting offense. Taylor’s final stat line: 8-for-18 (44%) for 53 yards, no TDs, and two interceptions. His finished with a QB rating of 12.'

Marker Bills fall to Eagles 20-16, penalties remain huge concern [1:34 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'Nathan Peterman, getting his chance to play with the 2nd team offense, picked up where he left off last week. He finished 10-of-20 with 167 yards.'

Marker Joe B: 7 observations from Bills - Eagles (8/17/17) [1:33 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'They’re asking Taylor to be quite a pocket passer, and that hasn’t been a strength over his two years of starting, so we’ll see fairly quickly into the regular season if this continues as to whether he’s going to sink or swim with offensive coordinator Rick Dennison.'

Marker Eagles score last in 20-16 win over Bills [1:32 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'But Mabin committed a pass interference call on the ensuing Eagles possession in the end zone gave Philadelphia the win as Byron Marshall scored from a yard out with three minutes left to lift the Eagles to a 20-16 win.'

Marker Top 3 things we learned from Bills-Eagles [1:31 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Running the second team offense, Nate Peterman came on in the latter stages of the first half and put together a field goal drive at the end of the second quarter. With 47 seconds on the clock, Peterman went just 3-6 passing on the drive, but showed great touch on a 22-yard completion to Zay Jones along the left sideline dropping it over the cornerback’s head where only Jones could make a play on it.'

Marker Five players to watch [1:30 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Boldin did not dress for the preseason opener and a lot has changed since last Thursday. Sammy Watkins was traded, Jordan Matthews was added, but he’s not expected to play. Boldin must begin to establish on field chemistry with Tyrod Taylor knowing right now he’s probably the quarterback’s most trusted receiver.'

Marker Bills Today: Hyde ready to lead defense [1:29 AM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: '“It may be on the field, it may be off the field,” said Hyde. “It might be something as simple as where to eat at while at away games. I try to help these guys, especially the young guys, like Tre’ White. He’s going to be playing a lot, so I wanted to let him know how it’s going to be, and what he should expect. You know, just try to share my knowledge that way.”'

Marker Pregame primer: Everything you need to know for Bills-Eagles, plus five things we're watching f [3:20 PM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Who steps up at right cornerback? Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier declared it an "open competition" for Ronald Darby's vacated spot in the secondary. With veteran Leonard Johnson looking locked in as the slot cornerback and rookie first-round draft pick Tre'Davious White on the left side, that leaves Kevon Seymour, veteran Shareece Wright and newcomer E.J. Gaines as the most likely candidates to replace Darby. Seymour is questionable for the game with a foot injury, but will surely be campaigning to play. He doesn't want to risk falling behind if the other two turn in good performances.'

Marker Preseason Week 2: 5 things to watch for during Bills vs. Eagles [3:19 PM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'Rumor has the Bills looking to find their franchise quarterback during the 2018 NFL Draft. But hold up, Nathan Peterman is currently rising up the depth charts. The fifth-round rookie has taken second-team reps following a strong performance against the Minnesota Vikings last week. Peterman nearly completed a 14-point comeback but a dropped pass buried that. Peterman hasn’t been completely consistent during practices, but veteran TJ Yates, who Peterman passed on the depth chart, has not looked consistent either. But against Minnesota, Yates simply did not look good. Will the rookie lock down QB2 or is there some life left in the vet? ... Oh yeah, Tyrod Taylor will start too... but we knew that, people.'

Marker McDermott's return to Philadelphia all about business [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"You guys are getting to know me well enough now that I’m more focused on our team," McDermott said to reporters Tuesday, the Bills' final day of camp. "I want us to go out and perform the way I expect us to perform."'

Marker Vic Carucci's 3 Bills thoughts: Trade aftermath, Peterman's shot & Dawkins' retur [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Peterman was mostly impressive through training camp and in last week's preseason-opener against the Minnesota Vikings. But entering the Vikings' game as a third-stringer, he was able to take advantage of mostly bottom-of-the-roster defenders. Things will be drastically different against the Eagles, whose second-string defenders (and perhaps even some starters) will provide a greater challenge.'

Marker Vic Carucci's Bills camp superlatives: McCoy, Peterman & Yarbrough sparkle [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Yarbrough spent the majority of the practices in the offensive backfield. He was ultra-quick off the ball and showed excellent moves and superb use of his hands. Yarbrough took full advantage of the opportunity he had to work with the ones while starting end Shaq Lawson was injured. There seems little doubt he has secured a spot on the roster, as well as a regular spot in pass-rush packages.'

Marker Jerry Sullivan's Power Take: In old QB debate, Rob Johnson still a loser [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Johnson fails to mention that he was perhaps the most frequently sacked QB in NFL history. I dare you to find a QB who took sacks more often than Rob's 17 per 100 passes. That's why Wade Phillips kicked a field goal on first down in the Music City Miracle, leaving time for a kickoff. He was afraid Rob would get sacked.'

Marker Sean McDermott TV show premieres Sept. 10 [1:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"The Sean McDermott Show" will be simulcast at 11 a.m. Sunday on WKBW-TV (Channel 7) and MSG WNY.'

Marker Bills coach Sean McDermott not interested in Philly homecoming, just team improvement [1:54 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Sure, his wife and two children, his parents, and his brother and his family will be at the game, but outside of some hugs and kisses and small talk, this is a business trip for McDermott and the mission is crystal clear.'

Marker Rookie Dion Dawkins battles for starting role on Buffalo Bills' offensive line [1:53 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“We’ve got some depth at that position, which is nice to have and critical to have at that position," said McDermott. "Dion would potentially move over if we got that far. At this point and time, we’re not going to do that; we want him to get comfortable at the right (tackle) position. But we do need to have a contingency plan in place and we feel like the reps that Dion has built up over the spring should serve him well if needed."'

Marker Why ECU coach thinks Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones will make an instant impact [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Montgomery only coached Jones for his final season at ECU, but he saw enough to know Jones should hit the ground running in the NFL. Jones learned five wide receiver positions as a senior for the Pirates. It was a necessity for ECU given their shortcomings at the position, but Montgomery also considered it necessary for Jones to transition to the NFL. He needed to play more than just the slot, so he had him learn both outside positions in the offense. Then the other two slot positions.'

Marker How ECU strength coach helped Buffalo Bills WR Zay Jones transform his body [1:51 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"Four things that I require from an intangible standpoint: Accountability, work ethic, discipline and spirit," Connors said. "Zay's always been at the highest level of all four of those categories. I believe those are the things that get you to the next level. Those are the things scouts have asked me about for 25 years. Always accountable. Never late, never missed anything. Always 100 percent effort. Not 98. No matter what you do, he always knew one speed.'

Marker Buffalo Bills vs. Philadelphia Eagles: 7 things to watch in second preseason game [1:50 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'The players expected to be the Bills' No. 1 wide receiver and top cornerback in 2017 are gone after two trades last week. Will the losses of Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby affect the team's play on offense and defense? Watkins was targeted early and often against the Vikings and the team may be rolling out a few players across from Tre'Davious White. How the team responds in their first game since the trades is something to watch on Thursday night.'

Marker NFL.com proposes Buffalo Bills trade Reggie Ragland to Kansas City Chiefs [1:49 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"Hand-picked by Rex Ryan, Ragland was identified as an ideal fit for the ex-Buffalo coach's 3-4 scheme. In Sean McDermott's 4-3 operation, though, the hard-hitting Alabama star has failed to click, riding with the third-team defense in recent days. Ragland's rookie season was washed away by a knee injury, but the 2016 second-rounder is filled with promise as an old-school, aggressive defender who fearlessly seeks out ball carriers. I'd love to see him grow in Kansas City, where the team could use an understudy to Derrick Johnson, who turns 35 this November. Few teams do a better job of developing young defenders -- the kind of attention Ragland desperately needs."'

Marker Many Eagles-Bills connections entering second preseason game [1:48 AM]
Philadelphia Inquirer reports: 'It would be more notable if Matthews was playing. Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is Matthews’ close friend who drove the wide receiver to the airport Friday to catch a flight to Buffalo. He said after the trade that it’s “going to be really weird” and “is not going to be fun” to see Matthews come out of the visitors’ tunnel at Lincoln Financial Field. Matthews’ injury means Wentz won’t see him in a different jersey.'
