We all want to be the best. That's why I put in the work in the offseason. So I come in with a chip on my shoulder."'

Marker Bills' Wood feeling 'close to a hundred percent' in return from broken leg [1:58 AM]

Marker Jerry Sullivan: Doug Whaley left some dubious 'gifts' behind [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Maybe someone should have asked him about the gift of tight end Charles Clay, one of many huge contracts that were handed out during Whaley's time and continue to bloat the Bills' salary structure. I've done that. This is like home to me."'

Marker 5 observations from the Buffalo Bills OTAs on Thursday [1:51 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'Not a good outlook for Cardale: The Bills second-year QB shuffled in-and-out of second-team reps with TJ Yates last week, but Yates was the clear-cut second-stringer on Thursday. Jones missed receivers multiple times during team drills, but did score a touchdown during two-minute drill work. Yates didn’t do anything spectacular, but didn’t stand out in a bad way either.'

Marker Key OTA Battle: Bills hope WR Jones can step right in opposite Watkins [1:47 AM]
The Sports Xchange reports: 'Sammy Watkins is the No. 1 receiver on the roster, but there's no way around the fact that Watkins has been somewhat of a disappointment for the Bills. They traded up in the first round in 2014 to pick him up, a move that, in hindsight, was terrible for three reasons...'.

Marker Bills hire Gray as College Scouting Director; finalize scouting staff [1:43 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“Terrance is what I would label a young riser in this business,” Bills general manager Brandon Beane said in a statement at Buffalobills.com. “(Minnesota general manager) Rick Spielman has had a great staff, well respected guys around the league. Terrance worked his way up to a Southeast area scout. The southeast is well known as a prime talent area. He’s done a great job. Rick gave him a great recommendation. (Minnesota assistant general manager) George Paton as well when I called those guys. Every reference that (Bills assistant general manager) Joe (Schoen) and I called on said that Terrance has what it takes, he just hasn’t had the opportunity.”'

Marker Joe B: 7 observations from Buffalo Bills OTAs - Week 2 (5/25/17) [1:42 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'The last two times we've seen the Bills at practice, rookie Dion Dawkins has lined up at left tackle in place of the still rehabbing Cordy Glenn. With Glenn still unable to take part in team drills Thursday, that trend continued once again... but to this point in time, we haven't seen him take a single rep at right tackle -- which was the position he was drafted to compete for.'

So it’s pretty good to be out there running the show and telling guys what to do and getting a feel for what you want to see on the field.”'

In Miami? They're talking about being dissatisfied about one-and-done playoff appearances. Specifically, that's coming from the one player with the potential to do something about it: Ndamukong Suh.'

And while LeSean McCoy is still around to keep the running game dangerous, Mike Gillislee was outstanding last year, and losing him really hurts Buffalo's depth."'
