Marker New faces, 5 observations from Day 13 of Buffalo Bills training camp on Sunday [1:45 AM]
Batavia Daily News reports: 'In the past couple days alone, the Bills have a much different looking wide receiver depth chart. Matthews saw time with the first and second teams during his first practice, more so with the second team. During the scheme install session, Matthews stayed next to wide recievers coach Phil McGeoghan the entire time instead of taking part, asking questions. Mainly seeing time with the first team were Zay Jones and Anquan Boldin. Andre Holmes and Brandon Tate also spelled into the first-team as well. Matthews, Jones, and Boldin all saw time in the slot and outside during formations. Boldin notably stayed inside the most. '

Marker Receiver Matthews hurts chest in practice debut with Bills [1:44 AM]
AP reports: 'Matthews finished the two-hour practice on Sunday before being escorted off the field by a trainer. The Bills were unable to provide an update on the nature or severity of the injury because Matthews was still being evaluated.'

Marker Jordan Matthews suffers possible chest injury in 1st practice with Bills [1:43 AM]
ESPN reports: 'It is unclear when Matthews suffered the injury in Sunday's practice. He finished the session and later left the field with a trainer. He was not made available to reporters because of the injury.'

Marker Bills camp: Peterman moves up to No. 2 QB, WR Matthews injures chest in his first practice [1:42 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Not only did Peterman take No. 2 quarterback reps, he also had a very good practice. He made good decisions and mostly good throws, even threading the needle to Corey "Philly" Brown on a deep out right at the sidelines, just before the defender could get there. That’s a throw Peterman hasn’t connected on enough of throughout OTAs, minicamp, and this training camp. Hopefully he continues to be able to do that. He also led the second offense to a TD on a 2-minute drill, taking what the defense gave him, for the most part, but hitting Brandon Tate on a 22-yard TD strike for the score.'

Marker It's ok to trust this process [1:41 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Year after year, new general managers and head coaches alike have attempted to build a suitable home on a flawed foundation. They tried and tried, and every time they were seemingly presented with the same disappointing result. This regime has prioritized rebuilding the flawed foundation that’s been ignored for the better part of two decades, so why not be open to a new process?'

Marker Joe B: 7 Buffalo Bills training camp observations, Day 13 (8/13/17) [1:40 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: 'One of the biggest takeaways from the first preseason game of the year for the Bills was that the performance by backup quarterback T.J. Yates fell woefully short of what fans had been hoping for. His poor day, combined with a solid debut by rookie Nathan Peterman made the Bills take a longer look at their backup job, it would appear. Peterman, not Yates, took the vast majority of reps with the second-team offense on Sunday — only the second time he’s even taken a rep with that unit since the beginning of training camp, and that was in the first few days.'

Marker McDermott hopeful Glenn is ready for Week 1 [1:39 AM] reports: '“Dion (Dawkins) would potentially move over if we got that far,” said McDermott. “At this point in time we’re not going to do that. We’re going to get him comfortable at the right tackle position. But we do have to have a contingency plan in place and we feel the reps Dion built up on the left side over the spring should serve him well if needed.”'

Marker Top 3 things to know from Day 12 at Bills Camp [1:38 AM] reports: '“It was good. I’ve been taking reps with Ryan Groy and those linemen a little bit,” said Peterman. “It was a good transition and I was thankful for it.”'

Marker Bills Today: ESPN tabs Bills winner of trades [1:37 AM] reports: 'For Barnwell, the Bills were winners because of these picks. The Bills will be able to compete this season, as general manager Brandon Beane and coach Sean McDermott have espoused many times this offseason. But, they will also have flexibility next offseason, as they look to continue to build the Bills into a contender.'

Buffalo News reports: '"I'm still trying to dissect what's real and what's true as I move forward."'

Marker Trades send a clear message to the Bills that nobody's spot is secure – so who could be n [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '“When you see a guy of that caliber get traded, it kind of makes you think about your job security, especially younger guys that are new to this business,” veteran center Eric Wood said. “There’s a lot of turnover in this business. They’re making decisions that they feel is best for this team.”'

Marker Sully's Mailbag: Wide range of reactions on Watkins trade [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Beane might have taken a harder line on Watkins when he became GM. He admitted on Friday that Sammy's injury history was a factor in the trade. Watkins was a diminished asset, and Beane was obviously open to moving him.'

Marker Jay Skurski's Bills Mailbag: Kyle Williams' future, the new WR depth chart, T.J. Yates [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Thanks to his dynamite camp so far, Streater also gets a spot on my projection. After that, I'm going with Andre Holmes and Brandon Tate, for now. Holmes is on shaky ground because of drops. I'm also interested in acquiring a compensatory third-round draft pick for the loss of Stephon Gilmore, and to do that the team would have to release Holmes, defensive end Ryan Davis and guard Vlad Ducasse. Those three players figured into the compensatory formula and would be the easiest to move on from.'

Marker McDermott sets the tone at Bills camp by having DJ's drop the tunes [1:55 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“It’s been great having them at practice and around campus,’’ McDermott said. “The players appreciate it, I appreciate it, it adds a bit of motivation each and every day which is great.’’'

Marker Buffalo Bills starting over at wide receiver and secondary in 2017 [1:54 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Buffalo's top four receivers from 2016 are gone and the only receivers who recorded a reception in Buffalo last season are Walter Powell and Brandon Tate. The two combined to catch 22 passes for 259 yards. Buffalo will look to replace their former top four with Zay Jones, Jordan Matthews, Anquan Boldin and Andre Holmes.'

Marker Buffalo Bills sign CB Jumal Rolle, release CB Charles James [1:53 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: 'Rolle was originally signed by the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Catawba in 2013. He was released in late August by the team. The cornerback would spend time on the practice squads of the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers as a rookie before being promoted to Green Bay's 53-man roster. He'd return to the Packers' practice squad in 2014 before the Texans signed him to their main roster.'

Marker Sammy Watkins meets with L.A. media for first time since trade from Buffalo Bills [1:52 AM]
Syracuse Post Standard reports: '"I just thought I was catching it hot," Watkins told the Los Angeles media. "I mean, they was targeting me pretty quick, and after the game, I was... 'Oh, I probably was out there auditioning.'"'

Marker Bills' leaders react to Watkins, Darby deals [1:51 AM]
WGR-AM reports: '“Being in the league for almost seven years, you know that every day that you step into a building, it could be your last day. Things happen around the league. It’s definitely, like I said, just surprised. I wish Sammy the best. I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to him. I will call him today. It’s been a fast day, but definitely surprised.”'

Marker Bills with a summer shocker [1:50 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'If I were the GM of the Bills I would not have traded away Watkins. I thought the Bills made the right decision in deciding not to pick up the 2018 option year on his contract. The best course of action was to see if Watkins could stay healthy this season and then decide his future. I think Sammy is an extremely talented receiver who can bring explosive plays to the field. If he stayed healthy and was productive, the Bills could have then pursued a multi year contract or at the very least used the franchise tag.'

Marker Watkins has no ill will towards the Bills [1:49 AM]
WKBW-TV reports: '"It was fast," Darby told reporters at Philadelphia Eagles practice Saturday morning. "I just heard I was being traded, like closed my eyes, opened them, I'm on a plane, closed my eyes, opened them, I'm laying down in the hotel and now I'm out here, everything has just been moving really fast."'

Marker Bills sign CB Jumal Rolle [1:48 AM] reports: 'Rolle, who began his NFL career with the Bills as a undrafted rookie free agent now rejoins the team after spending parts of two seasons (2014-2015) with the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.'

Marker Zay Jones’ NFL debut against his brother is a dream come true [1:47 AM] reports: '“It’s an awesome feeling,” said Robert. “To have two of your sons, we actually have three, to make it to this level, it’s a wonderful opportunity. Just the ride over here – the nervousness that you feel, you just want both to do well. Someone has to win, someone has to lose. But, I love the fact that both of them have worked their butts off and have gotten to this point. I am just excited to see how they do on the field.”'

Marker Bills Today: Buffalo has NFL’s most productive slot WR [1:46 AM] reports: 'PFF has Matthews with a total of 2,389 receiving yards out of the slot the last three seasons to lead the league. Behind him are names like Randall Cobb, Jarvis Landry, Doug Baldwin and Larry Fitzgerald.'

Marker Bills' double trade distances them from Whaley era [2:33 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Of course, dealing no worse than the second-best offensive player and a quality starting cornerback, has left some Bills’ fans wondering whether it signifies Tank City … that is to say accept losing this year to improve draft position. After all, Gaines and Matthews were deemed expendable by the Rams and Eagles, respectively, yet are likely to move into starting roles with Buffalo almost immediately.'

Marker Blockbusters: Bills trade Sammy Watkins, Ronald Darby [1:59 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"Rosters change over. It’s a new regime, so to speak," Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said. "We’re trying to do everything that we can to build the right team the right way. Sustained success is the word I used the day I took this job and that’s where I’m at today."'

Marker Bills trades distance team from Doug Whaley, pivot roster squarely in Brandon Beane's direction [1:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Regardless, these are the men who are on the harpoon for the Bills' past drafts. They were the general managers, and here's what's left of their legacies on the 2017 Buffalo Bills roster after Friday's trades of 2014 first-round pick Sammy Watkins and 2015 second-rounder Ronald Darby.'

Marker LeSean McCoy can relate to Sammy Watkins getting traded for 'a guy that he's probably bett [1:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I've been there," he said Friday after practice. "It's a business. He has to understand that. I can understand the type of way he feels right now, getting traded for a guy that he's probably better than. So I understand. But he'll be all right.'

Marker Jerry Sullivan: Make no mistake, Watkins trade a nod to the future [1:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The trades, which I applaud, made them worse in the short term. You don't deal a starting cornerback and potential superstar wide receiver and get better.'
