Marker Reports Henry To Titans [2:17 PM]

Marker Goal-line stand: Travis Henry [9:13 AM]
Fox Sports reports: 'Acquiring Henry would be a slap in the face of Brown, only a third-year player. We believe Henry would have every chance to win the starting job. His hard-nosed running style fits Jeff Fisher's ideal for a running back. Henry has a lot more Eddie George in him than Brown, who is explosive but struggles in short-yardage. Coach Fisher may desire a running back who is more consistent.'

Marker Fantasy spin: Travis Henry [9:13 AM]
Fox Sports reports: 'Questions remain on the stability of Taylor's knee. If he's not fully recovered by Opening Day, Henry would start.'

Marker Mixed signals surround talk of trade for Henry [4:46 AM]
Nashville Tennessean reports: '"Things have heated up because apparently other teams are in it and it changes things," Reese said. "You don't want to be left standing at the altar if it starts heating up and you decide you want to make a move. You don't want to miss it because you haven't been in touch."'

Marker Starks signs with Jags; Jones could be next [4:45 AM]
Florida Times Union reports: 'Meanwhile, the Jaguars remain close to acquiring Henry from the Buffalo Bills after working out most of the details for a contract extension with the veteran running back, Henry's agent said. With an extension all but done, the biggest roadblock to a deal remains compensation to the Bills. Buffalo is seeking at least a third-round pick, but the Jaguars have not yet agreed on that. Tennessee also remains in the mix for Henry but doesn't have nearly as much room under the salary cap for the contract extension Henry is demanding.'

Marker Bills QB looks to life after the NFL [4:44 AM]
Biloxi Sun Herald reports: 'That's why Matthews remains a viable force in pro football, the valuable veteran on the sideline, as the Buffalo Bills turn to second-year quarterback J.P. Losman this fall. The 35-year-old Matthews understands his role and knows it can change in an instant. "If you're not the starter, you're not going to get many reps in practice," Matthews said. "You have to be ready at the drop of a hat."'

Marker Bills’ tickets already in big demand [4:43 AM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Tomorrow’s demand is expected to be heavy, so the team suggests the most convenient way to buy single-game tickets is via either of the two web sites. The hook with season tickets, obviously, is not only guaranteed tickets for every game, but also a discounted price. Individual game tickets range from $35-$53 while season tickets average from $25-$43.'

Marker High Expectations for Sophomore WR Evans [1:43 PM] reports: 'Because of his stellar rookie campaign, defenses are now aware of what Evans can do. For that reason, veteran wideout Eric Moulds has told the young receiver to be prepared because opposing teams will be trying that much harder to stop him. "I told him [recently], 'The second year is your hardest year, because you proved that you can play,' " Moulds said. "Now they're going to start game-planning for him. I think that he's approaching it like, " 'I want to get better and be a 1,000-yard receiver,' and I just hope that he'll come out, play well and work hard."'

Marker Jags close to trading for Bills' Henry [12:46 PM]
AP reports: 'Del Rio said trading for Henry should not be viewed as a reflection on the team's feelings about backup running backs LaBrandon Toefield, Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala and rookie Alvin Pearman. "We like all of our guys," Del Rio said. "We think LaBrandon Toefield can be a very good player. The thing that makes Henry attractive is he's proved he can do it."'

Marker Buffalo trying to finish deal soon [11:44 AM]
ESPN reports: 'Despite reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars are close to acquiring Travis Henry, the Tennessee Titans have made the more attractive trade proposal to the Buffalo Bills and are the front-runner in the chase for the disgruntled tailback.'

Marker Henry trade to Jags could be imminent [8:54 AM]

Buffalo News reports: 'But with the help of Hunter's Hope - founded in 1997 by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill, after their son was diagnosed with Krabbe - children like Laura have a second chance. "It was a world of difference compared with our first time," said Carol Cross, Laura's mother. "When Joshua was born, there was no Hunter's Hope Web site. The hospital just told us to take him home and make him comfortable."'

Marker Del Rio Wants Henry [8:12 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'The Jacksonville Jaguars web site says the club is closer to getting the Bills Travis Henry.'

Marker Taylor good in workout [7:06 AM] reports: '“The fact that we have an opportunity to acquire a running back of this kind of talent is something we have to look at, so we're looking at it. This may or may not happen, but we're protecting our interests and any time we think we can acquire somebody who can help us we're going to do that. It looks like it's coming to a head in the next few days or week,” Del Rio said.'

Marker Jaguars, Henry are close [5:01 AM]
Florida Times Union reports: 'Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said Thursday in a statement released by the team that a deal for Henry, a Pro Bowl selection in 2003, could be completed "in the next few days or week."'

Marker Who Will Be This Year’s ‘Sleeper’? [10:28 PM] reports: 'Because it's only mid-July and training camp has yet to begin, it wouldn't make much sense to start speculating which unheralded rookies have a legitimate chance of making the team. It's simply too early for that. However, we can look back at how some players have found a way to stick around against the odds, and see if that bodes well for any of the current young guns.'

Marker Remembering Bills’ Logos From The Past [4:30 PM] reports: 'An interesting story involving the logo is also a part of Buffalo Bills history. During the early years of the franchise the jersey number 31 was never worn by a player in a regular season game. The unofficial “legend” among long-time fans was that the number was not issued because it was reserved for the official team logo. The tradition was broken in 1969 when reserve running back Preston Ridlehuber was issued number 31 for one game while his normal number 36 jersey was repaired by equipment manager Tony Marchitte. The number 31 was not issued again until 1990 when first round draft choice James (JD) Williams wore it for the entire season.'

Marker Awakened or Set? [5:43 AM] reports: 'An athlete may not be on the injured list, but it’s 100 percent evident that something is wrong with their physical condition. For the past few years that can be said for Bills wide receiver Eric Moulds. He didn’t suffer any serious tear, but the severity of a groin, back, and eclipsing the age of 30 all at the same time caused Moulds stats to slump.'

Marker Former NFL player Hill gets probation for mail fraud [5:42 AM]
Des Moines Register reports: 'The 55-year-old Hill had pleaded guilty in Nov. 2004 to mail fraud and conspiracy charges. Prosecutors alleged Hill collected disability payments while making a "significant income" from a job.'

Marker 'Everything In Its Right Place' for Milloy [4:40 PM] reports: '"Lawyer's been here as much as anybody," head coach Mike Mularkey said. "He has been a tremendous leader in the offseason drills. … I think he's set some personal goals that hopefully will help our team out. It's been evident that he's been on a mission."'

Marker Inside the Herd: OL Duke Preston [12:34 PM] reports: 'My experience in Buffalo for the six weeks I was there was incredible. I had the opportunity to play in quite a few golf tournaments and I met a lot of the fans and people who support the Bills' organization and they are some of the most genuine people who would bend over backward to help you out. As far as the adjustment from San Diego, I know the weather is a lot different from what I am used to, but then again I went to school in Illinois. I have seen the snowfall and I think that will be advantageous to me, but probably not in the quantity that we will get in Buffalo. That is just a state of mind and you tell yourself that you are warm and try to trick yourself. I don't know. If you ask me that question in December or January, I'll have a different answer for you.'

Marker Bills determine camp tickets [8:54 AM]

"It's been a challenge, but the offseason has been good from a mental standpoint, and not being thrust into the position as I was a year ago. … I've had an opportunity to get in my books, learn it, and become very, very comfortable with at least the foundation of the defense and the terminology."

Marker 2005 NFL Preview: Buffalo Bills [3:42 PM] reports: 'Over/Under: 8.5 [wins]
The facile schedule last season had the Bills facing six opponents who didn't make it to seven wins. This year, they have 12 games against teams who finished with seven or more wins and their other games are versus Miami, Oakland, and Tampa Bay — all who expect to improve.'
