Marker How long till Bills' changing of the guard? [5:05 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Leo: The team is 1-5 and spinning its wheels. Something needs to be done. Sal: Spinning its wheels? The engine would have to be running for the Bills to be spinning their wheels.'

Marker Strategy and personnel [5:01 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'Bledsoe can be blamed for three of Buffalo's four failed red zone opportunities.'

Marker Notes, quotes [5:00 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'LT Jonas Jennings' bad ankle forced him to miss his second straight game. He's expected to try and practice on Wednesday when full preparations for the Arizona Cardinals begin. Jennings has been injury prone each of his four NFL seasons and he had hoped to shake that label heading into free agency but it hasn't happened.'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Mike Mularkey [4:59 AM] reports: 'We have not stopped fighting for the playoffs. There is a lot of football left, as we've got 10 ballgames to go and our number one objective is still the playoffs.'

Marker Ask Him Yourself: Tom Donahoe [4:58 AM] reports: 'Our coaches currently feel that our best chance to win is with Drew Bledsoe and even though our entire offense struggled in the Baltimore game, Drew has played good football for us this year up until yesterday's game.'

Marker Drew's Bills days are numbered [4:57 AM]
WGRZ-TV reports: 'Not that it really matters if rookie qb J.P. Losman can practice or play right now, which he canít, because he wonít. Still, his day is coming much sooner than Iíd ever have thought possible at the start of this season.'

Marker Jennings Is Improving [4:56 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'J.P. Losman will start to take part in team drills that don't require him to scramble. Mularkey thinks his rookie quarterback is realistically two or three weeks away. The Bills head coach refused to speculate if Losman will replace Drew Bledsoe when he's healthy.'

Marker Bledsoe's blunders butcher Buffalo [4:50 AM]
Niagara Falls Reporter reports: 'In this particular version, Bledsoe moves the Bills achingly close to a touchdown that would at least make things interesting, only to see all his most important throws end up in the hands of someone wearing purple.'

Marker No More Mularkey on McGahee [10:07 PM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'You have to show your team you have the ability to make those key decisions if you want to lead. Mularkey has not done that. Key decisions are not cutting Bobby Shaw. Thatís not a statement or a tough move; itís just a token thatís supposed to set an example. The problem is not all on Mularkey. Heís a rookie coach who is feeling his way through the process of learning how to lead his players and make those decisions. Now he's got exactly the same record Gregg Williams had through his first six games, and in 2001 Williams had far less talent.'

Marker Bledsoe's days are numbered [10:02 PM]
Tonawanda News reports: 'Letís face it ó this yearís version of the Bills is going nowhere. Sure, they may still be mathematically alive, but those are about the only good numbers for the Buffalo offense. The Bills rank near the bottom of the league in nearly all offensive categories, and those rankings wonít improve following Sundayís loss. But Losman isnít the answer ó at least not yet. With the Buffalo offensive line as porous as it is right now, the last thing the Bills want is to expose Losman to the fierce pass rushes and blitzes he would experience every week. Losman needs to get more reps in practice before the Bills should put him in as the starter.'

Marker Inept offense dragging down Bills [9:37 PM]
AP reports: 'Mularkey was hired in part because of the expertise and creative game-planning he displayed in three seasons as Pittsburgh's offensive coordinator. He refuses to be drawn into comparisons to last year. ``I'm not going to go there,'' he said. ``If anything goes wrong this year, then I'm the guy to hang the hat on.'''

Marker Game Notes: Bills. vs. Ravens [3:27 PM] reports: 'Lawyer Milloy: In his first action of the season, tied Takeo Spikes for the team lead with 12 tackles (nine solo).'

Marker The stuff of nightmares [1:06 PM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The Bills have scored eight first-quarter points in their last 10 road games - two field goals and a safety.'

Marker Bills Team Report [11:41 AM]
The Sporting News reports: 'The Bills entered the season wanting a ball-control attack but have lacked consistency. They have scored six offensive touchdowns, none rushing, and especially struggle on third downs. They commit too many penalties and allow too many sacks to sustain drives.'

Marker Bills Not Ready To Give Up [11:25 AM] reports: '"Something has to happen for the better," said safety Lawyer Milloy. "I want to say it's going to happen next week, we thought it would happen this week. When you are trying to climb back out of the cellar, you know you have to keep fighting. We have the organization and a coach that is going to get the guys around here that can win these types of games. Right now we have to believe in each other and keep fighting."'

Marker Bills are back [10:22 AM]
Wellsville Daily Reporter reports: 'The offensive unit that couldn't find the end zone in seven of 16 games last year is back. And the imposing defense that finished second in the league a year ago is back to walking to the locker room with heads hanging after the offense let another one slip away.'

Marker Not ready for Prime Time [8:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'What can you say when your opponent manages 17 total yards and one first down in the final 30 minutes and still wins going away?'

Marker Henry resigned to likely cut in playing time [8:58 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I was surprised, but that's what the coaches decided to do," Henry said. "I want to do what I can to help this team win, but it didn't happen today. It's a situation that obviously I'm going to have to deal with this year."'

Marker End debates and put in Willis, J.P. [8:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Saturday, while setting the clocks back one hour, you can go ahead and set your football clocks ahead to the post-Bledsoe era. Then you can begin counting the days. For most lucid Buffalo fans, I imagine that day cannot arrive soon enough.'

Marker Milloy thrilled to play again [8:56 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'Milloy was credited with six tackles (four solo) and brought a physical presence to the game. "That's what I do," the four-time Pro Bowler said. "I wanted to come back and have as little hesitation as possible. I don't know any other way to play football."'

Marker Grading the Bills [8:55 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'The CIA should use tapes of the Bills' pass offense in order to torture information out of suspected terrorists.'

Marker Not Another Loss [8:43 AM]
Erie Times News reports: 'This Buffalo Bills team is in dire need of a new leader, a new swagger and a new style of play. So, please, pass the torch to this young buck in J.P. Losman. I know you can see that Losman, Willis McGahee and Lee Evans are the future of this offense. Please do not interfere any longer. Step aside, my friend, please step aside. The removal of Losmanís cast will be your cue to hand the offense over. I was cheering for you Drew, but after compiling a 15-23 record over nearly two and a half seasons in Buffalo, it is clear that the team is in dire need of a change.'

Marker Bills picked apart [5:06 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The Bills penetrated the Baltimore Ravens' 20-yard line four times and gained eight yards on 11 plays.'

Marker Defensive effort shortchanged [5:06 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The Buffalo defense limited the Baltimore Ravens to 160 total yards Sunday yet the Bills lost by two touchdowns, 20-6. It was the lowest yardage yield by a Bills defense since Nov. 14, 1999 when Miami managed just 101 yards, an effort that was not wasted as Buffalo won 23-3. Further, the 160 yards were the fewest allowed in a game the Bills lost since 1977, and it was the fourth-lowest yardage yield in a loss in team history.'

Marker Bledsoe nearing end as starting QB [5:05 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'Baltimore, which plays a ball-control style designed to complement its stalwart defense, is 4-2 under Boller. Buffalo, which plays a ball-control style designed to complement its stalwart defense, is 1-5 under Bledsoe.'

Marker Two-minute read [5:04 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'B.J. Sams' 5-yard touchdown run in the second quarter made the score 17-3 and ó given the state of the Bills' offense ópretty much put the game out of reach for Buffalo.'

Marker Buffalo Bills report card [5:03 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The numbers speak for themselves. Four interceptions, four sacks and a QB rating of 32.3. Baltimore QB Kyle Boller played a terrible game, yet his QB rating was double that of Bledsoe's. This was a game that was there for the taking, and all Bledsoe did was throw it away.'

Marker Fourth-quarter call adds to Bledsoe's pain [5:02 AM]
Baltimore Sun reports: 'Bledsoe said his game plan was "to do whatever we can against a very fast-pursuing defense, to give them some misdirection and create some plays for ourselves." The Ravens' pressure, Bledsoe said, forced the Bills into a quick passing game in which he sometimes had to "guess" on how a play would develop.'

Marker Deion Offers Blast From the Past [4:58 AM]
The Sports Network reports: '"They talked about me before I came, 'He's too old, he should be doing this, he should be doing that,'" said Sanders. "Every time I give up a pass they're going to talk about me. That was the key thing that Michael Jordan warned me of, he said you have to handle the criticism, because there will be criticism."'
