Marker Brown's injury complicates Bills' roster decisions [6:03 PM]
AP reports: 'Brown's injury complicates the Bills decisions in making their final cuts. Like most teams, the Bills would rather enter the regular season with only three quarterbacks on their roster. Now they must decide whether to: go with two healthy quarterbacks and keep Brown on the active roster while he's injured; keep Brown and bring in a fourth quarterback; or reach an injury settlement with Brown to allow for his release and bring in a new third-stringer.'

Marker Buffalo Bills Preview [4:32 PM]
CNN/SI reports: 'This is where the plan might break down. Adams, who has been hailed as some sort of savior for the Bills, gradually wore out his welcome after a six-year run in Seattle, got his game in order and put together two Pro Bowl seasons with Baltimore, and then spent a nonproductive 2002 season with the Raiders, who cut him. He's on the downside of a basically underachieving career. "Not here, he won't be," Williams says. "Have you ever heard of a coach we have named Tim Krumrie?"'

Marker Coleman gets last chance to impress Bills [3:56 PM]
AP reports: '''He's really taken the next step, going from a guy to being a guy that's a legitimate NFL football player,'' Bledsoe said. ''And we expect big things from him.'''

Marker Bills, Lions tangle at Ralph Wilson Stadium [3:23 PM]
The Sports Network reports: 'Henry's injury isn't expected to be serious, but there is a good chance he'll sit this contest out. Veteran reserve RB Olandis Gary could see a bulk of the carries in this game.'

Marker New run-stuffers will make difference for Bills, Pats [2:06 PM]
ESPN reports: "If you're a linebacker," said Spikes, "you dream about having a guy like Big Sam in front of you. Believe me, he isn't (anonymous) to the guys playing with him. And to all those (offensive) linemen trying to move that big butt even an inch … well, they know what a load he can be, and how good he can make the run defense."

Marker Bills Alumni Spotlight: Keith Moody [2:05 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Moody concluded his playing career in ‘80 with the Super Bowl XV-winning Oakland Raiders. He still lives in Northern California, and is an assistant principal at Mountain View High School in Mountain View, Calif.'

Marker Previewing the Bills [2:05 PM]
DetroitLions.com reports: 'Bledsoe will see limited action Thursday against the Lions along with back-up quarterback Alex Van Pelt. Rookie quarterback Jason Johnson should see a lot of snaps against Detroit. Johnson re-signed with the Bills after being cut at the end of training camp. Third-string quarterback Travis Brown disclocated his middle finger, which made room for Johson.'

Marker What to watch for in the Buffalo battle [2:04 PM]
DetroitLions.com reports: '"We’re going to play James Stewart a little bit and then the other guys are going to have a chance to show what they can do again," Mariucci said Tuesday.'

Marker Bledsoe shrugs off QB injuries [8:57 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"With Alex, we wouldn't miss a beat," veteran guard Ruben Brown said. "We have some inexperience on the offensive line and if someone went down there we might have some problems, but not at quarterback. With Alex, I think we have the best backup in the NFL."'

Marker Bills place McGahee on non-football injury list [5:22 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: 'The move does not affect McGahee’s contract because it includes a clause that ensures he will get his full base salary of $411,000. Ordinarily, teams are not obligated to pay players’ base salary if they are placed on any of the reserve lists.'

Marker Leaving a lasting impression [5:21 AM]
Rochester D&C reports: '“ In a lot of ways, he’s a steal,” said offensive line coach Pat Ruel. “ Ben came into Iowa and started at left tackle as a true freshman, which freshmen don’t do.”'

Marker Buffalo cut Ray Thomas looks like a genuine catch [5:20 AM]
Hamilton Spectator reports: 'On Monday morning, Hamilton's Ray Thomas was cut by the Buffalo Bills. By all accounts he'd done well at training camp. He'd simply become caught in a numbers game. The team was happy with his work. He was pleased with his own performance. There just wasn't room on the roster for a third tight end. So he was called into coach Gregg Williams' office and told he wasn't needed. Not yet anyway.'

Marker The Bills Release Three To Get Down To 65 Players [5:15 AM]
WGR-AM reports: 'Rone made the team after a sparkling preseason last year, but was never active for a game. With the emergence of Clarence Coleman, Rodney Wright and Antonio Brown, Rone never really had a chance this preseason.'

Marker AFC East primer [2:43 PM]
The Sporting News reports: 'Winning one against the Pats will give this team much confidence, and the Bills will continue their rise from 3-13 two years ago to. . . .11-5, No. 3 seed in the AFC.'

Marker No surprise in Jett being cut by Bills [2:14 PM]
Olean Times Herald reports: 'Few people are going to spend between $30 and $48 per ticket to take their kids to a pre-season game. But at $8 it was not only affordable, but also an excellent entertainment option for kids who had plenty more to do than merely watch the game. Any number of youth who normally would never get to see the Bills in person got to experience live pro football. And when some of them get older, they might just become season ticket holders. The whole idea is a no-brainer.'

Marker Williams defends lengthy preseason [9:01 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"We've got a lot of guys with some depth at positions that we haven't had for a couple of years here and coming down to the fourth game, we don't know enough about," Williams said. "There was a time when people thought you could do it in two games but it would be awful hard."'

Marker Bulletin Board [9:00 AM]

Marker QB Brown Out Indefinitely; Bills Re-Sign Johnson [5:15 PM]
BuffaloBills.com reports: 'Meanwhile, the Bills re-signed rookie quarterback Jason Johnson, who the team had released on the final day of training camp at St. John Fisher College. "I don't know if he had found out already that Travis (Brown) had gotten hurt but he was back in a flash and was right back in the meetings and was ready to go," said Williams. "He understands the terminology and he'll be ready to play this week."'

Marker Nine Bills Face Roster Cutdown [9:36 AM]
WIVB-TV reports: 'The deadline is Tuesday at 4pm, but its likely that Gregg Williams will make the moves by Monday.'

Marker Donahoe denies Gary trade rumor [9:18 AM]
Buffalo News reports: 'However, it doesn't appear the Bills would consider trading Gary unless they could get a midround draft choice in exchange. A Gary trade also would be risky given the possibility that Henry could get hurt.'

Marker Reese makes Bills three deep at safety [9:17 AM]
Buffalo News reports: '"I think it's more of a rotational thing," Reese said. "They want to make sure we're all ready to go before the season kicks off. If someone goes down, we all need to be ready and we all need to have some experience playing with the first group. It shouldn't matter what situation it is or who they call on, the coaches have to have confidence in all of us to be able to go in and get the job done."'

Marker Bills due to win division [9:15 AM]
CBS Sportsline reports: 'That's why they are the team to beat in the AFC East, provided the change in offensive styles doesn't have that great an impact on a unit that scored points last season.'
